He didn't understand it, time and time again things around him have shattered leaving him alone once more. The male was in his prime and was doing well in his rank, then Heather had disappeared. He didn't know what happened, but he hoped his cousin was ok. He knew from when he would talk with Riv that being at the head of a pack brought on a lot of stress and if she broke because of it Jackson held no ill feelings towards her. Not many members were left, but he himself was. He did not leave the pack lands and had slipped into a bit of depression once more. He was trying to figure out his purpose and what he should do next. He also really needed to find Holly and be sure she herself was doing well with all this. After all she had just joined here before Fiori's kingdom had fallen.

Lifting himself up he crawled from the comforts of his warm den out into the cold air. His winter coat already thick, he was prepared for a harsh winter, but he feared the lives of his fellow pack mates. The trained hunter was fearful they would not survive. His dual gaze looked around for a moment before he lifted his head and let out a booming howl, calling for any nearby wolves that were left of Fiori. They may not be a band, but at least they could band together to help themselves survive the winter. He refused to let them die if he could help it, especially the older wolves of the group.

Having Carletta return made him forget about everything else for a while. For a little while he could imagine that Fiori was still in tact, his children were all here and just out of sight, and everything was right in the world. Unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case. Jackson’s howl surprised him and he was almost a bit hesitant to answer it. Leaving his warm den where he was curled up with Carletta to answer Jackson’s call was like he was admitting that something was actually wrong and his life wasn’t actually back to how it was supposed to be.

But he knew he couldn’t refuse his nephew. With a sigh he slipped out into the cold air, giving his thick coat a quick shake to fluff out any of the flat spots where his fur had gotten squished where he was laying. He trotted off to meet up with Jackson even though his joints protested the sudden movement. It was obvious that the years were catching up to him, but he put a smile on his face and tried to pretend that he felt just fine. "Jackson!” he said as he walked up to his nephew, giving him a grin. "It’s so good to see you! I was afraid that everyone had run off.”
