Hello darkness, my old friend...

I've come to talk with you again!

It was hard not to see the beauty in the orchards. Everywhere an assortment of pink, red, white and yellow flowers losing their petals to the summer heat. They readied themselves for the fall bounty he supposed, and to make the most out of the season, bees continued the late spring rush for nectar and with them came the mindless hum of their wings as they droned on and on. It was though the arrival of summer brought the male out to play, and it was among the fruit-bearing trees that he found what he was looking for. It was oddly placed, but rightly so, and seemed as though it had been put there just for him to discover. Amidst the chaos of the tangled orchard, and the buzzing of bees, the calls of various song birds and the bright warmth of the sun in the clear blue sky there was a rock formation that he had never seen before. It lay bathed in sun, and seemed just long enough for him to recline on, with a rock back and two more rocks below it to raise it off the ground. A throne of sorts for the fertility king.

Leaping up to take his spot, Alyx lets his blue eyes close as he lowered himself to lay across the stone. Its warmth rose to caress his underbelly, his muscled frame catching the suns rays as he bathed in light. His silvery frame was washed in white from the sun, the tan of his markings seemed bright yellow, his whites were whiter. He practically shone in the darkness of the orchard. Soon he was dozing with his head on his paws, ears listening to the bees as he did. It was peaceful, for now, but he knew eventually there would be a wolf along. His quiet never lasted long.

Trudging her way through the persistent chill of the northern region, as she'd come to find it was, had been the most irritating waste of her time. It started with losing her brother, her only source of entertainment and a reason to get her lazy butt moving most of the time, then she'd been avoiding his little slave girl. Mara doubted that pathetic little scrap of fluff would find her dear sibling without some help. The thought made her chuckle, turning her amber gaze on these much more pleasant lands that stretched out ahead of the scarred female. Warmer? Check. That's all she really cared about at this moment. Warmth, peace and quiet.

Coming upon a stand of fruit-bearing trees, she slowed her pace to take in the sights. It was so... pretty. Ugh. Her ears flicked back in response to the idea that pretty things usually drew in wolves who liked to look at them. Grumbling, she pressed on, only to find her alone time once more interrupted by the presence of pale colored wolf, lounging on some high rocks. Marching her way right up to it, Mara eyed the other wolf quietly for a while, then called, "Get off."

Her tail arched high, announcing her dominant frame of mind. She'd set her sights on a prize; it would be hers, one way or another.

Get off. The acidic tone had the male's eyes opening lazily, and he looked over the dark woman who ordered him off his new-found throne. His lips lifted in a sardonic grin and he eyed her carefully, ears perked forward with interest at her dominant stance. A scoff of sorts was issued then, and he settled more comfortably on his pile of rocks. "How 'bout no, sweet-cheeks?" His tone is more than an instigation, the way she seemed to want the rock he was sure she would start a fight. It was practically singing from her. She had a rugged sort of beauty to her, though the scars either added to or took away from her overall look. He wasn't quite sure yet.

Whether she attacked or tried again to boss him from his spot in the sun, he hardly cared. He had the high ground, and he wasn't giving it up. Unless she gave it up, then he might be inclined to share...

Her lips began to curl at the man's lack of response, tail swishing irritably. That grin just about sent her leaping on top of him. Maybe she could wipe it off by bashing his face into the rocks he was hogging... Nah. Letting herself settle, she growled and leapt up onto the rocks without a word in response, nearly stepping on the pale man in the process. She then proceeded to turn around and attempt to shove him off by pushing at him with her hind legs. She wasn't sure if she'd succeed, but she liked the idea of watching him tumble down while she took this prime spot for herself.

Growling again, this time with an air of amusement she shot back, "Mm, how about yes? Get off." If Mara were the type to play games, this would be the kind of thing she'd be doing. Being grumpy all the time and irritated by the actions of others left her wanting to share the feeling. And what better way to amuse herself right now, than the shove this oaf off the spot she desired.

He sat up when she leapt up despite his objections, but rather than anger, the man felt only a sick sort of amusement. When she turned and began to push at him with her hind legs, Alyx reached out and aimed to plant a firm warning on her haunches. He dug in and pushed his chest back against her, hoping to see her fall on her face. "Well, all you gotta do is move your tail..." The silver Casanova gave her a debonair smile and a wave of his tail, turning her words into a sexual innuendo, just for fun. She seemed prickly enough to be fun, and he had grown utterly bored in his solitude. Perhaps, this was some mercy sent from his kin in the heavens. It was his first true encounter with a woman from these lands, he ought to make the most of it.

She was determined now. This was a challenge, a game she planned on winning. If he thought the bite to her haunches would do shit he was wrong; the only response was a snarl that tore through the air between them.

When the man rose to push back she took the opportunity to twist around, using her flexibility to her advantage and turning a semi circle back towards the man on the limited space the rock provided. The momentum sent her flying towards his midsection. Maybe he'd be the one to go flying? She could hope at least, responding to his earlier words with a growl, "All you gotta do is get off this rock, you oaf, and my mood will be significantly improved."
