But for Alex, it made all of the sense in the world. It was just the way she was -- she wore her heart on her sleeve, and cared for everyone she stumbled across, no matter how nice or mean they were to her. Each and every person was special, and she always tried to make everyone she happened to cross paths with happy. She liked to see others smile, but it was something special to know they were smiling because of something she had said or done. It was hard to lose her trust, to lose her friendship, but Kennedy had managed that. Not even Sky had been able to manage it the year previously, when she'd practically cut off all ties between them, so the fact that Kennedy had been able to, so easily, was saying something. But the fact that Alex seemed to be able to bounce back from her discontent over all things Kennedy so easily, just from seeing the girl in distress, said something else all together: forgiveness was your best friend, and it was not something to be given sparingly. Everyone deserved a second chance, and this was Kennedy's. Perhaps the trust wasn't all there, not like it used to be, but Alex was still being a good person. She was still being herself, despite all the pain that Kennedy had put her through. The pain that Skylar made practically nonexistent, now.
