The sun was hidden behind the thick rain clouds. It was a vary dreary day so far and it rained off an on. It made it miserable to be out, but he had work to do and he was looking to get himself back into his skills. Like normal he had done his morning run, his morning patrols, and now he had moved out of the pack lands to practice some tracking. It was a good day to put his nose to work and push himself to see how far he could go.
He was tracking two creatures, a female elk and her calf, the trail had started back close to home. The soaked ground from last night's rainfall made it easy to visually track the creatures, but he was looking to work his nose a bit more. So he would close his eyes as he loped forward focusing on the scents his nose took in and separating individual ones to keep himself on target. The trail was not fresh so it made his task a bit more difficult, but that is what he wanted.
