The more she traveled, the stranger this place got. After her odd encounter in the marsh, she'd continued in a curve along the coast. Something about the sea was alluring to her, as she'd grown up without it. She'd never been in water deeper than a shallow creek. It was fascinating to see something so expansive, something where the depth was unknown and the end never seemed to come. As Nati walked, she'd begun noticing a coastline rising from the horizon and knew she needed to get there, to see more. But first she needed to spend some time exploring here.
If she'd thought it was odd to cross plains and deserts in the same day, the lands she'd continued to encounter were miraculous. A deep ravine, a dangerous brier patch, and now, a black sand beach. Her first beach and the sand was black. That was not something she'd heard about in the legends. It glittered in the sunlight so brightly that she had to narrow her eyes, but her jaw still slackened slightly in awe. Nati had never even imagined something like this.
