Spring had taken Auster firmly in it's grasp, likely due to the relatively mild winter. The young growth of many plants had shown early signs of life, with buds appearing long before he might have expected them, and it seemed overnight as if the world had exploded with greenery. Ankaios had set out early, tail held high in a brilliant plume of wholehearted excitement. He was of a mind to spend the entirety of his day collecting the youngest of early spring herbs, knowing that many were at their most palatable not long after their initial spurt of growth. He would seek garlic, surely, and wild onion as well. Both would be useful against infection, and he had half a mind to leave the pungent plants scattered about the cellar he had made his den to keep the spiders and other such unfavorables away. Dock would certainly have sprouted by now, though it would be best to wait a moon or two before harvesting that.

Alfalfa, chamomile, hyssop, he chanted to himself. Milk thistle, nettle, red clover. Ankaios knew he lacked the knowledge of many other healers, but he was proud of what he had learned since leaving his homeland with no knowledge at all. He was certain the plains his new pack had claimed had many and more of these to offer him, it was only a matter of finding them and familiarizing himself with the nooks and crannies of what he now called 'Home.' Kai was of a mind to seek out pack mates first, perhaps to enlist help but also to see who among them might be interested in learning a bit about healing themselves. He had no notion of where to look, and had not been able to find Dragon unoccupied by the daily tasks of managing the pack. Oh well, he concluded. If he found others while out and about he'd be more than happy for them to tag along.

She stared wide eyed as she traipsed across the starlit plains. It was early in the morning, but she liked this time of the day because the sun wasn't so harsh on her sensitive skin. When they had come here, it was the turn of summer, but now that she saw how everything here looked in the spring (or fall in Boreas), she couldn't believe how much more beautiful it looked! Granted, she thought it was beautiful already, but the blossoming of new flowers and plants was breathtaking, and with it she knew that new life would be coming shortly. Prey would be flooding the lands again, though it wasn't too bad of a winter for them, prey was decent. Now though, as everything grew and turned green and lush, prey would more than likely be nice and fat. Her tail wagged at the thought of all the new things she'd get to see here, and she was beyond excited! The shy girl stopped near one of the plains many ponds, peering across it and watching as flocks of ducks and geese, and even swans and other waterfowl touching down as they returned from their migrations. She had never seen them before since they didn't live in the North, but her mother had told her about the waterfowl and they certainly looked different and interesting with their flat bills and webbed feet. Springing back, she took off again to see what else was new, and that was when she spotted him.

She hadn't noticed before, but now that she had altered her course, she could see a large figure not too far from where she was. She stopped in her tracks as she watched him, the vibrant color of his pelt struck her as fascinating. Was he...who was he? She knew her brother had accepted someone recently, and she had heard a howl the other night, so was this that wolf? She watched from afar, the light of the morning helping her to see better since it wasn't so strong that it hurt her eyes. She was curious about him, but also frightened. She wasn't accustomed to meeting new strangers by herself, but she would be two soon...she had to start being social on her own sooner or later, right? Taking a deep, shaky breath, she slowly approached him, head slightly lowered which was the usual for her. She was a shy one, that was well known within the pack. When she was a couple yards away, she stopped again and shyly looked at him, a hesitantly wagging tail beating lightly against her ankles. "Um...h-hello. You're new here, r-right?"

Ankaios did not have the slightest clue that he had been discovered. In the midst of inspecting clump of young, spicy smelling shoots. A young voice broke him out of his thoughts, and away from his inspection. His head whipped up, quickly finding the pale girl among the grasses. He at once ascertained she was a member of the pack, and quite a bit younger than he. She seemed to be trying rather hard to be friendly, given the slight tremor in her voice, but he could respect the effort. Plus is was far beyond the time he ought to have met some of his pack members. "Ah, hello there. Yes I'm rather new, joined at the tail end of the last season." He offered her a smile. "I'm a healer, and my name is Ankaios Aeris."

He turned and gestured to the plant he had half out of the ground. He'd found a bit of wild garlic, and he hoped to gather it root and all so that he might try to replant it outside of his den. If it would grow, it would help keep spiders and other insects out of his stores. Perhaps he could even dry some and put it amongst the shelves. He looked back to the girl, and saw the curious spark in her eye. "Say, you wouldn't mind giving me a bit of help, would you? Unless you have other duties to attend to, of course." He tried to be as inviting as possible, though he wasn't really sure how to talk to 'youngsters' if he was being perfectly honest with himself. Oh well, all he could really do was hope this first impression was a good one.
