Youth of the Nation [Children & Elder camp]
Not that it was his mother's fault, but he now had another worry to add to his growing bank. He was worried about another male harming his mother. More then likely she was on pack lands which she would be safe, but he still stewed about what could happen to her. There was plenty of things that could happen and it was making him more anxious for her return. Then his attention snapped as the howl from his mother rang through the territory. Quickly he stood, nails digging into the earth, but soon a pack mates howl rang through the territory, backing his mother up and making him feel better. He settled back down, but soon he was on his feet again as Regulus' call boomed over the territory.
Now it was a real problem, he knew his mother had help, but he had to move his siblings and gather with the remaining pack for protection. Spinning around he dashed into the den getting to Bones and his siblings. Stopping within the big part of the den, the sleeping area he looked to his companion before looking to his siblings. His expression remained neutral so that he wouldn't worry his siblings anymore then they could possibly be already.
"Alright everyone we are going on a little field trip to the main den structure for a little tour," he said with a wag of his tail. "Fallow me and Bones stay at the back and help anyone who needs it."
He waited till everyone was ready before leading them out of the den and deeper into the plains. He was looking for a wooded hill where the Cave system would be. This is where they needed to go to gather with the others and to be safe until things settled. It didn't take long for him to find it and he took them inside to explore and to play.
"Now you can look around, explore, and play. No bedtime yet," he said with a smile.
Once they settled he headed back outside and barked letting others know that they were here. He knew of the white wolf with the blind wolf had pups and didn't know if they would join them or not.
She was the thinker. She could think alot about what was going on, but she knew she would just have to talk to them about it. Though to do that meant she had to loose Nova, she would make them regret whatever decision they had to make.
It was then the first howl sounded. She sprang up, alarm in her posture. That was her momma and she sounded like she was in trouble. Then another howl joined her momma's. a whine came from her. Something wasn't okay. They needed help! She tilted her head back and added her own to theirs just as Regulus gave a howl. She was not okay with this! Nova! nova needed to go protect momma like she did Argus.
As chasm entered again and spoke she was already working her nose to find Nova. "Nova! Momma needs help!" With the short shouts she was then bounding to be at Chasm's left hip as he lead her away. It was the only way to get Nova to go where she was needed most she knew. There was worry all over her though as Chasm lead them where he did. Even as he stopped she did as well. Though she could hear it, faintly but she could still hear it. His words she heard but looking around just wasn't in her abilities and neither was exploring really. She didn't want to play either. Instead she turned in the direction the faint noises were coming from and took a step before closing her eyes.
Her ears perked and she tilted her chin down. She fell completely silent as she focused. No scents of her mother, no sounds of her approach. Though there it was, growls and snarls. She opened her eyes with a start and aimed to press into chasm's side as she sat. Though if it was his she only hoped."There's monsters 'asm. Why are they here? Why is momma there?"Her voice was hushed. Then he was gone and she let out a whine for him. Was he leaving them here too? Then there were more howls, and her ears pressed to the sides. She felt helpless, she hated this feeling too. She couldn't help anyone. She couldn't hunt like Chasm or fight with her siblings because she couldn't see their attacks coming. She was a runt and weak. She should leave, she knew, that way Nova and Chasm didn't have to take care of her forever. Her eyes glassed over with this truth. She was a hindrance to her family. This monster attack was shedding light on it finally for her.
Argus has a sphinx for a companion, named Kamilah, she is assumed to be with Argus unless stated otherwise.
Nova followed her siblings silently, all least until they arrived where Chasm wanted them. But she didn’t play either. Instead she watched, listened. She could make out the distant sounds of the fighting too, snarls on the wind… and she pinned her ears back. She heard Argus talking to Chasm, and slowly Nova made her way over to her sister, giving a gentle, reassuring smile and a small lick to her cheek.
“Mama is with the monsters… she said there are monsters in the world, and if they ever showed up here she’d go fight ‘em. That’s why.” Nova spoke matter-of-factly. “Mama is good and the monsters are bad. Good always beats the bad, so she’ll be fine. Mr. Regulus called too, remember? Other wolves of Celestial too.” She gently pressed into her smaller sibling’s side. “Mama would want us to stay here. We’re too little… but…” Nova twitched her ears thoughtfully.
“I wanna stay here and wait for her. I believe in Mama.” The femme said softly. “...and imagine if any of the monsters got us? Mama would be so upset… and angry…” She wasn’t sure which emotion would overcome their mother more. She just knew it wouldn’t be pretty.
She looked up at Chasm as he instructed them to go and explore and play, which sounded like a pretty good plan in her opinion, but when she looked at Nova and Argus it was pretty clear that her sisters weren't having any of it. She sighed and padded a little further into the cave system, sniffing around the edge of the living space curiously while secretly keeping an ear turned toward the entrance to listen for anyone else joining them... and the fighting going on in the distance. Of course their momma would be fine, right? She was way tougher than any "monsters" out there, as Argus seemed to believe they were. Sounded a lot more like other wolves to her, but she took everything her sibling said with a grain of salt.
Kalliope let Etain take the lead and followed along to quickly make their way to the main cave area in the middle of the plains. As soon as she heard the howls she knew she had to herself and Etain out of the way to safety. A call for healers made her pause and reconsider, but she knew all too well that she could very well walk into the fighting on accident. No, it was better to be here with Etain and the other children or elderly that might come here. If nothing else maybe she could help anyone that made their way here after they were initially treated closer to the battle. Normally she would find her own way to the main den, but there was no time to waste and she knew Etain's eyes would get them there more quickly than her scenting and feeling would. It seemed that several wolves had gathered there already, mostly pups from the smell of them. She breathed a soft sigh of relief that they had made it without trouble, but in the back of her mind she worried for Castiel. Would be come here as well or would he fight? She already knew the answer to that. Kalliope's ears flicked and she tried to ignore the sounds of fighting that were starting to filter in on the breeze. "Go on and get settled inside, sweetie," she told her daughter softly, walking inside herself after a moment. However, she caught the scent of the young wolf that she had heard talking at the last pack meeting and she paused, glancing in the pup's direction. The child's scent was a confusing one, but she tried not to linger on that. If the pup was indeed blind like she suspected... She made her way over to the pup, realizing as she got closer that there were a pair of them, one definitely a girl and the other something in between. She overheard one saying something about staying here and waiting for their mother so she wouldn't be angry and Kalliope smiled a little. "Hello there," she said gently. Of course she knew this would be a stressful time for the two of them, but perhaps she could offer a little distraction. "I'm Kalliope. I talked to your momma briefly at the last big meeting. What are your names?" |
ooc: if anyone else comes in and wants to join Adore and Etain on a little adventure or hide and seek in the caverns feel free! Etain hurried through the plains, following her mother's general directions toward this big den place that they were apparently supposed to go. She kept glancing worriedly back over her shoulder toward where the loud howls and stuff were and she kept wondering if something was going to jump out at them or something like that. She had no idea what was going on and she was afraid to ask. Luckily it didn't take long for them to get where they were going and when they arrived she saw the rainbow-colored family that she had seen her mother talk to briefly at the meeting. She walked inside, looking for a moment toward her mother as she went to go talk to a couple of the pups. Well... Maybe she can go make some new friends too. She spotted one of the younger, brightly colored girls off by herself and Etain hopped toward her with a little smile. Maybe a game would help make the time pass? "Hey, you wanna play hide and seek or something? I'm Etain." |
When Chasm told them they could play, he just sat his rump heavily on the ground and stared at him with a grumpy face. "Why we gotta come here? I don't wanna play with them, I wanna sleep!" He complained, voice cross as he pouted.
First the male went over to his two sisters, his tail giving a gentle wag before he lowered his nose to gently nudge Argus, then Nova.
"Mom is there to protect the pack and to protect us. I don't know why they are here, but it is best we all stay here and wait for her return. She will be fine, I'm sure of it," His voice was soft, his attempt at trying to comfort the girls as much as he could.
He did feel guilty by telling a white lie to his sisters, because honestly his mind was questioning if his mother would return to them. Not that he doubted her capabilities as a fighter, but his anxiety was leading him to think of the worse type of outcome. Lifting his head he looked around for the others. He moved away from the two girls just as Bones left out a small scream to let Chasm know someone was coming. Chasm looked to the entrance to see the blind healer and one of her children.
Kalliope went over to Argus and Nova and began chatting while her daughter moved over to Adore. His eyes looked around for his other siblings to check and see how they were doing. Again Bones gave out a scream to let him know another was approaching and again it was a fellow pack mate, an older male that would surely be able to help protect his siblings. He found Ochi and moved over to lay beside his younger brother while he looked at Az to see him still pouting.
"Az you can still sleep if you like, you don't have to play, come curl up to me if you like," again his voice was quiet.
A lot had been on Rassie’s mind lately, and the young femme arrived at the den to find a bodyguard standing before the den that shrieked upon seeing her. Apparently he recognized her scent, she supposed, since he didn’t try to attack her. Rasiel dipped her head to the creature, recalling having seen him at the meeting. It was a companion of Marina’s oldest child, right? Rasiel dismissed the thought, pausing to scent the area as she entered. There were only two other adults here… but certainly they were capable if anyone happened to slip past the main raid area, right? She glanced towards the young ones, seeing Kalli with two of them, Etain with another, and Chasm lying with his brothers. Mask was there too of course, but not really interacting, and after a moment of debate Rassie headed over to Adore and her cousin.
“Hey Etain~” Her voice was light, her gaze flicking to the rainbow girl after. “Don’t think I got your friend’s name. I’m Rasiel. Who’re you? What’cha guys doing?” The pudgy girl lowered her face down to the pup.
