Losing My Religon

He didn't leave to explore, he didn't vanish without telling anyone where he was going, he obeyed his parents absolutely perfectly and if at all possible the young lad had grown even more quiet and reserved. Since that rather ferocious outburst, he had never raised his tone and had barely spoken at all besides a soft. 'yes mom' or 'sure papa' he was polite and respectful when spoken too and even to his siblings he had spoken on and off with. Nothing of substantial value, most spoke to him in passing little more and little less, it seemed they had finally figured out he would never play their games. He remained within Valhalla's borders, had been for the past several weeks. he returned to his parents den at a reasonable time and answered any of their questions. he had expected his mom or possibly his dad to sit down with him, really talk.... but neither had and he couldn't decide if he was disappointed or not. he didn't want to talk about it, but he did. It was odd this confliction. As long as he played the perfect gent, the kind elder sibling and the good son, he couldn't hurt them anymore right? With a huff he collapsed, gangly body sprawling out in the thick snow. his maw rested on the very edge of the lake, the ice chilling the pup, making him shiver. It was a good cold, one that reminded him of a lot of things. He smiled if only slightly, he didn't have much faith in his mothers words and already they began to slip from his brain, it seemed like all they wished to do was push his little episode to the past and forget it ever happened and he supposed he could pretend too when he was with them. He didn't want to worry them, he didn't want to make them sad. He loved his family despite what they thought about him.

The small, yet large, black and white fur ball trotted through the snow. White ears swiveling atop a black head and white tipped black tail waving through the air. He was listening carefully for his mothers call that he knew would come if he wondered off to far. Aqua blue eyes watched for others...for some one to talk to or possibly play with.
It wasn't long before Ravine had spotted the other black boy laying in the snow. With a smile on his face and a slowed pace he walked up to him. He didn't smell dangerous either so the boy didn't worry about caution, and stopped a little more than a foot away. He wondered only for a moment what his brother and sister might be doing before talking "Hi...I'm Ravine, whats your name" he wasn't a very hyper pup, but rather a bit silly and quite layed back. It took a lot to upset him and he was quite willing to listen and try to understand.

The cold seeped into his flesh, he had not developed a winter coat yet and he was quickly chilled. A hum, a rumble drifted up through his vocals and he let out an exaggerated breath. He liked that bitter sting of winter. It sunk into him like a loving embrace, it reminded him of his mothers touch, it warmed and froze him all at the same time, such a strange paradox. He could not find the strength to move nor did he wish too, he liked this blissful tranquility of peace, would have been content to lie there. Simply breathing, forever. A voice, a ringing from some far off land, a melody, shattered his momentary bit of tranquility and dual oculars lazily blinked back sleep, slowly he roused himself, lifting his head, a task that seemed herculean and tried to focus on the figure before him. His brain informed him that this pup was another Valhallen and that he should quickly regain his politeness before his family discovered that he slipped up...again. He cleared his throat, thin tail flickering plaintively behind him and settling against his side. ?Honor to meet you Ravine...names Gabriel, can I help you with somethin'??

It seemed to take the other boy a few minuets to even realize that he was another pup. The other looked sleepy at first and then maybe a bit annoyed before sitting down with his tail at his side. When Gabriel gave his name he had also said it was an Honor to meat him and he wanted to know if he could help him. Ravine wasn't sure what Honor was but he smiled regardless as he thought for a moment. Come to think of it he was pretty sure he didn't need any help with anything. "Nice to meat you Gabriel, and no I don't need help with anything."
Ravine wondered why Gabriel sounded so formal but didn't ask. The boy simply sat down and wrapped his long fluffy tail around himself. He looked around and then back to Gabriel "so, what ya doin out here in the snow all alone?"

Gabriel slowly rumbled up to his haunches, presenting himself a bit more respectfully that sprawled haphazardly across the snow. His strangely two toned eyes peered at the pup about his age whom was still starring at him, he wondered what was so fascinating about his own persona, he wasn't that interesting... was he? The answer to his question came quickly and he paused, frowning only slightly, if this pup didn't want anything of him... than why was he here? The politeness was returned, but Gabriel was confused. The next question made him hesitate, he didn't feel like listing all of the things that were currently bothering him. Ears swung backwards to pin against his skull and he shifted uneasily. ?I like the cold, it feels good against my fur. What about you? What're you doing out here all alone?? His voice was low and smooth, almost as though he was afraid he would shatter some unseen peace.
