Dell gently swirled her paws in the cool water, though it seemed to be a subconscious movement as her attention was quite clearly drawn upwards to the dancing lights. The girl prided herself on having been a lot of different, unique, places; but even she had to admit she had never seen anything quite like this. Deep violets darted from one floating lantern to the next, ears perked as they seemed to dart closer before pulse further away in an unending dance.

It hadn't taken to long to discern that the lights were bugs, upon close inspection their dark carapaces were clear even in the light glow of their abdomens. She had decided to take a break before returning to her den just as the sun had started to lower, laying on her stomach and dipping paws in the soothing water, now it seemed she was firmly rooted to her once temporary resting spot, enthralled as she was with the pulsing light show.

One particularly daring insect seemed to decide it had tired of it's flying and settled upon the tip of the girl's nose. Dell's face broke out into a grin, eyes crossing as she observed the bug on the end of her face, even as she struggled to ignore the tickling sensation it's legs caused to tingle through her muzzle.

What to do? What to do?

That question had run through her head so many times now it was like a mantra. She'd left the pack lands for a while and found herself heading back towards Boreas to snoop around. Before the move she'd never gotten to get a good look at the northern continent past where Ivalice had stayed. It'd only just now dawned on her how much she'd missed out on. At least now she was old enough to go out on her own without getting in trouble. She'd never broken the rules as a kid and had only ever gone towards the border before she was a year old. Past that it'd been the most troublesome thing she'd ever done. That wasn't to say she wasn't adventurous. She still enjoyed testing the waters and toeing the line of danger, but she wasn't going to break pack rules for a bit of fun.

The journey to the north was long and she found herself looking up at the sky to judge how much time she had left. It almost surprised her that it was almost night outside. The sun was just beginning to sink past the tree line and she was torn between stopping or seeing if she could go a little farther. It was the lightning bugs that eventually decided for her. As soon as she spotted the tiny lights going off randomly in the air she decided it was worth sticking around for.

So she turned it into a little game. The young female chased them through the air and, on one occasion, found herself accidentally eating one. Her mouth puckered up instantly and her tongue shot from her mouth as she spat it out hastily. Yuck! She definitely wouldn't be doing that again. She scraped her tongue against her teeth a few good times to rid her mouth of the acrid taste before she noticed she wasn't alone. Orange colored eyes managed to spot the other female easily enough in the dying light and the lightning bug on the other girl's snout was originally what had drawn her attention away. Afrit's tail waved lazily back and forth as she approached the other wolf.

"I see you made a friend. Just don't eat them, they don't taste very good."
