Everything was clicking back into place with his life and one again the male was feeling eager for the days to come. After his rough patch with Myraid falling and his pack mates leaving him to fend for himself he had sought out his Uncle who happily accepted him back into Fiori. After a brief meeting with him he had hunted down his old den at the base of one of the large trees of the mangrove. It was empty and only smelled faintly of his own scent. The rest of his morning, to early afternoon had been spent cleaning out the old bedding, hair, and anything he had collected the last time he was here. He moved the old stuff far from his and anyone else's den site before he could move onto finding new bedding. Finding bedding was not a problem and soon his work was done. His den was clean and re-bedded, ready for tonight when he went to sleep.

After he was finished the male settled down under the tree taking a break and gathering his thoughts for what he had needed to do next. Since he was already familiar with the pack lands all he needed to do was get familiar with the prey that thrived in them and that could take a few days to a few weeks. Tracking the movement patterns of the prey was not something that could be completed in a day or two. Since the lead hunter was down and out due to pregnancy he knew he must step up and do his best to fill in for her. So far he was the only other in the hunter rank. It would be a lot of work, but he was aiming to prove his worth in the pack. He would need to keep the ball rolling so that he would be sure the large pack could make it through the winter.

Shaking his head the thoughts made him restless and reluctant to sit around any longer. He needed to get to work and build himself back up in the process. Though perhaps it could wait until tomorrow morning, he could leave early and seek out the bedding spots of the larger prey then fallow their movements for the day. Today he should catch up and meet some other faces in the pack. Nodding he had his plans set and after a few more minutes of rest he would get started.

She couldn't help thinking about her recent encounter with her sister. It had been worthwhile; she never turned down the opportunity to spend time with family. After all, who else could she confide with and express herself to so comfortably? But now that she was back in the open, bound to bump into another packmate - quite literally, knowing Diana - she felt like the entire essence of who she was was bottled up inside, protected by her outer shell. And that was no good.

Hidden in a cluster of mangroves, she heard the gentle patter of pawsteps a short distance away. Another packmate, one she hadn't yet met, and she wasn't overly excited to meet anyway. She wasn't one to cheerfully say hello to a stranger, call them over, and engage in a conversation. She was more of the trip-over-her-own-paws-and-make-a-complete-fool-of-herself wolf. In a way, that was better than greeting them. An embarrassing yet dramatic entrance. A lot of her packmates remembered her as "that girl who crashed into me a few weeks back". But she didn't like that. She wanted to be remembered as Diana. No-one but Diana. Maybe this could her chance. "Hi," she said in a quiet voice, stepping out from the trees as the male passed by. Her heart pounded in her chest. Was she being too sudden? Too random? What if she scared him? "I-I'm Diana." She forced a smile to her lips, even if she was willing her body to stop shaking.

After a bit of rest Jackson thought it was time to get up and get moving. He wasn't going to get anything done by laying around. He had so much that he needed to do, so much to do so he could prove his worth to his uncle and to his pack. He wanted to be able to continue and eventually help train his young cousins to hunt. He wanted to make it so that he was remembered, trusted, and someone that the whole pack knew. He wanted to get to know everyone in the pack and once he had his stuff done, expand his prey travel and hopefully bring more faces to Fiori. Stretching the male then rose to his feet and moved on from his spot. Moving along through the brush he lowered his head to the ground, sniffing the earth as he went. He was looking for scents, trails left by other animals. He hadn't picked up her scent, not even when he passed where she had been.

It wasn't until the soft voice called out that he stopped and turned his head. Searching until she popped out around the tree. He recognized her, well more like she looked like Aunt Amalia. Could this be one of her kids? Were they really this big now? Time had really flew since he was last in Fiori and he felt like he had a lot to catch up on. He couldn't remember his young cousin's name and suddenly felt rather dumb. He tried to cover it up by giving her a soft smile and a friendly wag of his tail. She then spoke her name and it clicked, yes this was one of Aunt Amalia's children from the most recent litter.

"Hello Diana it's nice to meet you. I'm Jackson Adravendi" he replied.

An Adravendi. So he was related to her - perhaps a cousin? She wanted to ask, to get a better understanding of her huge family tree and some of the canines she could call kin. It was something that interested her in a oddly satisfying way. Was it a normal interest? She didn't know. Unlike other wolves, there was more to her family than just her parents and sibling. And when there was so much to explore, why not? Why not uncover the deepest secrets in the Adravendi or Armada lineage?

But that's the thing, she couldn't bring herself to ask. Heck, she couldn't even bring herself to start a normal conversation. What was it that girls her age liked talking about? The weather? How they were feeling? Think, Diana, think. She didn't even know this relative of hers, and the very thought brought guilt to her chest. "Forgive me," she began, breaking away from his amethyst gaze. She chewed her bottom lip. "You must be related to my mother, Amalia, right? I-I'm not that g-great with family stuff."
