The battlefield laid quiet, for it was now a graveyard of the unburied metal. Their corpses lay among the buttercups and forget-me-nots, deep under the ground as years passed unforgiving. The sun still shone and the wind still blew, but somewhere in the past mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters waited in vain to a day that never came. These men that were once boys who played in the yard with sticks and laughed at each other's silly tales were no more and in their place stood different parts of armors, blades and rusted metal, something a young girl mind could not comprehend. She knew not what these things were or used for however she knew that this was a place to death and that whoever they were their souls had long departed to the celestial planes to walk with the ancestors.

The clangor of the swords had died many years ago, the shouting of the slaughter was hushed; silence lay on the snow and the babe found herself lost within a unknown land, probably of an extinct race that once walked the Earth. The pale bleak sun that glittered so blindingly from the ice-fields and the snow-covered plains struck sheens of silver from rent corselet and broken blades coated in rust, where many bizarre items were scattered around, some remaining under the layer of snow that began to slowly but certainly melt away, leaving place for Spring to make its appearence. The nerveless tea-cup paws dared to touch: helmets, shields, barrels, stocks buried in the ground, metal tubes, rusted frames and many more forgotten by time.

Her eyes could not believe such wonders, such bizarre objects that lied buried with a part of a mysterious history that she knew nothing of. There must have been a war that happened here, or more than one. They were all fools. There is no such thing as winning or losing. There is only won and there is lost, there is victory and defeat. In this wasteland of white there was nothing for her mind to hang onto but old metal that offered no clue how to get back; she had wondered to far south. There was no familiar sight, only the heart beating in her chests stopped her from becoming as frozen as the landscape. When the babe whirled around to at least see the tracks she had made, there were none. The only way to navigate was by the sun and in only a few hours it would sink below the horizon, leaving her shivering under the stars and far from the Eastern lands she knew.

She knew she must find a way to return back where she came from, an unfortunate event caused her to wonder and if it weren't for the bizarre objects she would not have got so lost. How could she be so naive? Her pace diminished as she approched a small puddle, formed from the melted snow, of still water; there were no turbulences or movements. Her luck must've changed. Hor fortunate. Her mother showed them once, how to always find their way back home, how could she forget. She never made one herself but she remembered it clearly; every movements of her mother was registered in her scholar mind, all she had to do was access it and repeat it. The leaf that tumbled before her was a red maple, cast away by its wintry boughs to the air that sapped the babes heat. It twisted against the unseen air, gravity dragging it to it's final resting place, not far from where she came to a halt. So alive, yet dead, like her mother.

It was glorious! Horus exploded through the snow after what looked to be something shiny. It of course was a shield hidden partly by the snow so when his nose bruised against its hard surface a growl of surprise and hurt moved through him. Horus didn't even open his eyes for a moment at the sound and the pain seemed to tingle over his cranium and crown. His growl didn't stop until the pain seemed to dimmer but his eyes did open to look into the somewhat clean reflection of himself. His face seemed so odd to his own eyes. He was ragged looking and gaunt. Who was this strange wolf he barely knew?

Slowly he pulled his eyes away from the shield's reflection and moved on. His heart was set on finding something to wear or bring home with him. Most of his siblings had their own jewels to show off and flaunt around like puppies. He wanted some too, something not too big but enough to be apart of the crowd. He knew that this was the kind of place to find it. Littered with old wounds and abandoned hope. The race who lived before him and perished in the earth seemed to have so many shiny things. They too craved the rare metals and the golden scepters.

It seemed like hours of searching had passed before something green glittered under a pile of snow. Getting closer Horus saw that this color was not in fact grass but a pendant of sorts. His body trotted over to it quickly and moved the snow aside with a gentle and patient nose. He could feel the excitement bubbling up in him like a boiling pot of stew ready to go over. As he unearthed the stone it was apart of a large piece of metal. It looked way to small and thin to be something to hide behind but it fit almost perfectly with the shape of his torso. If only he stood up straight. Trying to turn the piece over Horus realized how heavy this they was too. The metal itself seemed to creak and moan under the pressure of his touch. A thought popped into his head.. Maybe he could dislodge the jewel from its bed in the metal? With the utmost caution he placed his claws around the gem and tried to dig his claws under the fragile thing. Without even trying the gem popped free from the rusted slot. He let out a howl of happiness and grabbed the gem in his mouth.. Well He had it.. Now what? He couldn't just carry it around in his mouth now could he?

It was then that a scent hit his muzzle and his eyes seemed to roll in that instant. His little lost niece was roaming again.. Some would think that if she couldn't find her way around the world she would find a nest and bed herself there. Slowly he listened to his surrounding and the crush of grass was a sign of her presence. Though his howl had probably given him away he waited to see if she would come find him away. "Are you here dear? Treasure hunting like your uncle eh? The apple doesn't fall from the tree I suppose."

As the leaf made it's final journey to the earth it fell in a graceful tumbling motion, seeking the least resistance from the air. Already dead, yet it's color and it's dance were so alive. It's descent was utterly silent until it joined it's earth below, and even then the noise was barely audible. She knew she needed it for what she was about to do; gracefull paws resembling tea-cups in size were placed upon it, the babe resembled a conqueror with the elegance of a Queen as she found the first object she will need in her craft. It was of importance but now where is she going to find a straight piece of metal that will fit for the leaf? Just as she thought of it her auditory system rotated towards the source of a sound, mumbling, it got clearer as cleare just as the word "uncle" was accentuated.

Pomegranate optics roll, a sigh escaping her toracic cavity. "Mare." (Great.) the angellic sonates rolled off her tongue in a thick egyptian accent, frustration, anxiety building up within her being. It was Horus, the man that claimed to not only know her father but also share the same putrid blood as the bastard. "Ego potest non tollendum huiusmodi." (I cannot get rid of this kind.) a sight associate the syllables, voluptous, black lips peel to reveal murderous canines, a growl building within her throat.

"Ipsum revelare, Horus." (Reveal yourself, Horus) thunderous growl, the back of her throat burning; fury, frustration, deep within her soul the emotion burned, her uncle added gasoline to the fire, flames consuming her, pulling her soul further into the abyss. It was not his fault, she knew, it was not his fault but within his veins the same blood poured, the same damned blood, the same curse. "Qui congregat thesauros quaerere nec me nihil scire et prodigiis...Et perdidisti." (I know nothing of treasures and I seek no wonders..I got lost.) the last words came as a sigh, auditory system lowered on her crown; luxurious tail embracing her paws into a warm and false sensation of security as her leaf, her conquest stood dead underneth her paw. It was not his fault.

He heard the voice and headed over in the direction it came. His hips and shoulders bobbing over the hillside like a easy and bouncy rabbit. His motive nothing but to get to know his niece a bit more before confront his brother about it later. She was a pistol that's for sure.. last they met she seemed like a helpless princess then the time before that she was ready to start a fight. A sigh echoed through his mind at the memory. When his eyes finally met her pelt he could feel an anger start to bubble in his chest. She was using a language he'd long since forgotten. His mind reading out the voice like a scroll unraveling. She was speaking in a tongue he refused to be apart of since the storm had separated his family.

He waited though.. Letting his anger bubble and boil. Stupid girl.. He thought and took one more step to alert her to his presence. Only when he did he pulled back his lips and gave a fearless snarl. His tail rose in a frenzy of cream and white fluff. The tendrils of fur falling all over his spine and hanging like a human's scarf. Horus would demand her submission this time around. She dared speak his tongue.. And curse in it all the same. Even her attitude called for some change since she had used a tone unworthy of his stature. "You would speak in this tongue you barely understand.. To a male who grew up under that umbrella of hatred and family bonds.. Yet you give him dishonor and let your pride take you a step to far." His growl seemed to deepen and Horus took a step toward her in a threatening manner. "I doubt you even are aware where that language started or how far it fell into the sands when your grandfather destroyed us." If there was one thing he hated more then anything in his life it was the person who cause his families demise. "Use that tongue around me again and I will cut out that pretty little tongue of yours. Does that make us clear or do you need a bit more encouragement?"

Slipping beneath the horizon, the orange sphere gave way to the blackened night sky. Twinkling lights littered the inky heavens, shimmering in the darkness, flickering intermittently as if to a tune only they could hear. Mother of all these things made her entrance, silvery face gently illuminating the atmos about her. The maestro of the stars, the very thing that seemed to give them life was she - a beautiful and serene creature of the night. Reverence proper was given to Mother Moon in the form of a subtle bow of the cranium from the gilded babe. A flow of sadness passed her mind, lasting only a mere moment, she had to wait for the night to pass in order to continue crafting her compass. Given to her real religion,  the ancient egyptian one, the woman still harbored tremendous respect for the deities that her mother used to talk about. It was all beautiful and cruel in her eyes, a machine, each and every bit combining and working together to keep the earth in the delicate balance it needed in order to survive. Passion was woven into the supple tendrils of hair that covered her body, ingrained into those sparkling and shimmering eyes however the same passion began to boil within her veins, auditory system rotated upon her crown, syllables and words came penetrating, the other man insults reached her and her once calm nature cracked right before his eyes.

How dare you mindlessly throw your serpent tongue? venemous words escaped her tongue. Inky black lips pulled backwards to reveal the murderous canines. Her reptilian bodice still ached after the spar with the Dauntless man however she had to step cautiously, was this was she needed now? She already has been a participant of multiple fights and her body certainly has not healed since the last one? Was she able to take him down? Many thoughts passed the babe's mind in that moments, pomegranate optics observed the man before her, her uncle, unleashing his poisonous words right in front of her. You and your siblings, you lot were not capable to defend your oh so precious home and now you are saying that? Bitch please.   she responded to fire with fire, adding more fueling that could enrage Horus but she was not able to stop. Boohoo. Stop your whining princess. We all have been suffering a tremendous amount of pain due to your damned brother. You see me whinning? Hell no.

A fury he had never felt before echoed through hi body. Her words seem to throw burning logs onto an already flaming pile. Who was this child to talk to him that way? When did respect and family bonds fly out of reach? What did his brother teach these young ones? Either way he was ready to show her the meaning of respect. At first it wasn't words that flooded through his mind but the vitals that she was showing to him. His eyes scanned her for weaknesses as his paws traced knowing steps around her to the left. He was careful with each step not one out balancing the other or placed heavily on the ground. He was ready for a strike but he wouldn't wait for her to.

His lips pulled back to reveal his ivory fangs to her. They looked almost too large for his long but pointed muzzle. "So you have spoken. Lets see if your fangs can carry the weight of them." Horus' voice was dark and sinister compared to the easy humor he usually spoke in. His eyes glinted with the slowly burning anger she kept force feeding him. It was so effective that his muscles tensed at the very mention of his brother. "You do not know who you speak of." With that he darted to the right and then to the left in a quick motion. His body coming at her from the left side of her ribs. His paws somewhat sliding in the snow bitten ground. He aimed to get close and personal just to show off his speed at first but his rage forced a move he never would have taken otherwise. Instead of just darting back to a safe area he wanted to force his left shoulder into the tender part of her rib cage just beside her shoulder blade.

You can get out the way you got in. Black disks that swam in the pools of pomegranate hues, dilated. Her face, though seemingly stoic, began to show signs of bubbling agitation. Defenses set into place during his speech; legs spread equally apart, balance evenly distributed, limbs bent, body lowered for a better center of gravity, tail lashing out behind her, hackles raised, shoulders rolled, neck scrunched, head lowered to align with her body, chin tucked, jaws parted, claws digging slightly into the soil, eyes narrowed and ears pinned back. Thus, at the end of his speech there was no pause, as she’d been readying herself throughout. They both knew what was coming next and she was ready to confront him. After all, it was not the first time she was battling her Elders. No, the first one was her aunt, Amunet, but this time Horus will feel her anger on his own skin. He wanted a battle? He would certainly get one. She rushed forwards to meet him. She attempted to step quickly to her right, and then to her left, leaping off her right front paw and lifting it up, hoping to slam it into the outside edge of Horus’s elbow as his body came from the left, seeking to smash into that area. Weight transferred to her left paw, but she was airborn for a moment, before her left paw kissed the ground and balance adjusted. During the leap her hips pivoted to her own left, seeking to bring herself at an angle with Horus's shoulder, taking the hit, so that Horus’s head was hopefully the only thing in reach. Her left shoulder sought to slam into the outside, fleshy part of the beast’s right shoulder, her jaws snapping forwards and seeking to bite into his right side neck. Her bottom jaw wanted to press into the man’s throat, her top seeking to bite into the side part of his neck, attack in general aim for the middle of the neck. Her intent was to obtain a grip and suffocate, but who knew if that would remotely meet success.

Due to Sam's absence I will only be able to make one post which will include Nephthys's exit and finishing her leaf compass to orientate herself back home. I tried to reach to Sam to ask if she/he is alright however I got no reply back therefore my request to default the battle.

Table & Art by Vethysnia

She was injured. Heavily--but still her uncle would fall. Pleased at the outcome of the fight she found herself ready to be finished with all of it, but alas; such an act would not be granted to her so soon. She would be forced to push more. Pursue things that she knew were beyond her physical capability but maybe, just maybe her previous revenous encounter have proven usefull. Her uncle, Horus was placing another challenge to the corvaceous babe. The first she had a fight with was of course, her aunt, Amunet, which won their duel however she did learn more from the bitch than she cared to admit. It was already clear that, on this day, Horus will fall. Shoulders rolled forward to assist the cover of her neck with fur, flesh, and fat. Neck was slightly coiled back, and limbs were slightly bent. Weight was not perfectly distributed as her right limb was more damaged due to her recent fight, so her weight lingered primarily on her left side. Back legs were sprawled apart farther to craft a tighter base and counter her unfortunate positioning. Crown was lowered over her breast and pomegranate optics were narrowed in on the male's face. Ears were pressed back against her skull and her tea-cup paws were lightly flexing against the ground for traction. The babe's spine was in perfect alignment while her voluptous tail was out to act as a rudder and supplement her balance. Chin tucked and jaws agape a violent snarl ripped through her throat, vibrating through her whole being. It was a warning. A thunderous snarl meant to send shivers down one spine and curse the Gods for her unfortunate fate.

-Fade to black due to the lack of response -

It was hard. It was bloody. But she came out a victor, Gods smiled upon her today as her tea-cup paw smashed onto the male's chest as he laid down, defeated. "I am Nephthys Ma'at Ithuriel." the babe snarled venemously into her uncle ear as she leaned forward to snap her canines, "Daughter of your brother, The Sun God. Demi-Goddess of Death and Harbinger of Souls." she spatted dangerously, "Remember me, uncle" she accentuated the last world with a roll of her tongue, "I have a feeling we will meet again very shortly.". Another snarl was emmited from the babe's pretty maw, her canines bared as her voluptous, ink black lips were pulled over them.

She left without a maim nor a display of utter aggression because that was not the point of their confruntation. She stated clearly by defeating him. She was one of them and like it or not that was not going to change, their blood ran through her veins, curse her being and made her insane. With a shook of her crown, she hold herself high, with poise, like the royality she was. Her bloodied self found her way back towards her maple leaf that to her surprise remained there. en as she found the first object she will need in her craft. It was of importance but now where is she going to find a straight piece of metal that will fit for the leaf? With a tilt of her crown, she thought long and hard. She was surrounded by bizzare objects but not all seemed to be made out of metal. Some where of copper, some were rusted to the core without recognition; now what was she going to do other than poke around? What seemed like hours, days and months passed before her and her journey came to an end when she found a needle. With precision she took it between her murderous canines and dragged it out of the soil, limping with it towards the leaf. A sacrifice needs to be made in order for the Gods to bless her with this miracle, she needs to share her own soul energy (knows to us as static energy) with the needle by carefully rubbing it across her fur in order to come to life (magnetizer). She tried once. She tried twice. But by the third and fourth time her vital liquid was boiling within her. This was the way her mother always did it. Perhaps she was to injured to create enough friction between the egyptian silk fur and the needle. What was there to do? She was a captive in those parts and she needed to return towards her home or at least a territory that she was able to recognize. Without lot of thinking she threw the needle away only to hear and almost inaudible sound of static electricity. Were the Gods finally showing her path? She turned on her heels to follow the direction of the needle only to find it stuck to another piece of metal. A grin painted her beautifuly crafter visage as she returned with the two items. Rubbing, stroking, minutes after minutes but she finally did it. She managed to pass one life energy to another object and reanimate it (static electricity). Loo and behold, after stroking the needle in the same direction, rather than back and forth, using steady, even strokes she finaly did it. She placed the neddle on the maple leaf and from there on she took the leaf carefully between her lips in order to place it in the puddle since currents will disturb the direction of the compass, so she could not expect to get an accurate reading if she suspend it in a lake or pond. Now here comes the hard part. How could she realize where the North and South was in order to read the compass properly like her mother used to do for them. The needle and maple leaf on which it is situated should slowly spin either clockwise or counterclockwise to point from north to south. Since the magnetized needle points from north to south, the babe can't use it to figure out where east and west are located until she figures out which way is north. She limped away for only a moment, only to return with a sharp stick between her canines, as she approached her leaf compass her bodice began to shake visibly, her energy almost gone. The babe placed the stick upright in the ground so she was able to observe its shadow. She marked the spot where the tip of the shadow fell with a rock and wait a certain amount of time before she marked the shadow's tip with a second rock. The line between the rocks would roughly be east to west. And once she stands with the first rock on her left and the second rock on her right, she was sure that she was now facing north. She could now predict where the cardinal points where and how to orientate herself to return back to safety, a long journey awaited her but after her duel resulted in a victory she had all the confidence she needed to survive. Onwards we go, back home, back to safety.
