Rubber Feet

It was cold and slushy, but the rapids had returned to mostly normal. Sparrow had to be thankful for the water. It had to be a little dangerous walking around with the wet and freezing ground. What was left of the dirty sleet squelched under Sparrow's small feet. Though it was mostly water, it felt like it was pricking holes into her feet. The sun had just begun to rise, and the sun had yet to warm the ground. Patches of ice and thinly-iced puddles surrounded the area. The small girl intended to march through them until she found some herbs and could tuck away from the showers that might come during the rain.
The rain offered herbs later in the season than expected, but they were nowhere near plentiful. Sparrow figured she might as well gather some while she could. If winter was this wet all season, there was no doubt that several wolves would get sick. She didn't go to the healer meeting. She didn't really want to. She wasn't sure what she wanted. It sucked. Being an adult sucked.
The small girl supposed she was happy to be home for a while, though. Since the last meeting, the drama had seemed to die out. Maybe all the drama was really Lillianna's fault after all. Sparrow shook her head- good riddance. If there wasn't as much drama, maybe the pack really could come together, and if they did, they would need an herb supply; Sparrow intended on being that supply.
