Evening was on it's way and Lyre was adventuring around her new pack lands. She was growing used to the whole pack thing, not really sure if it was a hundred percent what she wanted. Bass was kind to her and she knew she liked the pack itself and she would be loyal to them and show Bass that she was a worthy member. But she still wasn't sure if this life was for her.

She found herself at a lake, ice covering what shrubbery and grasses were left around the later's edge. The lake itself was frozen, though not trustworthy that it wouldn't collapse under her feet. So she remained at the edge, haunches now lowered as her silver eyes looked at the ice at the sky's reflection. Clouds were still present but the faded moon was still peeking out from time to time. It would soon be shining brightly across the east.

Lyre kept herself pretty calm and collected most of the time, but every woman had her break. She was just about ready to have hers.

Old. Nako was certainly starting to come to terms with the meaning of such a word. His little bout of reminiscing at The Range certainly put a perspective as to just home much time had passed from being a pup. And so instead of wandering back to the fjord and his family he decided upon a detour before making his way back home. Now he reminisced as a yearling at Ebony's old lands. A place slightly more familiar than that of being a pup. The lake was beautiful even as he stepped through the bushes and stood upon the snowed covered shores of the frozen waters. Loose snow blew across the smooth surface and made Nako narrowed his eyes as he stoically stood against the breeze.

Maybe there was something to catch and get a good meal before he needed to head back? Worn paws left perfect tracks in the crisp snow as he loped along with his ears on a swivel. The moons glow made thing easier even if the clouds were moving at a decent pace across the sky as even fell and the land began to fall asleep. The shimmering of the shore in the moonlight brought to his attention another wolf sitting on the, gait become less elegant as he came closer to the wolf, female, the snow being stirred and splashing away from his paws as he approached the woman. A hunting partner perhaps?

The white fur on the tips of her ears began to show and the pale russet of her pelt became clearer in the winds coming off the lake. She was revealed, as he kept his distance as soon as she noticed him, to be gorgeous. Quite so as he stopped and let his head rise to inspect her for moment before speaking. "Hello mam. Hope you don't mind me passing by this way and see what you were up to at a time and place such as this." The male had been looking around and it just so happened that she was in his way. "I'm Nako by the way." He gave a curt nod and took a seat with his tail curling around a leg. A good distraction as of late, meat could come later as he awaited conversation with this female should this continue beyond the normal meet and greet of strangers passing by.

Being a naturally friendly wolf, Lyre wouldn't be startled by his presence. She shot him a glare but smiled seeing that he was no threat. "Hello," she watched as he sat  down, curling her own tail as well, "No, I don't mind." She looked back out at the lake, seeing as it began to dim. "I just couldn't stand staying cooped up in my den all day and all night. Getting a little boring."

Bass had entrusted her with finding a way to feed the pack. She needed to track the herds but it was extremely difficult as the Alpha had said. She knew where they all went but Auster was way too far to be dragging out a meal all the way to Abaven. She needed to figure out how she could help her packmates.

But  that was a worry for tomorrow. "My name is Lyre, it's a pleasure to meet you." Though Lyre had many worries under her paws. Her home, her friends, she seemed like she was all alone in the world. Which is why she tried to add to her family to no success. She was starting to believe that she would never be able to have children. It couldn't have been her age, she had been trying for so long.  "Well then, what brings you here?"

Nako settled down where he sat and nodded in affirmation of the woman allowing him to sit by her as they both stared out over the moonlit lake. It was the second lake in a second dead land that he had purposefully come across and another woman was to be met. It was a nice reprieve from his brothers certainly and by far the only way to get news about what was changing in the lands as events and happenings were taught to him. She was away from her den? Was wanderlust also in her heart to get away from pack life? Yes, he smelling it from her pelt. Other wolves and territory radiated from her like the moons glow coming through the withers of her curves. Lyre, the woman named herself as such and the name was tested silently on his tongue.

"Likewise." Nodding politely in turn as he continued to stare out across the ice as she asked what brought him out this way in the world. Lyre seemed a decent sort and he relaxed his posture and turned to look at her. "This land was of my childhood as I became a yearling. Years ago there was a pack here, Ebony, and I for the life of me wish that I knew what happened to make it vanish even though rogue life still holds itself to be more appealing." Nako trailed off as he looked around. It was just like Seracia in terms of Ebony's end. No story to be told of when everyone went away. Just remnants and memories of those who lived and his father that always wanted to be moving. "I'm sure there are some who know somewhere, but I'm taking a bit of a break and walking my path in childhood before responsibilities of family and being a donor father got the better of me." Nako stopped after that and realized that he was talking a bit to much. Or not? It had been far to long, again, since being in a strangers presence. He wasn't any good at these sorts of things, taking to addressing Lyre's own reason for being here as a hind leg came up to scratch behind an ear. "Yourself?" The male asked. "Why's a pack wolf all the way out here?" He settled his paws and scooted a bit closer to the woman in a showing of curiosity.

Lyre would intently listen to the man, studying his body language and story. She was interested in what he had to say. She wasn't from here and pack life was a new style for her. "I grew up on the southern continent. I lived with a bunch of my friends which I guess was considered your so-called "pack."" She sighed slightly, almost agitated at her thoughts. "We happened to lose each other, but we will find ourselves again one day."

A light chuckle escaped her maw at his question, "I'm new to pack life, just trying to fit in. I need to think some on my own. Plus it's nice to have some alone time." It was true. Lyre was an extremely social wolf but she wasn't used to being around others anymore. She wanted others to  like her and she was sure that they would, but she just felt like the odd one out. Just look at her.

Her mind quickly wandered to his comment about family and him being a donor father. Was it possible that he could have been better than anyone else? "I don't mean to be rude..." She spoke quietly and awkwardly, it wasn't something you just asked a complete stranger. But she was used to this question. She had tried so many times it was getting old. It was all she wanted in the whole world and she wasn't able to bare and child yet. "Would you be willing to do me a favor?" She gave him a second to answer if he wanted to say anything, "You said you were a donor. Would you be willing to help me out?" Silver eyes looked down at the sparkling lake as flurries began to come across the surface. "I've been trying to have a child for years now. Maybe you could be the one?" She didn't look up after asking. She wasn't sure if it was because she may have shed a few tears or that the whole situation was uncomfortable for her. Maybe for him too, who knew? "I hope you're not offended, I should have asked if you were mates before asking myself."

This woman was from the south, from beyond the land bridge that separated two continents. Nako remembered that his brother and then lover had head down there with the onset of winter and came back up to rejoin the family as mates ready to bear children. He smiled at the thought and would think that his parents would be proud of their second oldest son. Lyre spoke of pack life and his attention returned to listen to the woes and worries that were being vented as eventually her sought out alone time that had brought her here. Nako's ear perked forward as she began a new inquiry, tone far more hushed as a favor was called upon. Where Lyre brought the conversation certainly wasn't what he was expecting, and thoughts began to race as another woman required help with achieving pregnancy. It had been over three years since he had become a father and whatever doubts he'd had long ago had matured away.

Nako looked away from her. She was pretty enough, certainly, and his gaze turned to watch over the lake as she spoke that years of trying had yielded nothing successful he shifted on his paws and that perhaps she would be lucky with him. Nako was quick in his stride to be next to Lyre and licked away the tears before they could fall. He nosed her cheek and let a hum rumble forth from his chest. "I am a lone rogue Lyre. The only consequences are those that I make for myself..." Nako nuzzled harder against the cheek of the woman. "I only hope that the pack I smell on you would be as forgiving should you affirm that this is what you want." There was a certain truth to his words. His father had played a dangerous game once and had gotten himself banished. Lyre would have to dip in the chilly water and wash his scent away if she wanted this but he would set that term in a moment as he helped console this want to be mother.

Lyre was taken aback. There were such rules? This seemed very wrong to her and it was something that she would fight tooth and nail for. Who is someone to tell another that they can't have children? She herself obviously didn't believe in having a mate in order to have babies. As long as you weren't having children to eat them or something, what was he big deal?

"If those wolves understand what I have gone through, they wouldn't care. It's something I will fight for." And she wasn't a fighter.

The woman would sit still as the man came in closer and licked her cheeks, she wasn't even sure if she had been crying. Had she? It was one of those moments where you couldn't control or describe the emotions. They were just there and out in the open. Here she was, yet again, asking a stranger for what others believed was wrong and she believed was right.

"Nako," She spoke softly, trying to be personal and succeeding. She was a broken record, everything she had said to him was said more than once or twice. She had grown used to the fact. "This is what i want. If you, a stranger, are willing to help another out I would be grateful." She leaned into him with her shoulder. This was always the awkward part. Leading up to the escalation. It never meant anything. Maybe way back when she first tried a couple of times, but this was only for her unborn children. She wanted them to survive.

This contact was nice. Even as a paw wrapped around her shoulder and tightened the limb's embrace for a moment to help console her Nako decided that this was acceptable. Lyre had spoke of fighting for what she wanted. And although he didn't exactly think that she would fight to make him be surrogate to a few whelps inside of her, if the pack wolves of the more stricter variety tried to punish her would certainly be facing her teeth. Woes to those that wanted to fight a mother. Lyre spoke with a new gentleness to her voice and affirmed that this was what she wanted as she pressed a shoulder against him.

A part of Nako didn't want to. Honeyed words only got one so far. Appearance only got one so far. Lyre was openly giving herself to him for his enjoyment and the she-wolf would be all his. He could convince her to try for a few days and make sure she walked away with a rounder belly. A far more acceptable and romantic prospect than any of his past flings. But no, he would have one chance before he would have to leave and let Lyre return to her pack. "Alright," He found himself saying. "but you must understand two conditions." Nako stood on all fours and gave his pelt a shake. "I want you to wash my scent when this is done and I want you to know before we begin that your enjoyment may not be assured but I will try and make it so." A bold truth. To want end would he go to find her a release when all that was required was his? Nako jerked his muzzle in a 'turn around gesture' and waited to hear if she would want to add an addendum to his conditions before they began.

In her mind she didn't see the point in "washing off his scent" afterwords. She wasn't aware of these stupid rules and to what extent they could go to. Granted, if she were pregnant and homeless it would be difficult but she knew she could do it. She shook her head in agreement.

"It's okay." She assured him about satisfying her. Turning around, she would continue, "This isn't the first time." Reminding him of her multiple tries.

She would hunker down and prepare herself. He wouldn't hurt her or anything. Of course these things usually needed a little pushing before entering but so long as he was able Lyre wouldn't drive him into role play or anything like that. She wasn't sure if she would ever feel true love or whatever it was a man and woman did when they were in love. This was all she knew how to do and she knew that when she finally had babies, she would love them, and their father wouldn't need to be in the picture. Unless he wanted to, she would be more than willing for him to be there. It was only a matter of time.

Lyre agreed, or at least the terms were set and were acceptable for her. Nako's thoughts reflected on Marina and the lead up to their midnight dalliance that rounded her belly and wondered if such success would be found here. As Lyre turned around and spoke that it wasn't the first time he mentally braced himself at the offered body before him as the woman readied herself for physical union. Perhaps his younger years success would carry over to where he was in his life right now. Lyre wasn't in season so there was that fact to contend with on her side. The she wolf was pretty enough, certainly, thoughts turning to the somewhat romantic location they both found themselves in and the poetic irony that in a dead land there was potential for life. This was in his blood. The drive was strong once a woman was before him but he held off and glanced around the lake and its surroundings. What pack she belonged to he didn't know.

White paws dipped through the snow as his muzzle touched above her hip and nose sniffed a speckled thigh as he stepped to place himself by her left shoulder. A kiss was given behind her ear. An action for his own sake. Their bodies were now parallel and his jaws reached over the smaller wolf to grab a hold of Lyre scruff in a firm grip. Nako swung his right foreleg over her shoulders to lifted himself onto Lyres backside with a hitched breath. It had been some time since his last female but the motions were familiar, instinctual, as his paws settling along the underside of Lyre hips to rest securely against her belly. There was no warning save for a tightening of his jaws that held the bristled scruff that belonged to the woman. Lyre would now know that with the first purposeful motion, other than the firm grip on her neck, that her beauty would remain un-corrupted by the rogue as a simple request was satisfied.

It wouldn't take long for Lyre to recover. She was laying down for a moment before standing and walking down to look at the lake. Staring down for another moment, she would then enter it one paw after the other, preparing for the frozen swim. Shivering while finally fully in the lake, the water coming up a little under the top of her shoulder, she would turn and look at the male.

"Do you... uh..." She scratched behind her  ear, her neck now getting soaked as well, "Would you like to know? About the children."

She asked kindly, not sure if he wanted to or not. Some did and some didn't and Lyre had no problem raising the child or children on her own. But she knew men could be tricky. She had no attachment to the man before her but maybe he wanted one with his children. Even if he already had some.

Nako remained standing off to the side on slightly shaking hind legs after his part in Lyres request was over and done with. It took a bit of time but the end result was satisfaction for both, Nako's mismatched eyes giving a lazy blink as he watched the woman as she lay on her side. Rough was a bit to strong a term but she seemed to recover from it well enough as she stood and made her way into the water with minimal trepidation. Nako joined her. Keep things fair and mutual. The water wrapped around his limbs, the cold traveling up from his paws to his shoulders in a drawn out sensation that made him quake with a violent shiver.

Lyre asked if he would want to know his children, Nako eyeing her as he wadded over to help the woman tends to her bitten neck scruff. Thoughts reflected on his first litter, even if that bond was only for a short time as they grew into juveniles. Bitterness had only resulted from his first litter, but for Lyre... "I wouldn't mind. I'm getting up in age and not really wooing the amount of females my father would've wanted me to." It was a lighthearted joke with a grain of truth. Nako gave a lick against Lyre's neck to help clean up the woman. He hoped for her sake that she would have pups. Such a curse to be riddled with barrenness and not experience the joy of young. Even if it was for a short period of time.
