One For The Money
This was her first time venturing to Auster, the woman avoiding two packs that seemed to live on this continent. That was interesting...she thought all the packs resided in Boreas, but she was quite wrong. Though it didn't bother her very much, as long as she knew where the packs were then it was easy to avoid them. Though she was curious about them all the same. Enigma had come here with her, but he had gone to hunt while she did her own explorations. They always met up at the end of the night, the pair never leaving each other's side. She wondered what had happened to their other brother Forsaken, wondering if he was still alive somewhere or if he had taken the same fate as Ganta.
Icy blue gaze took in the sight of a cavern, it's darkness pulling her in. Might there be something worth exploring here? Curiosity got the better of her, so into the void she went. The paths she found didn't seem to have any real indication of which way to go, so she simply picked one and went about her way, marking the walls as she went so she could find her way back out. |

The spring season seemed to drag on, that or perhaps time just felt slower since he couldn't see anymore. He had gotten used to not having his sight, nothing really much of a hindrance anymore unless he was exploring places he had yet to explore. Skirting the edges of the pack that had laid claim to the creek, Dragon and Kimahri made their way to the caves he had visited before. He had spoken to spirits here before, and he was eager to speak to them again. He felt troubled, unsure of what to do or how to feel about Iskra. He adored her, and he was getting the feeling that perhaps it was more than that as well. But at the same time, he was afraid to get closer then he had already let himself get. Trust was a concerning issue for him, and though he knew it worked both ways, he didn't particularly have any secrets to keep. Flicking his ears, Kimahri led Dragon into the caverns, taking him down a path that had been largely unexplored. These caves seemed to have many paths and corridors, and they never seemed to travel down the same one twice.
The deeper they went, the more he could hear the sound of the air moving through the cave system. A breeze perhaps? The sounds amplified by the darkness and the depths? It was strange, and what was stranger was the way he was feeling the further he went in. His paw steps appeared nearly silent, but everything else seemed louder to him. The off-steady drops of water from somewhere in the cave...what sounded like scuffling to him was probably no more than his own imagination...or maybe Kimahri was kicking stones? He couldn't tell. Following his companions strong scent, the pair pressed on deeper and deeper into the cave. |

This cave was...strange. The deeper she had gone, the funnier she felt. But she had to admit, she liked this weird head high she was getting. It had been a pretty long time since anything interesting had happened to her, so perhaps this cave had some interesting things to offer. She wondered what her brother would think of this place...creepy? Fascinating? Maybe a bit of both? She was curious to find out, but first she would explore this place first. The alabaster woman took another turn, but she couldn't tell if she was going deeper into the cave or if it was leading back towards the entrance. She wondered how long she had been in here...probably not incredibly long, but in the darkness of these caverns she couldn't quite tell.
Taking a turn down another corridor, she froze when she heard another sound. It wasn't the sound of the air blowing through, a sound she had grown accustomed to in her short time in here, nor was it the erratic drips of water she kept hearing, no. It sounded more even, like a steady light pounding of feet on the ground. Was someone else here? Sapphire gaze narrowed slightly as she debated what to do. She wasn't quite done exploring these caverns, but the pressing darkness was starting to suffocate her. In the end, she decided she'd check out whoever it was, and that was exactly what she did.
The woman headed down the path she heard the footsteps at an easy lope, partly hoping it wasn't just a trick of this place and that it was actually someone. Her hopes soon turned into reality, for just as she came around the bend, and spotted a dark figure silhouetted against the light of something in what looked like a room. Interesting...what kind of place had she stumbled upon? As she got closer, she could hear the other wolf whispering something. Was he here with someone else? She couldn't see anyone else..."You lost?" |

It didn't take too long for them to finally make it to a wide cavern, drops of water could be heard steadily dripping and trickling from the walls and ceiling. By this point, Dragon's head felt fuzzy and his mind muddled. And with him being here for the first time unable to see, it felt even more powerful. He had no sense of direction, he couldn't see any light or shadows, and everything felt...eerie. When he stopped, the silence was overwhelming, the only thing he could hear was the pounding in his ears, and he felt the longer he was in here, the stronger this feeling felt.
He startled then when a voice cut the silence, asking if he was lost. Confusion gripped him as he looked around with uncertainty...not that he'd be able to see anything. "Spirit? Is that you? I...I've come seeking guidance again..."

The last time he had gone to visit a spirit, he had asked for guidance concerning the pack. Now though, it was guidance on his love life. He had been feeling many things since meeting Iskra, and it was all so confusing and wonderful at the same time. On one hand, he wanted to be with her and commit to her. On the other, he was afraid to completely open up for fear she'd exploit him and well...He was mostly afraid to open up and trust someone like that in general. He would be at his most vulnerable...but already he felt that way around her.

"You can call me Deoxys, the uh...spirit that rules these caverns." She suppressed the chuckle that threatened to escape, wondering how far she could go with this. Through the darkness she could see the glittering eyes of the man's companion, though by now he was probably being affected by this place too. Perhaps they all were. "Tell me, dear Dragon. What troubles you?"

He swallowed, head swimming with jumbled thoughts. As he thought about Iskra, he could swear he smelled her here. Had she followed him? "Her name is Iskra...I care about her very much, but I'm afraid to open up and trust her. I'm afraid that she might..." He trailed off. Unable to finish what he was saying. The thought of Iskra betraying him was too much, especially since he had fallen a great deal in love with her...but what could he do?

"My spirit senses tell me that you have led this pack of yours since before you lost your sight. Whether or not they will follow, I cannot say for sure. However, perhaps if you've proven yourself and continue to prove yourself to them, then there's a chance they may still stand by you." She didn't know exactly why she was giving this advice, after all, she didn't particularly care about anyone else unless she was getting something out of it. Perhaps it was something her father would have done, and suddenly she realized what Sin really was like before he died.
Even though her father was a dick, part of him did care about those he came across, to an extent. Was this what it felt like when he took pity on another? Could she even call it pity? She didn't know. Either way, here she was giving this guy advice. "And about that girl...you'll just have to trust your gut. Iskra, right? Pretty name for a pretty girl. She must be lucky." She lowered her front half to the ground as she stretched, enjoying this little game she was playing.
Then it struck her. Maybe she could go farther than she thought. It was her season, after all. And it had been a while since she had had any fun. Hmmm..."So this Iskra...you love her, don't you?" She rose back onto all fours, slowly making her way to the male until she could feel the warmth of his body, her fur touching his as she walked a slow circle around him, her tail lightly brushing beneath his chin.

She then spoke about Iskra, the male nodding, forgetting that it was dark. But spirits didn't need light to see, did they? He doubted it. "I do love her..And I want to trust her." He stated. It was then he felt something brushing against him, the scent in the air changing, growing stronger. In his State, he didn't realize that who he was talking to wasn't a spirit at all. "Then tell her. Show her how much you love her and want to trust her. She's right here,"
As he thought about Iskra, he swore he could smell her and feel her right beside him. Touching him. Had the spirit brought her right to him? He vaguely felt his heart pounding, his nostrils flaring as Iskra's scent grew stronger. It didn't dawn on him that he was hallucinating..."Show her." Deoxys spoke again, this time the form he felt was right in front of him. And he couldn't help himself. He closed the gap between them, and with him sitting in a dream that was no more than a lie, he truly believed Iskra was right here with him.

She licked her lips as she waited for the male to fall into her trap, and soon enough he would. He touched her, and she was all too eager to accept him. It had been too long since she had any fun like this, and when the opportunity had thrown itself on her doorstep, she was going to take it. Oh this poor Iskra woman...her man wasn't the brightest star in the sky, was he? Whatever. She didn't care either way, right now she was taking advantage of this man in his moment of weakness, and she had no regrets.

His words came out in short breaths as he felt more light headed than normal, and all too quickly he could feel himself losing consciousness. "I uh...Ki...help..?" He tried to find his words, pleading for help before he began to keel over and hit the ground.

Ears cocked when she heard him try to speak, and before she knew it, she heard him fall to the ground. Great... As much as she just wanted to leave and go on her merry way, she couldn't just leave the guy here. What the heck happened to his companion? Had he fallen in a spell too? Grumbling, she grabbed Dragon by the scruff and began to drag him out. It was quite the journey having to drag his dead weight, but eventually they made it out.

Eventually, he would start to wake. Eyes slowly blinked open, the warmth of the sun touched his pelt and he felt incredibly groggy and disoriented. He could smell someone else was here, but he didn't know who. "Wh-what happened? Where am I?" He asked, still lying down. "Kimahri? You there?" He groaned as a headache started to make his head pound.

"Oh, you're awake. I found you here, I think you were unconscious, or sleeping. I don't know, you were talking all kinds of nonsense." She lied. But he wouldn't know that. When he asked for Kimahri, her brow rose with confusion. Who the hell was--oooh! Crap. She forgot to drag out his buddy too, huh? "Uh...I think your friend went to find food or something. Wait here, I'll go find him!" Without waiting for an answer, she dove back into the cave, found his friend, and dragged him out too.

After a short while, he heard scuffling from the cave. Soon after, he smelled Kimahri and figured he must have come back. "Found him, now you both can go home or whatever." The woman spoke, and Dragon felt more confused then ever. "Er, thanks for finding him. I appreciate it."

"Yeah yeah, don't mention it. Anywho, you're both alright now and I've got shit to do. See ya 'round Dragon, good luck!" Without waiting for a response, she turned and took off. Hopefully, she would never see him again. Especially if he ever realized that she wasn't a spirit at all, but a regular old girl that had tricked him into thinking she was for her own selfish gain.
It might be interesting if she ever ran into his girlfriend, and she wondered what his little lover looked like. "She must be quite the catch if he loves her that much...oh well, I probably just ruined their little thing." Giggling, she took off in search of her brother.
