Desdemona had fallen into an exhausted sleep. She was a Queen now, but at what cost, she had killed Kaien upon a field of death, and turned Tortuga on its axis with several new changes and was in the process of revamping damn near everything. She had a great deal of plans and very little time to see them all to term. Her teeth would grate against one another, preparing for the anxiety these next few weeks would bring. She had much to discuss with Demonio, but guilt still weighed her down, like a lead brick in the pit of her stomach. These next few weeks she would scarcely be in Tortuga, save for overseeing the tournament. She had much to speak with him about this morning and thus, had left quite early.

Her eyes still burned from the moisture that had vacated her iris last evening and her body felt sore and stiff from the lengthened stretch of time she had lain beside him, crying and bursting at the seams in a desperate plea to get him to stay. To forgive her, to never stop loving her. She would never replace him. He was all there was for her, she knew that now. She had risen long before the sun breeched the sky. She had been met with Demonio's maw, draped around her neck, obsidian nose pressed against her snout, loving even in his sleep. One of his legs had rested a top her slowly moving chest and their tails were simply a white mess of tangled poof. It had taken her several minutes to figure out what belonged to whom and to untangle herself without disturbing his rest. Luckily when she had pulled away, he slumbered on and she was left to vanish into Tortuga.

She had left so early to bring him back a treat, a rare delicacy that Tortuga normally did not get. Ducks, migrating to the south, swooped down to rest in the pools and rivers carved into the mountain, it had been one of her favorites back in the day and she hoped Demonio would enjoy them too. Tracking the scent of the flock, she traced it to a small crystalline pool and without a second thought, she was gone. Bolting through the water, scattering the ducks to the winds, they would fly in a chaotic jumble. She would snap one out of the air, drop it, lunge and snag the second. A quick snap of two necks and the rest of the flock would vanish, but Desdemona held her prizes and slowly she would pace back to her den.

Demonio was still sound asleep and laying the birds at the mouth of her den, she would pause, taking a moment to really look at her lover. Emotion clogged her chest and she silently thanked whoever would listen for giving him too her. God he was so beautiful. he was everything, everything she could ever hope to ask for and there was nothing, nothing in this world that was worth his love. He made her weak, but undeniably strong all at the same time. He was the one thing she would give Tortuga up for, simply because she would fail if he was not supporting her.

She would pace forward, moving to collapse behind him, habitually her teeth would find his right ear, tugging playfully to awaken him. her tongue would slip from her maw and bathe the side of his cheek, his snout, the space between his eyes and any other place she could reach, trying to steal him from his dreams.

And so the couple had talked. Desdemona asking for forgiveness and Demonio presenting her with it. There wasn't much else to it. She had committed a mistake. Not a grave one, but a mistake nonetheless. Everyone made mistakes. The ivory knight knew that from personal experience. His love for her was so great that he would always pardon her. There was no mistake to big that she could commit that he wouldn't pardon. After all they weren't perfect. He was sure he might commit a mistake of his own and he would hope that his lovely wife would be able to pardon it as he had pardoned hers. Love conquers all in the end.

After the long day the pair had retired to their den, entangling themselves in a mass of bleached fur and limbs. Peace settled about Demonio as he'd settled his head down to sleep that night, Desdemona's familiar figure pressed against his, an extension of his own body. He slept soundly, no horrible nightmares plaguing his dreams. He hadn't been aware of the extense of his exhaustion until his wife had lulled him to her side with the promise of sleep. His weary muscles had sunk ungracefully to the den floor, glad for the reprieve from constant movement. The millions of thought that had been firing through his mind hours earlier were now stilled, unecessary as of now. His queen was curled up at his side, sleeping peacefully just how they were always supposed to be. Things were going to be fine.

And then morning came, the sun's warmth seeping through the den floor to warm up his underbelly. It wasn't strong enough to wake him from his slumber so of course his wife was able to detangle herself from him to escape from their den to go who knows where. Demonio was never the wiser, his exhausted body keeping him firmly rooted in the land of dreams. It wasn't until his angel had returned from her short outing, her warm body pressed against his as her inscicors nipped at his ear, her tongue lapping at his exposed facade that he finally roused from his sleep. Lids blinked slowly, gaze blurry and unable to fully discern shapes. He blinked a few more times, chasing away the sleepiness until his vision cleared, Desdemona's beautiful face coming into crystal clear view. A sleep smile curled itself across his maw as he yawned, jaws gaping wide before he chased the yawn away, presenting his wife with a kiss to her cute nose, a rumble of a laugh echoing in his massive chest as he lifted himself to rest of his stomach. It was always an amazing day at the side of the most amazing woman in the world.

Nostrils twitched with attention, having caught a whiff of blood. At first he thought it came from Desdemona but upon further inspection he realized it was from a kill. Bi-colored jewels flicked to the source of the smell, realizing she had brought back ducks. Duck for breakfast. That was certainly a first for him. You brought breakfast my sweet angel? He whispered huskily, tongue lashing out to caress the underside of her jaw this time, burying his nose in her neck as he waited for a reply.

It rendered her still and speechless how easily he was able to capture her. She wasn't sure how long she had spent admiring his form sleeping on the floor of their den. His chest rising and falling with each deep and steady breath. She had near lost him. Her selfishness and near-sighted ambition had nearly cost her the one thing she held most dear. Her two-toned gaze traversed the length of his bodice as he slumbered peacefully, she was tempted to leave him be, to let him slumber long into the morning, God knows he needed it, God knows she needed it, but she couldn't yet rest. She had packs to see too, Valhalla, Glaciem... perhaps even a trip to the rest would be mandatory, hopefully Nnoitra would be willing to help her. She needed him to awaken, she had places to go, people to see too an alliance.

She watched him, not bothering to hide her love or adoration for him as he slowly came awake, eyes blinking back the refuse of sleep and jaws splaying wide in a heavy yawn, he would turn to her, pink ribbon lapping at the tip of her nose as a laugh rumbled up through his chest. A smile cracked the stony facade of her visage and she nuzzled the side of his maw, eyes falling shut and ears falling to rest against her cranium as a contented purr rumbled up through her vocals. Her muscles relaxed, her body leaning into his own. She was safe here, he had forgiven her, they would be fine.

He smelled her mornings kill and his voice would rumble, still thick with sleep, caressing her ears like a silky promise, she shivered against him, suppressing the soft moan as his tongue lashed the underside of her jaw, his face burying into the nape of her neck. She rumbled her contentment, her own tongue bathing his neck in soft kisses. She would be content to lie here forever with him, she loved him dearly. She blinked tiredly. Eyes falling to her kill. "Always, for you." Her voice was soft, gentle, rumbling with the whisper in which she breathed the words into his skin. She trapped him in her embrace, unwilling to release him, but with a grumble, she rose to retrieve their meal before collapsing in the same spot, winding her neck around the base of his own in a loving embrace.

"I suppose the best place to start would be with my banishment of Morphine. Do you have any of your own questions before I begin?" Her lyrics would fall into the strong muscles of his shoulder as she awaited his response.

Things were changing quickly. Kaien was dead, the white woman who had been queen was now nowhere to be seen and his beautiful wife was now ruling the pack that they had decided to call their own. It had been a day and night change, practically happening in the blink of an eye. It was unexpected and most definitely uncalled for, but perhaps that's what Tortuga needed. Demonio wasn't terribly involved in the politics of it all. His only concern was keeping his wife well and serving the now dead king. But since Desdemona took the throne, the ivory knight began to realize that perhaps things weren't as he'd always thought them to be.

And it was her smile, like the sun breaking through clouds that sent all other thoughts away. Right now, in this very moment, nothing that wasn't Desdemona mattered. She was his life, his everything and she was all he was going to ever need. A shudder ran the length of his body as she pressed her head against his throat, nuzzling his maw in the process as she rumbled with content. His own answering rumble vibrated through his chest, allowing his frame to press against hers, to just feel her. Everything was perfect. Her voice, her sweet melodic, angelic, heaven-created voice drifted into his ears, stealing his focus. Her voice was his favorite sound in the world and he would never, ever get tired of hearing it. Her nape wound tightly around his, embracing him, holding him to her. His own neck wrapped even tighter around hers, wishing he could mold her into himself and keep her there always, safe and sound. Alas, the spell was broken as his wife rose to retrieve their breakfast, her absence short-lived as she quickly returned to her spot, returning to her loving embrace.

Her hold on him did not loosen as she buried her face into his shoulder, her words muffled against his coat as she spoke. Morphine. Was that the white woman whom Kaien had shared the throne with? He untangled himself from her embrace, nuzzling her crown up so that he could look her in the eyes as she spoke. Would Morphine be the white woman Kaien had allowed to rule with him? He asked, already having a suspicion she was but needing confirmation.

She had twined her bodice around her lovers, even with a conversation as serious as this, she needed to touch him, needed to feel the beat of his heart the warmth of his flesh. He was beautiful and she was so utterly taken by him, she always had been and she always would be, Demonio was the very core of her world, nothing, nothing else mattered if the male of white was not beside her. She would cease to function without him, she knew that, it would only be a matter of time. But now, or so it seemed, time had granted her a boon, she had just turned six, and she still had time to live and grow a family beside her lover. Beautiful, breath-taking pups! It made her heart stutter and her breath catch. She buried her maw in his fur, inhaling his scent.

"Morphine was. My battle with Kaien, hardly had a chance to begin, almost as soon as the match began Kaien submitted. He told me the people of Tortuga hated him and he had no desire to live and feel that hatred any longer. I ended his life and Morphine showed up. It was quite clear she would never accept me as her Queen, she wasn't willing to step down. She called me horrible things but it all summed up to an insipid fool. She challenged me to a battle of dominance, I denied her." She paused here, giving him a moment to absorb everything.

" Valhalla's bond with us in is shambles, Nnoitra had begun to establish a bond with Amenti, the two of us are traveling first to Amenti and then to Valhalla. I, myself, will go alone to Glaciem, Vi is going to Seracia, and Nnoitra is going to Ludicael. Not necessarily to form alliances, but to learn a bit more about the packs and to get a bit more insight on the way the different kingdoms are run." Desdemona stopped talking and awaited his response, there was quite a lot to take in.

She twined herself around the alabaster brute, needing to touch him, to feel him beside her, to know that he was really here with her. And he felt the exact same way. He needed to have her within his embrace, to know that she was physically here with him, unharmed and safe and sound. She had quickly become the brute's entire reason for existing, the sole purpose he had been put on this earth for. She was his entire world, his wife, his soul mate, the most unbelievably perfect woman in all of existence. Without her, life would no longer have a point and he wasn't too sure how long he would be able to last without her. They were both getting older, he could feel it with himself and his wife as well, but their ages were of little importance. They were here now, together with each other and that was all that mattered. A shiver ran down his spine as she buried her muzzle in the fur of his chest, her breath tickling his hairs, a gentle curling his lips.

And then she was speaking, wiping the loving smile from his fa?ade as she explained the circumstances of the battle with Kaien. The king had willingly given up his life because the hatred spewing from his very pack was unbearable. Demonio was disheartened to see that. He had always thought his ex-king to be a good ruler, but then again, he'd never really gotten involved in the politics of a pack. But after the fight with Kaien, the white witch Morphine had come, to challenge his wife to a battle of dominance, but Desdemona being the bigger woman, denied the wench. A growl rumbled in his chest at the thought of that wench touching a single hair on her beautiful body. I will rip her miserable paws from her body if she ever thinks of coming near you again. He rumbled threateningly, a promise ringing true in his words before he allowed her to continue. She described the process of going to the rest of the packs, Valhalla, Amenti, Glaciem, Seracia and Ludiceal and forming treaties with some while trying to learn more about the others. He wasn't too worried about it, he knew his wife and the elder king would be able to handle it.

What you need me to do to help mi amor, I will gladly do so. Demonio reached out to her, salmon tongue snaking from his jaws to swipe at her cheek in a gentle kiss, icy and maroon gems intent on her own dual-toned eyes, wondering what she would say to that.
