On The Road Again

Vyper had lulled to a discontent quiet and the last time Armai had returned, well it was easy to tell not much had changed. Their latest pack activity, the hunt, in winter had been a bust. Barely any had shown up which should have been a sign right then and there. Armai didn't like the idea of losing hope in the pack that she called home, but with the way things were going things looked pretty bleak as it was. It was like a repeat of Myriad, except this time there weren't wolves on the inside trying to tear the pack down. She hadn't seen hide nor tail of Brutus either which was rather saddening. She'd quite liked her friendship with the male. Perhaps he'd gone off again to look for his friend? In any case he hadn't told her about it. She could only hope that he did well with wherever he was, even if she missed his company. She hadn't even seen Xephyris around lately either. After that it just left Memphis and Jaelle and she wasn't even sure of their whereabouts either. With nothing better to do the silver woman had decided to head south. She still wanted to stock up on some herbs and Nox didn't object. The journey had been simple enough until Nox swatted her with her tail as a motion for her to stop. Curiosity got the better of her and Armai ventured forth slowly and was surprised when her nose touched something solid. She then raised up on her hind legs and put her front paws on the structure only to find that it was much taller than her and apparently fairly wide. Why else would they have stopped. Dropping back down to all fours she flicked an ear to Nox. "Do you see a way around or over it?" The cat took a long moment to answer her. Nox surveyed both sides of the wall and couldn't find any nearby gaps or even any lower portions of the wall. "Not that I can see. We'll have to walk farther down." Walk, "Talk" Think "Nox" |

Herb hunting for: Bonset
He hated the cold, his thin coat could never stand up to harsh winds or snow, especially not with the balding patches in his pelt from constant fidgeting and nervous ticks. He walked along the wall with his head lowered, his bicolored eyes drifting listlessly to the ground in front of him, searching the icy ground for anything that might be useful, if only because it would take his mind off the cold. He gave a small whine, looking up from the ground as the wind blew through his silky fur to the top of the wall. It was far more unusual than anything he had ever seen; completely flat like a boulder in a river, and extremely tall, as if Yosep himself had come down from the moon and placed it like a mother places food for her pups. He gave it a cursory sniff and sneezed before wiping his cold nose on his wrist. Whatever it was, it was far too strange for his taste and sent a shiver up his thin spine. He turned his nose back to the ground and kept moving, his tail waving behind him as he inspected the small shrubs lining The Wall for anything useful. He looked ahead and saw that the Thing cut off at some point and ceased existing, he had no intention of pushing further north but the idea of finding useful put a small jump in his gaint. talk |

A soft sigh left the silver woman at the thought of having to detour to get out of the north. She honestly hated the place. It carried nothing but sour memories. She'd been born in the north to a family that hated her guts, save for Calder, and she'd only moved here because of Xephyris. He'd promised an everlasting home, one that could stand up united against anything, and yet like everything she'd ever been a part of it had crumbled. Not that Vyper's members had been much better. Limno had run off and abandoned her children, Jaelle had tendencies to wander, and she hadn't seen much of Kasai either. Brutus had disappeared and really Armai was surprised the pack had held up as long as it had. "Alright then." She huffed. "Lets walk farther down and see if we can get out of this frozen wasteland." Nox shrugged and flicked her tail a few times. She preferred the north's temperatures (she was a snow leopard after all) but she wasn't one to complain too often. She didn't mind where they went so long as it wasn't a desert and there were easy places where she could hunt. The pair trudged along the wall for a while longer before Nox's pace slowed as she inspected the area in front of them. Armai's ears flicked forward out of curiosity and she took a long sniff. "The wall has finally come to an end. Are you sure you want to leave?" "I'm sure. Come on, let's go." She said confidently before striding forward. She didn't get very long before the duo came to a halt. Nox's hackles rose and Armai was instantly hit with the masculine scent of another wolf. "Who's there?" Walk, "Talk" Think "Nox" |
