That Sea is just a Gambler at Heart

Blood was staining the fur in the middle of Dómari's forehead, running down each side of his muzzle from his earlier wounds.  His ears remained pinned to his head, his hackles raised, his tail tucked and his eyes narrowed. He wanted to end this fight quickly but his opponent was putting up a hell of a struggle.  Dómari felt a small sense of victory as his right forepaw succeeded in bruising Ramsay's throat and causing the other to gag but his bite would fail as Ramsay's jaws surged inside his own. Dómari's tongue quickly flattened to the floor of his mouth as fangs just nicked it leaving light lacerations but causing terrible pain.  The limited space to move and Dómari's swiftly closing jaws did not give the other enough time to do serious damage.  Ramsay's jaws swiftly retreated but due to Dómari flinching at his wounds he failed to get a strong hold on anything.

Dómari swiftly rolled his shoulders forward, his neck scrunching back and his chin tucking as he felt Ramsay start to shift under him, knowing full well the man wasn't going to take to being pinned.  As Ramsay jerked to Dómari's left, the Celestian's right foreleg was dislodged and he quickly set it on the ground but he didn't plan to keep it there for long.  Dómari was going to pin the squirmy little maggot if it was the last thing he did and he swiftly lifted his forelegs while Ramsay was finishing his roll.  Dómari felt Ramsay's left forepaw trace down the inside of his left foreleg, leaving a few welts from the claws but ultimately failing to pin his left forepaw which was in the air.  Dómari hoped to wrap his left foreleg around the left side of Ramsay's neck, just in front of the man's front left leg.  He sought to wrap his right foreleg around right side of Ramsay's neck, just in front of the man's front right leg.  Simultaneously, Dómari lifted his hind legs and let his weight fall, hoping to force Ramsay to bear all of it, his chest to Ramsay's shoulders, his gut to Ramsay's back.  Dómari attempted to wrap his left hind leg under Ramsay's stomach, just in front of the man's left thigh while he tried to wrap his right hind leg under Ramsay's stomach in front of the man's right thigh. Giddyup!  He felt Ramsay's shoulders surge forward and up but with their close proximity and Dómari attempting to throw his forelegs around the base of his opponents neck Ramsay's shoulders would instead strike the center of Dómari's chest, leaving light bruising.

But Dómari wasn't done.  At the same time he sought to wrap his limbs around his quarry his jaws lunged for Ramsay's head.  Dómari rotated his head sharply to his own right seeking to press his jaws as close to Ramsay's head as possible with Ramsay's pinned left ear between them.  His upper jaw would be closer to the middle of Ramsay's head while his lower jaw would be to the left of Ramsay's left ear. His goal was to snap his jaws brutally together to cut through the flesh of Ramsay's head and slice the appendage off at its base to render it from his opponents head.

The smaller female slowed before Justice could hit her, so the yearling fighter's attacks went rather astray. Justice as brought to a jarring halt when she struck the other female's ribcage, but she kept her feet squared beneath her, her weight shifting to redistribute it evenly once again as her foresaw returned to the ground having failed in her attempt to hook Ferns legs. A slightly widened stance and spread toes, joints bent slightly in a half-crouch, all served to contribute to a more solid, balanced stance to make her harder to move. She kept her ears pinned and her eyes narrowed to minimize them as targets, and her hackles fluffed out to blur her outline and make it harder to judge where to hit her.

She dug her dull nails into the earth beneath her, partly defensively for balance and grip, but also to assist in power, for as Fern attempted to rear up to get a leg over her, Justice attempted to power forward with her hindquarters, aiming to slam her chest and the point of her right shoulder up under Ferns front lower chest, just above and somewhat between her forelegs in an attempt to prevent her from getting a grip with her foreleg and in the hopes of sending her tumbling over into Dragon's jaguar companion before he could reach Regulus. (Counter)

She ducked her chin down and to the left in an attempt to avoid Ferns bite as she did so, and for a triumphant moment it seemed like she had succeeded... until the pain hit like a burning brand across her face. Rather than hitting and gripping her muzzle, one of Ferns fangs had drawn a severe laceration along Justices face, from her brow to her cheek on the right side. Justice experienced a moment of infuriated panic until she could force that eye open through the pain and realized with relief that the eye itself hadn't been damaged, though a red film of blood stung at her eye and temporarily blinded it.

In retaliation, as she attempted to bowl Fern over Justice also whipped her muzzle back towards her opponent and sought to sink her fangs into the right side of Ferns face, her upper fangs aimed to her right brow and her lower fangs aiming to hook into the arch of Ferns jaw beneath her right eye, in an attempt to shred the flesh of her face and possibly crush the bone and eye there.

Every ounce of the grief and fury and hurt and frustration that had been bottled beneath the numbness in the wake of her father's death had been released explosively by the perceived betrayal of her family by its Talis members, and since Regulus was effectively out of bounds by virtue of being her alpha Justice had turned that wrath upon the interfering Talis wolf who had stepped between her and her righteous vengeance, and she held little back.

JUSTICE and REGULUS vs FERN and DRAGON for MAIM (severe facial scarring FERN)
ROUND 2/2

Ooc:
just to make sure it's clear oocly, although Justice is trying to do more damage at the same time with the bite officially the maim is only for facial scarring, not blinding or anything else. Sorry it's so last minute, we drove home all through the night and didn't get in until mid morning so I ended up sleeping all day!

ooc: Better late than never >.> Blue, if you don't understand anything feel free to pm me! It's been a while since I've done a fight post so I'm a little rusty.

The cover of night was perfect for the darker wolf. One thing nightfall guaranteed them for sure was that, for one, they'd be harder to spot and, two, they wouldn't have the sun to beat down on their faces while they fought. How far would they be able to make it into Celestial's territory before they were noticed at all? His nerves felt like they were on fire as he padded after the small raiding group. As they neared the pack border Kharn made sure to quiet his movements so they could get as far as possible into the territory before they were spotted.

It didn't take long for a female to come along and try and usher them out defensively. Muscles tightened reflexively as he waited in anticipation as she summoned her other pack mates. Fights soon broke out and Kharn stood back on edge as he scanned the upcoming Celestial wolves for an opponent. Some of the other pack's wolves threw themselves into fights willingly while he noticed a few, as well as a few Talis wolves, lingering about as though they were nervous.

Dragon's words caught his attention and a grin broke out across his maw as he nodded his head readily. "Fuck yeah, that sounds awesome!" His heart swelled with pride and excitement at the prospect of his promotion. Now this was going to be really fun. He began to tune out the others as he scanned the prospective opponents. He couldn't bring himself to worry about his sibling as he spoke with the one relative. He didn't even care that they were family and that their cousin had just been murdered not to long ago. No, he was here for a fight and to prove himself to his pack.

Finally his eyes rested on the black and white male that had sent out another call for his pack members. He was the same size as him, though perhaps a little less bulky, and overall he seemed rather nervous judging from the raised hair and the clueless expression like he didn't know what he was supposed to be doing.

Kharn's ears slipped back flat against his skull as he stalked forward to about ten feet away from the other male. Limbs spread out as he distributed his weight evenly and toes splayed out for better grip as his muscles tightened. His own fluffy fur rose as his hackles and nape bristled in anticipation and he pulled his lips into a silent snarl and let the skin bunch around narrowed eyes to protect them. His tail flagged out behind him, parallel to the ground, as he began his charge towards the male. It would be a head on collision, assuming the male didn't move, and Kharn was eager to be a part of the bloodshed.

As he charged towards the male he angled slightly towards the right by a few degrees in an attempt to jam his left shoulder into the left side of Laisren's chest in preparation to try and wind the male and cause severe bruising. At the same time his head tucked downwards so his head was level with his spine. His chin tucked in slightly towards his chest and his jaws opened as he angled his head to try and clamp his teeth deep into the fleshy part of Laisren's left leg behind the elbow where the skin connected to the rib cage. It was an early attempt to mutilate the male early on and hinder the male in the fight an effort to end the fight before it really even began.

ROUND TWO

REGULUS:

WRITING

4/10 for Power Play:

  • Attempts
  • Godmoding
  • If/Than Statements
  • Excessive Movement
  • -2 I'm not sure about Regulus having time for all feet on the ground then launching forward and twisting around before Dragon connects. -2 Not sure how Regulus is doing a headbutt and biting at the same time
  • Realism
  • -2 I don't find it believable that Regulus could knock Dragon over with a headbutt especially at such close range.
7/10 for Clarity:
  • Attacks
  • Positioning
  • -2 I'm lost with the positioning in the second paragraph, not sure what you mean with the neck aligned with Dragon's tail but the head and shoulders level with rear.
-1 not quite sure if Regulus is going over or past or sort of both.  I would assume over Dragon but the wording is causing me to question what you mean by "seeking to surge past Dragon's left hip"
  • Directions
  • Movements
  • Damage
8/10 for Attacks:
  • +3 bite +1 maim
  • +1 paw stomp, no extra point for maim attempt.  I don't find it believable that Regulus could fracture Dragon's toes in such close range and so similar in size.
  • +1 headbutt
  • +1 shoulder throw, close range limits impact
  • +1 paw hook
5/5 for Defenses:
  • +1 each seen
10/10 for Injuries:

Status

4/12 for Experience:
  • +3 Intermediate/fighter

  • If/Than Statements
  • Excessive Movement
  • Realism
7/10 for Clarity:
  • Attacks
  • -2 where on Justice muzzle is she trying to bite? side? top? is she trying to clamp Justice's jaw shut?  I'm also not sure how she's planning to damage the bone structure.
  • Positioning
  • -1 "As the two wolves were making a near 90-degree angle"  I'm a bit lost how they're at a 90-degree angle now since Justice was facing sharply in.
  • Directions
  • Movements
  • Damage
5/10 for Attacks:
  • +1 paw wrap
  • +3 bite +1 grip

DRAGON:

WRITING

8/10 for Power Play:

  • Attempts
  • Godmoding
  • If/Than Statements
  • Excessive Movement
  • -2 Dragon turning to his right to get at Regulus' right side is turning about 270 degrees, that's a far bit of ground to cover and your opponent would likely have time to counter that.
  • Realism
9/10 for Clarity:
  • Attacks
  • -1 I'm a bit lost where Dragon's attack is landing and 'where the flesh is more tender' doesn't help me much in visualizing where the attack is landing.

He remained in his defensive stance eyes watching as things began to grow hectic, a few more fights breaking out. Then his older brother arrived and Lais felt his building tension release. To hear his brother saying they needed no warnings made him get into his stance even more, fully preparing himself. He had also been promoted which gave him more fuel to his growing fire. His thoughts drifted to the graves of his parents and of Creed. He also though about his sisters and all the new pups. He needed to protect them, he couldn't let any harm come to them or the properly prepared graves of his loved ones. Thinking of all the things that could happen if the pack didn't prevent these intruders from storming into their lands made his blood hot. Eyes shot over to witness a bit of his brothers fight before looking around and scanning the area looking for others. One even attacked Dom and Lais stepped aside to give their fight space. He continued to look around scanning for others to come, knowing that their had to be more.

Then his eyes caught movement and they darted to meet the gaze of the dark colored male. He stalked towards him and Lais got himself into a much better stance, spreading his legs slightly, bending his lips slightly ready to move. Spreading out his toes to evenly distribute his weight. Digging his claws firmly into the earth for better grip. Raising his tail to be parallel to his spine, lowering his head to also be parallel to his spine. He folded his ears back, rolling his shoulders forward and bunching up his skin on his neck. Then he peeled back his lips bunching up the sin on his face. The male stopped ten feet from him, but he was still looking at Lais. Though Lais was young, he knew how to fight. He had a darn good mentor and he would not back down fro defending his family from harm.

The intruder then charged forward, barreling right towards Laisren. Lais' eyes narrowed and he waited, and waited. He caught the males slight angle to the right (Which would be Lais' left). Lais lowered his body more before moving his body forward-right. Lais didn't move far, just enough to be out of the main attack. The male's shoulder still made contact landing it's hit into his hind leg. He had his front claws dug into the ground and used the momentum from the hit to help to quickly swung his rump to the right to realign himself to be facing the intruder's left side. Digging the claws of his hind paws into the ground he did his best to quickly regain his momentum to lunge forward with a slight angle to the left to attempt to slam his right shoulder into the intruder's left side right into the intruder's ribcage. Raising his head high and tipping his muzzle downward he opened his mouth wide in an attempt to also grab, grip, and tear flesh over the male's left shoulder

Gwen hit the girl with a force that jarred her own body, but the yearling slipped away before she could get any sort of grip with her paws, and her teeth shut on nothing. Had she been younger and less experience, she might have gotten frustrated, or angry, but that wasn’t Gwen’s way. No, she moved immediately and coolly to the next problem, rather than focusing on what had already happened. Her forepaws landed softly, naturally returning to shoulder-width apart to match her hindpaws for balance, her weight rocking forward once they’d touched down to be evenly distributed over all four paws. Her ears remained pinned back and her eyes narrowed, wary and watchful as she attempted to minimize the likelihood of losing one to an attack. Her joints stayed loose and slightly bent with each movement, lowering her center of gravity and allowing her to move more smoothly and easily. Her chin tilted down to protect her throat, hackles raised over her neck and shoulders to confuse her outline.

Sterling continued to pivot, clearly seeking to get Gwen at the same bad angle she had just been in, but Gwen pivoted with her, the Adravendi’s hindquarters moving to her right to pivot her around her forehand, following Sterling’s movements as though they danced.

She only pivoted ninety degrees though, attempting to bring her face-to-face with the yearling rather than continuing to face her side, so that when the yearling attempted to strike her Gwen needed only to sidestep to her own right. This didn’t bring her out of reach, but it did soften the blow - instead of hitting with her out-thrust shoulder, Sterling instead struck with her trailing left front side of her chest and shoulder onto the left side of Gwen’s chest in the front. The close distance coupled with the movement rendered the attack, while not harmless, certainly less harmful. Gwen spread her paws and dug her claws into the dirt for traction as she took the hit, letting it throw her weight onto her hindquarters to help take some of the momentum, so while it drew a grunt from her and minor bruising along the front left side of her chest, it did not throw her down or cause major issues.

With her weight already on her hindquarters Gwen attempted to half-rear once more, forelegs again rising to try to wrap around Sterling’s neck. Gwen’s right foreleg sought to rise alongside Sterling’s left side, her left foreleg around the yearling’s right side, in an attempt to cross over the girl’s neck right in front of her shoulders with the hope of drawing her tight against Gwen’s chest. As she did she turned her head to her left and snapped at Sterling’s muzzle, attempting to grip the top halfway between nose and eyes and force her jaws down to Gwen's left and further away from Gwen's body, partly in an attempt to interrupt her attack and partly to control and prevent future ones. (COUNTER) Simultaneously she arched her back like a startled cat to give her more leverage, dug her hindclaws in, and attempted to thrust forward with her hindlegs with a force like the uncoiling of steel springs, aiming to shove the front and left forefront of her chest and shoulder powerfully against the same points on Sterling in an attempt to throw the girl back on her haunches or even bowl her over. If she could throw the girl, it could demoralize her, and perhaps that would convince her to leave the fight and the raid without causing her a major injury.

An irritated huff left him as he overshot Laisren and rammed into the other male's hip instead with a fair amount of force with minimal bruising to his own body. The impact slowed him enough so he managed to come to a halt just as Laisren began moving his hips away from Kharnage's body. A growl left him as Kharn moved forward a few steps before pivoting his front to his left with his head curling inward towards the back part of Laisren's left foreleg, (a few inches beneath the back of Laisren's elbow). His teeth hit their intended target and Kharn made a move to worse then bite by clamping down hard and starting to shake his head back and forth to worsen the tearing. Simultaneously his hind end moved to the right [counter] until his body was almost aligned once more with the exception of his head. He wasn't able to avoid Laisren's bite though and the other male's teeth sliced into the hard muscle of his left shoulder with a medium amount of severity. It wasn't enough to debilitate him, but it'd be enough to leave a reminder for a while.

At the same time Kharn's body lowered slightly as he bent at the knees to keep him from being pushed over so easily. Claws were still dug into the ground for traction and his tail flagged out straight and was ready to move at a moment's notice should he need to readjust his balance. Ears remained flattened against his head and his shoulders rolled forward to bunch the skin up around his neck.

Now, more angry than anything else, Kharnage tried to shove his left shoulder blade upwards and towards Laisren's jaws in an attempt to throw Laisren off, or at least worsen his grip, while at the same time his left paw snaked out to try and grab Laisren's left front leg, right behind the ankle joint, to throw him off balance. Kharnage's own balance then shifted to his right to make up for the leg that was raised off the ground as he let the other three legs take the brunt of his weight.

ooc: Just for clarification I assumed Kharnage's first bite attempt landed because it wasn't acknowledged in your last post! Here's a diagram if anything is confusing for you Blue. click

He ran away from where the healers were with determination fired within him. He'd decided he couldn't just stand around and wait impatiently while everyone fended off the invaders. It just wasn't in his blood. Creed certainly wouldn't have sat idly by while everyone else did the work. Meanwhile his father had lost his life while all he'd done was manage to get a scar on his neck and be the reason their father had died in the first place. Well not this time. He wasn't going to let someone else die while he did nothing.

He skidded to a halt near the fringes of the fighting and it took him a second to realize he recognized those scents. Surprise had him standing completely still, almost frozen in place, as he glanced at the few familiar faces. He recognized Dragon immediately, and a few of the others that he'd seen around Talis when he and his family had gone to visit. Why on earth were they attacking Celestial?

Fighting against his opponents was no easy task, but at least he didn't have to go at it alone. Fern had been helping him, but it appeared that she would take a good bite to her face and fall away from them. His heart hammered against his chest from it all. Full of adrenaline and anticipation, he didn't feel any pain for now, but he was sure that would all change later on once the adrenaline died down. As Fern fell away from them, Dragon would untangle himself from this brawl before he got teamed up on. He knew Justice was angry with him, but he still didn't hold any ill feelings towards her. The pack was desperate. And in the wake of their desperation he had to choose between family or survival. Of course, survival won out. The thought of going and asking other packs for help didn't truly sit well with him, he felt it would make them seem weak, and he wasn't going to let other packs think that. So instead, they chose to fight for what they needed, and now here they were.

As he disengaged from the two Celestians, he caught sight of Greed going against two others, and Dragon was en route until someone else caught his attention. The black and white form was familiar, and he felt his heart drop again. Torn between the feelings he had and the duty he had to his pack, he almost felt like he was at a loss. All around him, he could hear the snarling and roaring of fights as they broke out around him, and since nobody else had leaped out at him after he tore himself away from Justice and Regulus, he figured the others all had their paws full. He stood there a moment, Kimahri racing up beside him as he spat out red hairs from his tongue. "Move, kid!" He yelled at the earthen male. Pulling himself from his momentary blank state, he quickly looked around again before deciding. Green gaze locked on Valor. He had decided that he would take him on instead of one of his other packmates, especially since it seemed that all around, everyone was trying to severely injure one another. He well and truly didn't want to hurt Justice, and now, Valor.

Without any more hesitation, Dragon broke out into a full on sprint towards the younger male. He aimed to close the distance between them, gaze hardened as he tried not to show the conflict of his emotions. His hackles never fell from the previous fight, so they stood up all along his spine. Tail flagged out for balance, nails biting into the dirt as his toes spread. His head lowered over his throat, aligning with tail and spine. His ears pinned flat to his head. "Don't hurt him too much..." He murmured to his companion. There was about 10 feet remaining between them and Valor, so Dragon would kick himself faster in an attempt to close the distance faster and harder. He aimed a full on frontal assault, seeking to slam the entirety of his chest straight into Valor's chest in an effort to knock him back and knock the air from his cousins body. Should he be successful, then he was sure a large bruise would form, possibly for the both of them, but that wouldn't matter. Simultaneously, he sought to jut his right shoulder forward just before attempted impact and shove it into the left side of Valor's chest as well, further trying to knock him back.

Next, his head would snap towards his (Dragon's) right. He would then aim a bite towards the right side of Valor's neck. He wasn't aiming to tear flesh, no. He was aiming for a solid grip on the side of his cousins neck just below the jaw line, aiming to gain movement of Valor's head and keep him immobile for as long as possible. As he did this, he'd raise his right forepaw, seeking to hook it around Valor's right forepaw and attempt to drag it forward. His main goal was to try and unbalance his cousin. To take him down to the ground without harming him too much. He only hoped that after all of this, he'd be able to explain to his cousins that he held nothing against them, and that he was doing what he thought best for his pack...

    • minor bruising to center of chest: 2 ooc days

    Notes:

Tips for writing and some suggestions. (no points are deducted here):

    For KENO:

In round 1 you need to watch your wordings as far as attempts. Although “aiming” is in use as an attempt, in the context it really comes across more as “where the attack is pointed” rather than “he is attempting to hit there”. In the first round you had some issues with your clarity, though minor ones, as you weren’t clear as to where on the ear you were biting, or why he being taller would have to reach up to bite her ear, or exactly what direction he was heading straight for her from. It isn’t until a much later sentence detailing an attack that it’s a bit clearer that he’s facing her front, and even that could be referring to the side of her chest. Be clearer about where you are facing! In your second round, you suffered the most in clarity. A great deal of this was that you were a bit strange with your wording about what you wanted to happen - rather than coming across as an attempt it comes across as extremely unclear what you are trying to have happen. For instance, “the end result, supposedly, was the attempt…” Supposedly? It’s up to you to state right out that you ARE attempting something, not that you’re supposedly attempting something. It makes it very confusing otherwise. So be careful with your wording, and when it doubt, look it up to make sure that’s what you mean. Otherwise, many of your problems stemmed from attempting counters. You are extremely vague about what the results of your attempt to counter are on your other attacks, which strongly affected the clarity of those attacks, and in the case of the chest slam you also made an assumption that the counter would land and result in less damage for a completely separate attack. These contradictory issues all stem from that one counter-to-a-counter, so you can see why it’s a major issue to do them. You fail to state what the actual damage was on that chest slam, and where exactly Valdis’ bite landed - where on his left cheek do you mean, and since she was aiming for the left cheek and the eye anyway, how does that differ from her attempted placement, and therefore avoid the eye injury? You also aren’t clear that she’s obtained a grip until you mention it later. Your non-counter attacks were not clear about where they were aimed (where on the left side of her neck? Directly into her where?) and while you have him attempting to push off upwards you are also having him try to severely smash her forepaw with his forepaw, which is contradictory. But as previously stated, while there were several minor issues, the major issues in this round stemmed from your counter-to-a-counter and the confusion that caused. One thing that was nearly an issue - make sure that your defenses are based on what is specifically happening in your post. Don’t depend on throwing a bunch of canned defenses in at the beginning of your post, or you will end up not getting the points if they aren’t applicable to the actual situation.

    For LUNAR:

For your first round, I had some trouble with reading your attacks, because you did so much with the chest that it took a good bit of reading and rereading to sort it out. You do need to be careful of being absolutely clear when using similar attacks. I was also not really clear on what movement shuffling was meant to designate, if you had meant it as a clear sidestep or dragging of feet - this is an issue of wording here. You also made a bit of an assumption with Castiel’s movements, or misread the previous post, because his post doesn’t state anywhere that he had to shift anywhere to align himself as he was. The only MAJOR issue I had with this round was the realism of a smaller, lighter wolf hitting a larger, heavier wolf in the sternum and knocking the wind out of them - the front of the chest has too much bone and muscle, and her momentum would already have been lessened by the first impact if it had gone through. In your second round your biggest problem was with responding to Castiel’s chest shove - although you acknowledge that it happened, you weren’t clear what, if anything, happened from it. Was there an effect? Was the bear hug meant to counter it any issues from it? You aren’t clear on that. You also have a minor issue in the clarity of her bite (I wasn’t sure if you had intended for her muzzle to be completely within his jaws or just partially) and your wording of her bear hug with the attempt to put her weight down on his neck makes it two separate attacks where pulling on him depends entirely on whether she can get her paws over his neck, because she seems to be putting her paws around him, and THEN pulling. I also don’t think I need to tell you how much of a bad idea that bite attack would have been if you guys had continued into the third round as you’d originally planned.

    For both:

I would really prefer less counters in a single fight than I’m seeing in this one, though I can understand that sometimes it just presents itself so nicely it’s hard to pass up. Just remember that it is VERY hard to judge and difficult for your opponent to respond to. But I definitely don’t want to see more counters to counters. I had to go back and assign damage based on how it turned out later to make it fair, and that makes things a lot more difficult. I hope everyone is also seeing, more and more throughout this raid, how important it is to work on your skills in character, instead of just stating that they’ve trained! A lot of extra points can be gained through improving your character’s skills, whether that’s a fighting skill or not.

Valdís stepped back as the battle concluded, taking a moment to shake out her coat and take in the environment around her.  Fights continued to rage with both sides seemingly evenly matched.  She was in reasonably good shape, her left shoulder was starting to throb but it would take awhile for the bruises to settle into their severity.  Her adrenaline was still pumping, her heart still racing.  Yes, she had one more fight in her, now all she needed was a target.  Valdís saw the melee between the alphas and two others break up and her eyes zeroed in on the big red male, the alpha of Celestial.  He was impossible to miss and her pride swelled at the thought of taking on such an opponent.  She was brand new to Talis and desperate to prove herself and so she ignored the obvious dangers in taking on an opponent that was taller and heavier than her and in good shape after his fight.  This was dangerous and she knew it.  This fight could dam her as a crusader but she was going for it anyway.  Her mother believed that, for the worthy, permanent wounds sustained in battle could awaken other gifts.  The blinded could learn to see into the realm of spirits for example.  She wasn't afraid, even if this fight cost her her abilities as a warrior.

Valdís swiftly set her defenses.  She lowered her head and tail to align with her spine.  Her shoulders rolled forward to bunch up her scruff as her head scrunched back and her chin titled to cover her throat.  She centered herself, widening her stance and letting her weight settle evenly over all four limbs.  Valdís bent her limbs to lower her center of gravity slightly as her toes spread, the claws digging into the earth for traction.  Her ears flattened tight against her skull as her eyes narrowed, the flesh of her face bunching as her jaws parted slightly.

Valdís' limbs uncoiled as she sprang forward, attempting to close the distance between her and the alpha. She bounded straight toward Regulus' right hind leg, hoping to keep herself perpendicular to him.  Her head ducked down and twisted to her left as she attempted to bring her upper fangs across the back of Regulus' right hind leg, a few inches above the hock.  Her lower fangs sought to land on the front of the right hind leg across from her upper fangs.  She hoped to gain a solid grip that would push her fangs through the achilles tendon, shredding it and crippling her opponent. Simultaneously she shifted her weight to her front right leg and her back legs as she threw her right shoulder violently forward.  She tried to smash the sharp point of her shoulder into Regulus' lower abdomen, right in front of his right thigh where his ribs couldn't protect the tender organs.  She hoped to generate enough momentum so that the collision would severely bruise his internal organs and cause him crippling pain.  At the same time as she shifted her weight she raised her left forepaw and attempted to wrap it around Regulus' right hind leg just below the hock, seeking to pull the limb toward her and into her waiting jaws and hopefully, in combination with her shoulder throw, cause her larger opponent to stumble.

Valor stood completely still and amethyst eyes couldn't settle on one fight to watch. For the most part everyone seemed preoccupied in their own battles. He wasn't too keen on throwing himself in a battle that was already started so he shifted anxiously from where he stood. Already his adrenaline was flaring from just smelling the bloodshed nearby and his blood was boiling at the thought. It wouldn't bring Creed back, nothing could do that, but proving himself in a battle was a good way to start proving that his life was worth living. He wouldn't be useless and he would learn to defend himself. This time he wouldn't be caught off guard by some nice female with pretty words and a fake smile.

What he didn't expect was to see the alpha of Talis charging at him head on with his strange feline companion in tow. It wasn't exactly the fight he'd thought to start off with, but he wasn't given much time to contemplate any other option. Ears flicked back flat against his skull and his tail flagged out parallel to the ground. His shoulders rolled forward to bunch the skin up around his neck. Toes spread out and dug into the ground and his legs spread shoulder width apart before he shifted a couple steps to his (Valor's) left. It wasn't enough to completely avoid Dragon's chest slam, but it was enough to counteract the severity of getting the wind knocked out of him.

Dragon's right shoulder ended up colliding with Valor's right shoulder and his haunches automatically tightened and paws gripped tightly into the earth as it took the shock of the impact. Pain of bone against bone had him gritting his teeth, but he stood his ground. Valor reared slightly on his hind legs and his left front limb sought purchase on Dragon's right shoulder to try and lock in place by his neck in both a grip attempt and so he could use the other male for balance. The other limb dangled, ready to readjust for balance if needed, for the time being due to their positioning, but it successfully avoided Dragon's paw snaking out to try and unbalance him [counter]. His elevated position also meant that Dragon's original bite went lower than intended and the other male's teeth sunk into the fatty fold of the right side of his neck before it met the shoulder. Due to his bunched up skin the wound wasn't deep enough to cause concern, but a growl left him as pain blossomed from the area.

Valor wasted no time and curved his neck towards the right in towards Dragon's head while his head twisted towards Dragon's right ear. His upper jaw aimed for the sensitive insides of Dragon's ear in an attempt to disorient the other male and cause intense pain, while his lower jaw sought purchase where the cheek and the ear met. Meanwhile his tail flagged out towards the left and his left hind leg took on most of his weight to sturdy himself should Dragon decide to try and topple him.

Regulus Anatolii Adravendi

As his fight against Dragon broke apart, he danced forward a bound, the big cat’s jaws missing his rump. However, Dragon and his cat were no longer Regulus’ immediate concern. He gave a quick gesture of welcome to Justice, indicating Dragon’s retreating form in an ‘all yours’ manner, a cold brow lifting, making it clear he had noticed her rage aimed at him, and that they would be having words later.

Then it was on into the next fight. He had been relatively unscathed in the melee, something that surprised him, and so he calculated swiftly as he spotted the incoming Talisian female barreling toward him. The one Castiel had thrown himself at.

He didn’t let himself think about what that meant, instead clicking his brain back into that cold, clear mindset, letting his heart settle, and waiting until the female was nearly upon him before bounding forward a half-stride, roughly two feet, tail flicking level with his spine as he went, hackles still raised in a thick ridge along his back from the base of his skull to the base of his tail.

Her attacks missed completely with his quick forward movement, and as he canted his weight back into his haunches – dropping them slightly lower than his shoulders and back by a few inches – he spun to his left, whirling swiftly and neatly on his hocks in a 180° about-face to attempt at bringing himself around to line up with his nose to the left side of Valdis’ head, just ahead of her ears at a ninety-degree angle—with their heads as the corner.

He retained his defenses—ears pinned, eyes narrowed to guard them against Valdis’ teeth should they come for his face. His front paws came to earth, though he still kept most of his weight and thrusting power in his hind legs, all four paws spread evenly, hind paws slightly wider beneath his hips to better bear weight, as he let all four legs bent slightly to loosen his joints and lower his center of gravity.

His jaws parted as he sought to lunge forward, head snaking slightly downward and seeking to sink his upper canines into the socket of Valdis’ left eye, wishing to blind it, while his lower canines sought to rip into the soft, hollow point under her left jaw, with high hopes of damaging the tongue’s tender muscle and cause immense agony with the bite, while maintaining hope of gaining a grip on her head by the socket and jaw to do later damage with, as well as trying to pin her jaw shut with that grip.

He threw a majority of his weight into that lunge, forward and down with a hard shove as he tensed the muscles in his neck, seeking to put a load of power behind his desired bite and drive her head to her right and down to the ground. Simultaneously, he sought to slam the whole right side of his chest into the side of Valdis’ left shoulder, aiming for the midpoint of her scapula, seeking to destabilize the smaller wolf to aid in his shoving bite attempt, in hopes of driving her whole front-end toppling to the ground with his larger size and weight, and to leave a few mild to moderate bruises behind.

His tail swept behind him for added balance as his right foreleg snapped up, weight rocking to the other three legs as he sought to throw his right shoulder forward and to slam the hard point of his right shoulder into a point five inches directly behind her left shoulder, ten inches above the point of Valdis’ left elbow, and into her ribs and large muscle there. His hope was to combine his forward momentum and shoulder thrust to deal severe bruising to Valdis’ muscle there, and jar the breath from her lungs. Cracked ribs would be a bonus, but unlikely without a full head of steam.

Simultaneously, he sought to wrap his right foreleg around the inside of Valdis’ left foreleg – in particular, around the left ankle with his own right ankle – with the hope of yanking Valdis’ whole left front leg toward himself and steal away a pillar of balance and perhaps even gain a hold on it. As he gave a slight hop forward with his left foreleg to better stabilize his balance, the toes of his three legs flexed to better aid his traction and balance, with the help of his claws as they sank into the peat and soil of the Moor.

Through it all, he kept a tight rein on his adrenaline, keeping his breathing as even as possible under the exertions of battle. Adrenaline, he knew, would tire him out more swiftly than a clear head and calculated movements, and he would need all the strength and energy he possessed to ensure this bunch of hooligans were thrown back over the border with their tails behind their legs.

YES!!! He screamed in his own head as his teeth cut across the rainbow woman's face! His teeth slashed through his intended target, potentially leaving ugly scars to go with her new lack of sight. He was ecstatic! He could feel himself swelling with pride and a newfound...something. It was like a switch had been flipped inside of him, and the monster that had lied dormant within, was finally coming out. He liked this part of him, he had to admit. Though he'd always been cold, that coldness merely grew stronger when he inflicted pain upon his enemies. And he had succeeded in doing just that to this woman. The woman who had a part in tearing apart his family. Granted, Liar wasn't the strongest old geezer in the world, and he did have a weak mind...(or so Greed thought), so he knew Marina had some part in manipulating his father! Maybe she was the one that drove him from the lands! She had to be at fault! No...it was her fault! So when he got the satisfaction at seeing her fall away from him with a bloodied eye, he knew he had served his own justice.

His elation lasted only a second, however, when he realized there was still the other bitch to deal with. The one who had tried to interfere with his business. She wouldn't get away with it, oh no...she too would pay. Greed would surge forward a good five feet before turning completely around to face Acapella head on. His tail lashed wildly before raising up like a flag, rising to align with his spine and his head lowered to align as well. Chin tucked towards his throat for protection, ears flattened to his skull as his hackles rose along his spine. His eyes narrowed into dangerous slits, blue eyes glittering with cold madness. His teeth bared in a wild snarl, muzzle wrinkling as he bunched his hindquarters in preparation to spring at the woman. His legs uncoiled, the male driving himself forward as he attempted to close the gap between them. His weight shifting to all four limbs, he sought to drive the entirety of his chest into her body, aiming to wind her and bruise her, and if he succeeded, then he knew a bruise would blossom upon his own body but he didn't care. Simultaneously, he would throw the point of his right shoulder forward in an attempt to slam the point of it into Acapella's throat, an attempt to further bruise and wind her, maybe even damage her trachea and make it harder for her to breathe.

The light of battle was lit in his eyes, and he would make those who stepped in his line of sight pay for their folly. Greed's head would snap to his right then, jaws gaping open as he sought to clamp his teeth over the woman's face, fangs seeking to drive themselves into the sockets in her head. He was going to make them pay for harboring an enemy of his, and since this woman decided she wanted to get involved in his fight, then she too would pay the price. He sought a powerful grip, wanting to pluck her eyeballs straight out of her head. Top fangs sought to sink into her left eye socket and bottom fangs sought to dig into the right side. He was vicious, bloodthirsty, and she would know it. As he attempted this, his left forepaw would rise and aim to stomp down upon the toes of her right forepaw with all the force he could muster, seeking to pin her paw in place and restrict her movement and possibly fracture a toe or two. His weight would shift to his other grounded limbs, gravity centered to make it harder for him to be pushed over if she so tried. If she didn't know pain before, she would now.

Valor had moved, but not enough to get him completely out of harms way. Dragon collided with his cousin, not as hard nor as much as he had tried to do in the first place, but enough that the both of them would most likely gain a moderate bruise from the collision. His right shoulder had jabbed Valor's own right shoulder, another bruise potentially blossoming there as well, though a moderate one. Like Valor, Dragon would grit his teeth, though the pain wasn't much thanks to the adrenaline that was already coursing through him. His attempt at hooking Valor's right forepaw was unsuccessful when Valor rose up, thus causing Dragon to quickly place his paw back on the ground. His defenses remained in check; Hackles remained bristled, ears pinned to his skull, tail flagged out like a rudder for balance, toes splayed, claws biting the earth for traction, eyes narrowed.

He didn't want to harm his cousin anymore than he had to, the feeling of guilt and betrayal against his own blood washed over him, but he also knew that he wasn't doing this to intentionally hurt them after having lost their father, who was also his cousin. He knew his mother loved Creed, as far as he knew, he was the only family she had left asides from her siblings. It was one reason she was hesitant on coming along, but whether that decision would remain was beyond him. His mother had been unpredictable as of late with everything going on in their own family, so it was hard to tell if she'd remain with the healers, or if she'd come charging in like a raging bull. It was then he'd cast a quick glance on his immediate surroundings, though so far, his mother was nowhere to be seen...unless she was somewhere behind him, but he wasn't about to turn around and look. Kimahri, however, had slipped past his field of vision and was circling to his left side, tail lashing as he was calculating the perfect moment to leap into the fray. For now, he'd hold off just a few moments longer...

He felt Valor's left foreleg nearly drape across his right shoulder, the smaller male's paw nearly gripping his scruff. Narrowed eyes flashed to Valor's own, a mix of emotions in his own eyes. It was no more than a brief moment, however, as his teeth sunk into the right side of Valor's neck, though it was the fatty part which secretly, he was glad. It meant he probably wasn't hurting his cousin too much. But either way, he'd release his bite and raise his head again, jaws gaping open for protection just in case. As Valor's jaws came flying at his right ear, Dragon would take the moment to immediately pull his head back and up, away from Valor's teeth. However, he wouldn't escape completely unscathed. Valor would manage to catch him on his lower right cheek just below the eye, tearing away fur and moderately lacerating the skin but not enough to keep a hold.

In this moment, Dragon took the opportunity to quickly make his own move. He'd coil his hinds legs slightly, falling back on his haunches for no more than a second before springing forward and up as he then raised both of his own front legs. His hind legs would spread evenly apart, tail flagging and hind toes splayed and claws biting the earth for traction with weight distributed evenly upon them as he aimed to bring his left foreleg around the right side of Valor's neck in a sort of one sided hug, and then aimed to bring his right foreleg beneath Valor's left foreleg in an attempt to hold it in place and to try and keep Valor from being able to get it back down, thus attempting to restrict his cousins movement via leg lock. He sought to hook the claws on his right forepaw into Valor's thick fur on the left side of his cousins neck, as well as trying to push with his left leg/elbow in a further attempt to push/drag Valor towards his (dragon's) right and onto the ground.

Simultaneously, Dragon's head tilted to his right, jaws would aim towards the top of Valor's muzzle, the earthen male seeking to get a grip over his cousin to further try and hold him down. Top jaw sought to wrap over the top of Valor's muzzle, and bottom jaws sought to wrap beneath his cousin's jaw in an attempt to clamp his mouth shut all while trying to topple him over and bring him to the ground. Meanwhile, Kimahri would at last make his move. The feline would charge towards the pair, going in for a full assault. The jaguar's chest sought to slam straight into the right side of Valor's ribs, seeking to drive the wind from him and to also use the momentum to aid the alpha in bringing their opponent to the ground. Had it been anyone else, he would have opted to use claws and fangs, but since Dragon had told him to not hurt him too much, this in Kimahri's head, was the next best option.

His muscles in his leg began to burn as the other male bit down on his leg. Lais reacted by biting down harder into what grip he had on the male. Then Lais shifted his weight quickly. Swinging his rear end to his right, spreading his legs slightly and spreading his claws into the earth. He was now facing Karnage's left side and before the male could worsen his bite Laisren bent his back legs and threw his front half upwards angling to swing his right leg over the male's rump and to twist the male's head enough that he would be unable to shake his head to tear into Lais' leg more. This move also had another plus side. His left front leg was now off the ground leaving it limp in the air so if the male tried to worsen his bite or shake his head the leg would move freely with the male. Laisren did his best to completely relax his left front limp as he redistributed his weight on his back two legs and onto the male's back. This movement would also leave Karnage's attempt to knock him off balance useless since the limb he sought to hook was dangling in the air.

Karn's left shoulder did make contact with Lais' jaw, but Lais held on. It would only cause bruising and he wasn't about to let go of his grip and angle just to avoid bruising. Lais in turn clamped down harder and pulled his head back in an attempt to rip and tear flesh and fur away from the spot. It may not have been his most crippling choice of attack, but there was always possibility of the wound getting infected and leaving a more crippling mark on the male. Yes mostly everyone else was aiming to cause more severe damage by aiming for eyes and ears, but Lais just wanted to defend his pack and push back this other pack into a retreat. Maybe he should of went for a more crippling attack so that this male would be unable to fight any longer, but it was to late now.

Marina was down, the male had succeeded in his maim on her eye. Ella was frustrated that her efforts hadn't helped her pack mate. She was angry at this male for everything. He had trespassed, he had wanted to steal from them, he was causing harm to her family, and Acapella began to wonder what else would he do. He needed to be stopped, to be brought down a few notches and put in his place. She couldn't let him get any further into the pack lands. Just imagine what he could do to the children? He moved away from her and she snarled. Swinging her entire body to her right so that when he whirled around they were facing each other head on. She took two sidesteps to her right and pointed the tip of her left shoulder forward as he began his charge. She then made sure the rest of her defenses were up and ready to go. She had made sure her toes were spread, nails digging into the earth, and her weight evenly distributed. Skin and fur bunched up on her neck and face to protect her vitals, and her tail aligned with her body to help her balance as she moved.

His hit had some force and the left portion of his front chest collided with the left front portion of her own chest. Since she had taken two steps to the right she was able to avoid his full chest allowing her left front leg and shoulder to take the blow to protect her windpipe With her left shoulder pointed forward she also attempted to throw some damage either into his chest right between his windpipe and his own left shoulder.. The point of his shoulder Wouldn't make contact since only the left portion of his body made contact with the left portion of her own. Her balance was good even though she was wishing to take weight off of her left front limb, but she remained stable. Angling her head down and tucking it into her chest she pushed forward as he attempted his next attack. Being tucked she managed to save her head and face from attack, instead his fangs landed in the loose, bunched up skin of her neck. Slicing through flesh, but it should remain minor damage since her skin was all bunched up over her neck. When she felt his left shoulder move to lift up his leg she pushed herself, along with her left shoulder forward to keep his foot slam from working and to try and throw him off balance. She could feel the pain from the bruising that was beginning to form on her left shoulder, but at this point she would muster through it.

Tucking her head further her jaws opened wide as she sought to clamp her jaws down on his left front leg, just above the elbow. If she succeeded she would clamp hard for a grip in aim to severe tendons in that limb in hopes to make the limb useless in battle. She would also attempt to use her left front paw, while still pushing the left front portion of her body into the male, to snake forward and to her left attempting to hook the back of his right front leg to try and unbalance him to the best of her abilities.
