>>He'd done it. And his heart felt broken. The moment he stepped beyond Abaven's borders and left it behind, it felt like he was leaving a piece of him behind. He didn't stop. He didn't turn around. He simply kept walking until he ended up...here. Night had fallen, the reynard alone atop the cliffs. It was a clear night, a beautiful night...one he normally would have admired and loved to be in. But not today. Mismatched paws took him through the fields of flowers that grew here, the small male leaving a path where he walked. When he reached closer to the edge of the cliff, he stopped. Below, a narrow strip of beach dwarfed by the vast ocean. Above, the sky was pitch black save for the crescent moon and the stars that dotted the sky. He suddenly felt smaller then ever, and so very alone. How could Bass do this...

Alfrun was continuing with her exploration of the eastern region, drifting from place to place as though blown through by a gentle breeze. Night found her wandering along the knife's edge of a cliffside that seemed to glitter softly in the moonlight, even glowing in her Other Sight like it was illuminated from the inside rather than from the crescent moon. A preoccupation that was, perhaps, dangerous for someone who's sight might not be entirely focused upon the reality of the world. It was focused enough to bring her attention to the other figure poised upon the cliffs anyway, and the young priestess stopped to study the figure. Of a size with her, it was nonetheless clearly not a wolf, but rather a more solitary predator, a red fox. She of all wolves knew better than to assume non-lupine predators were lesser in intelligence, having known her sister's companion for some time, but neither could one assume that all predators knew the wolf tongue either. Still, she was curious, having never actually spoken with a fox, so she drifted nearer, and tilted her head to blink benignly at the scarred creature. "You are... a fox," she spoke breathily, almost distantly, as though distracted by some other world... which she was, in a way, as she was watching the way the moonlight curled off the fox's fur in silver ribbons of light.
