She just had to go exploring. Her thoughts were beyond sarcastic at this point. She'd left Nox a while ago with the full confidence that her companion would catch up. Spring was here and yet the north had been so full of snow - she'd practically buried herself in her den to avoid it. She hated feeling cold all the time so a trip had felt more than needed. Of course her leopard friend had loved every minute of it, but Nox was built for such weather. Armai on the other hand practically drowned in it. So hiding had been her solution despite the fact she hated that almost as much as the snow.
So she'd headed off on her own and gotten herself lost.
Which naturally led to her going into some cave. The smell of iron and other earthy scents was heavy in her nostrils and the sound of trickling water was easily a pleasant thing for her ears. She could even hear the constant drip, drip, drip of water coming from the stalactites. Her nose lowered to the ground and she padded slowly deeper into the cave. The darkness certainly wouldn't bother her - in fact she didn't noticed it all since her world was constantly nothing but darkness anyways.
It wasn't until her feet hit nothing but air, a small drop off, and she tumbled head over heels that she realized the horrible situation she'd gotten herself in to. She lay on the ground panting for a moment, adrenaline singing through her blood, before sitting up straight to access the damage. She moved one limb at a time to test their functionality and found that, other than a minor shoulder ache, everything seemed in tact. Now the only problem was how did she get back to the entrance. She raised her snout to the air to test it, but between the water, stale air, and the earthen smells she couldn't make heads or tails of the place.

<3 I hope you dont mind me somewhat assuming Zach lurked undetected for a bit, if not let me know and I can rewrite. :)
there was a moment where he questioned his take to the mountain, perhaps it was upon that day where the young boy among the delta had questioned him. (How his eyes, so very focused and intent on speaking to the head that swung among the feverish sea of grass with the mountain range swept behind it) foolish it was, intent on attention giving and for a soft regard now he stood instead of keeping to the riverside incase the child returned. Part of him wanted the kid to, so the curly haired boy could teach the young child to fly fish and he could grow to be quiet. Something about appreciating the silence, just the sound of the water. He would tell him that his home was in the water now, something about feeling the cold spring water burn his legs reminded him of how the snow once did upon his peaked residence. (It was a shitty apartment in New Jersey, 1950s, the pipes rattled)
There is a crease in his cream cheeks, how the lined black lips are taken to a firm line as he spots a hole into the mountain. a crease, cave, ravine, or perhaps even where an troll lived that ate young children's eyes. the thought of teasing the kid, who the freshly adult man couldnt seemed to not think about it. Call it a first friend, or paranoia. He'd say paranoia. His eyes narrowed in a sharp twist as he spotted something other then darkness, a rump to say the least and for a moment he watched before his slow investigating took too. Slowly taking up footsteps, a good 30ft or so behind the woman who seemed to sway as she walked before suddenly it was as if she was within a cartoon and fell into a black hole to nothingness. "Miss?!" It's a sudden paniced tone, and he was no longer worried of his quiet..stalking to be exposed. His body shot forward in his timber folds, toes gripping at the edge in which she seemed to of been eaten by. "Miss? Are you okay?" He asks again, beckoning into a tight darkness as suddenly he begins an attempt at climbing down. Aquatic features stringing the side which had been eroded into a smooth wall from extended rain-fall over years and years of summer storms, and for this did he decide to keep place upon his small podium.
Her assessment was complete and yet Armai felt like a complete fool. Her bruising would go away in time, but her bruised ego would certainly remain. It wasn't the first time that she'd taken a tumble, that was a constant with her blindness, but it still hurt all the same. She felt like she couldn't function without Nox and that made it all the more frustrating. She wanted to be able to walk by herself without tumbling over drops, but it seemed that wouldn't be the case for a while. Maybe she'd grown too comfortable with having her companion around all the time? Her thoughts were scatted as a voice called out to her. "Miss?!" Her ears flattened and her sightless eyes widened at the prospect of someone having seen her unceremonious tumble. If she could have blushed her face would have been stop-sign-red. She moved her heard to focus on where the voice came from and judged it to be the way she'd come from which was a giant help, but it didn't make her feel any better. In fact the male's next words only bruised her ego more. Miss? Are you okay?" So he had seen that. Too late to take it back now. She could even hear him walking towards her - she doubted her day could get much worse. "I'm fine, just bruised." She called out to him. "And clumsy." She muttered irritably mostly to herself.
