The foxes hunt the hounds

She had already ate and now made her way North across the narrow strip of land that connected her home and this island. She knew the island just as well as her home at the lake. She found the night to be beautiful. It was the best part of the day, the only part she trusted, as she was mainly nocturnal. Her ice blue eyes shone in the dark as she moved about the trees. She was like a shadow, except she was more visible under the light of the moon. Her white pelt was flawless as she moved forward silently. Her paws barely made a sound and her breath was quieted as well. Her ears pressed forward and she only stopped every now and again to scent the flora. It was getting increasingly more difficult as the days went on to find herbs but she wasn't worried, she usually kept out of enough danger that she didnt need any. She just liked to have them in case of an emergency. Her father had taught her hunting and her mother the trade of herbs. Of course she knew certain wolves needed what she kept dried out and she knew keeping the herbs would encourage some to trade with her eventually. There was things she needed that she couldn't obtain herself, things like the pelts of big game and even fruits from the orchard. She just wasn't willing to go so far from her den. Too much could happen.
Her form stopped as she found what she was looking for. Elderberry, it was good for the immune system she knew and she was quick to take a few and ingest them. She then took a few and set them inside a leaf as she worked on making sure she would be able to take them home with her. She intended on planting a few to hopefully make them grow outside her den. She sat there then watching the stars, wrapping her tail around her paws. For four years this had been her, taking herbs and hoping a wolf might one day come to find her, and realize the valuable trade partner she would be. After all she knew the differences between herbs and poisons. She knew her mother had put the thought in her head but it wasn't to absurd she thought anyway.

Ganta was making his way back to the East, still not any more certain on what he was going to do as far as where to make Dragoste. He’d toyed with the idea of making it in the North, but worry for Roza and how she’d fair in such conditions had the young man thinking against it. He was also thinking that there were too many packs here in the East… but at the same time he wanted Roza to be close enough to her family that if there was trouble she’d have them to rely on. Gods forbid that, but Ganta did want to think a bit realistically. He knew what his older siblings were capable of… and he didn’t doubt that any of them would hurt his beloved if they got the chance simply because she was close to him.
Ganta’s mind was buzzing, his brain teasing the idea of making a home for them in the South. There were plenty of herbs down in the lush parts of the lands…and the young man thought they could be close enough to make Roza feel secure. Gods forbid it if anything happened to her. He paused, nose twitching in the breeze as he scanned the island he had traveled to this time. At first, had he not been more alert, he might have missed the small figure in the grasses gathering plants. His ears twitched, and curiously he gave a bark, waiting to see the creature’s reaction to him.
Would it run? Would it be interested in talking with him?
I'm here without you...

A bark caught her attention and she looked to where the source had been. Her eyes caught on him then. Her ears perked and she pulled her bundle of herbs to hide beneath her tail. She didn't want them stolen or stepped on if this proved a situation she would need to run. She gave the male a smile, soft and gentle just as she was. Her voice came, soft and warm, welcoming even. "Hello," a pause for a small moment before she insisted that he sit with her. "please, come sit with me." Even if he didn't she turned her head back to the stars. A deep breath steadied her courage. She continued to smile like a fool.
"Beautiful night, isn't it?" Even if he didn't answer she was fine with it. Her icy eyes, glanced sidelong at him. She waited for him to introduce himself though, before she gave him her name. Manners were something she hoped he had.
