He really had no idea how docile a young wolverine could be, and what was even more strange to him was that this little one seemed able to understand him. It was bizarre, something Elias would have never expected... he hadn't run into many creatures that could speak the tongue of wolves, the only others belonging to a tempest with ravens. The thought of talking ravens reminded him of the one that the demon in him hunted down in pursuit of an innocent. That thought gave him a good idea of who to take this young cub to.

He sighed, breath warming the back of the wolverine cub's nape that he carried while his mind replayed little snippets of what occurred that night. He could not remember clearly at all, but he knew what happened. He'd met one of the children that the night had resulted in, already... but he never again saw the woman he had hurt. It had been over two years ago now, but Elias hoped that enough time had passed from that night for him to say that he had full control now over whether or not something like that would happen again.

It was hard to say what caused it, the illusions.. the split. He wasn't sure what was going on in his brain half of the time, but he discovered that trying his best to stay out of it and stay busy is what kept him the sanest. That, and very little social interaction.

It took him some time to track her down, and throughout the nights that he and the cub spent together.. he grew fond of it. It was hard not to grow fond of something that you feed and protect for so long, but he still did not trust himself to take care of it himself.

"Where are we going?" the young cub asked.

Elias stopped briefly at the sight of some wolf tracks, setting the cub down on the trail so that he could sniff, too. It seemed to like doing that, to help him get the scent of a hunt. It was cute.

"There is someone I think who could use your help," Elias answered, his voice full of guilt for a multitude of reasons. He swallowed hard as he tried not to look down to the wolverine and focused on the direction that the tracks were going.

It had been a while now since Dauntless had been disbanded. She was still unsure where her life was going to go at this point, but for the time being she was comfy spending her time here in the orchard with Chinny. His company was refreshing, reminded her of home, and for once since leaving home made her feel truly comfortable. They had remained in the place she had run into him again which was a vary nice place to stay. The trees provided nice shade cover from the sun and there was small animals here to be caught and used as a food source. They already had a makeshift den and it was nice to have a large warm body to cuddle close to.

She still greatly missed her children and worried about their health everyday. She at least knew that Abaven was well and knew Corentine had to be doing well. Cloud was doing okay the last time she spoke with him, but she wasn't sure where he had went. Tempest, Derecho, and Tyranis were all unaccounted for and she worried that something bad had happened to them. There was still times she wondered if she had truly done her job being a mother or if she failed and that's why her family was no longer together. At least she had Bass to provide a father figure.

Honestly the day her children were created had been pushed to the far back of her mind, it had not been pleasant. Jack had died that day and since his death she felt something missing. She had missed his presence greatly and in a way didn't feel as confident in traveling alone. He was constantly there and though the bird was not a creature to curl up with her at night he still provided a great companion to her. She could not change what had happened and she most definitely wouldn't change her children.

Chinny had went off to collect some things and Storm was lounging in a sunny spot a few feet from their den. Anymore it seemed that was all she did, but in her defense she was getting older. Though it may also be a bit of depression that was making her this way to. She was relaxed while her ears took in the sounds of the birds ahead.

Elias moved at a slow pace as he followed the trail, the scent of two wolves very clearly making themselves apparent on this trail. He was not afraid of encountering another wolf, if it were to happen, but he did hope to catch this woman alone for at least a moment. The whole time he walked, the young wolverine cub struggled over its own feet to keep up with his shadow. Elias was deep in thought about what had happened throughout his life and trying his best to piece together what had happened that night specifically before his change.

He could audibly hear the faint giggling of his deceased girlfriend, which would be thought of being impossible to most wolves but not to Elias. He remembered hearing her voice and her words so clearly that night, but it didn't make sense.. why did she want him to be a monster? Her last words to him were inspiring, and he did his best to remember those... what was real?

He shook his head again, pushing those thoughts out. He was searching for one memory in particular, searching for a name that she could have offered him. He couldn't recall one, had she ever even told him her name? Probably not, their encounter was so brief.. and he had run out of time, regardless.

Laying about twenty feet in front of him was the sight of the little sheep of a woman, and her silver eyes sent flashbacks soaring through his brain as he looked into them. He was quiet as he came closer, another ten feet, and then stopped. He looked around briefly with his red eyes, searching for the male that he smelled here, too.. but found no one.

The wolverine cub caught up to him and remained at Elias' forepaws, panting heavily as he tried to rest for a moment and watch what was happening.

"Excuse me, do you... remember me?" His voice was quiet, though heavy with resonating bass from his barrelled chest just like it always was. He stood there with his tail slack and his head low, remaining a respectful posture as much as possible despite the fact that she could not see him.

His approach was quiet, but her sensitive ears could pick up the vary light beat of his paws against the earth. Her one ear swiveled, pointing in the his direction, listening carefully. Had Chinook returned so soon? Or was this another wolf wandering by? Lifting her head her other ear pointed forward also taking in all the sounds in front of her. His heavy deep tones spoke out asking her if she remembered him. With the wind blowing his scent away, she couldn't say she didn't recognize who it was, and his voice well it had been two years ago how could she remember the exact tone of voice.

She raised up from her spot giving a quick stretch to loosen both muscles and joints. She then moved close to him, enough that she could get his scent regardless of the wind. She stopped with about five feet between them and stretched out her neck her nose taking in whiffs of the air and his scent. Once she full took in his scent she paused as the realization kicked in. There was only one other time she had smelled that scent and it was the night she was forced.

She suddenly hesitated unsure how to act, he didn't seem to be a threat right now. It happened that way the last time, he was okay at first and then something just snapped. He was a little creepy the whole time. She took a step back, but forced herself to remain calm. What could she do anyway? She was blind and never learned how to defend herself from others. She though by some vary slim chance (more like hoped) that he was here to apologize, but who knew what he was really here for.

"Ummm.... Yes I do" she answered quietly the awkwardness of the situation starting to creep in.

All of his muscles seemed to constrict just slightly as she came closer to him. She was so relaxed, it was clear to him that she did not recognize him just yet. He watched her move, admiring the way the ends of her fur seemed iced over like winter's frost. The way she moved was graceful, he thought, even when she was tired. He moved his eyes to her own, recalling them from that night. They were like swirling clouds, and it nearly sent chills down his spine the longer he looked into them. Her whole air was quite mystical, and despite the fact that he was the one towering over her- he felt insignificant in her presence.

He swallowed hard when she finally realized, and he could sense that she was growing uncomfortable. His own ears flattened back against his skull as the behemoth tried his best to focus on the young wolverine cub at his paws, the one that had been quiet this whole time. He watched it for a moment, staring into its gaze in order to gain some sort of serenity and remain calm. This was incredibly hard. Storm was so innocent, so vulnerable... how could he have preyed upon her as he had?

"I am not here on ill intentions," his voice was calm, nothing like anything that came from him that night. Even before his swing, he had been in a bit of a craze.. so many things plaguing him, so many thoughts and memories.. even when he was himself, he was insane. His words came out as nearly a whisper, gentle and careful as the wind carried them over to her ears.

"My name is Elias Praetor, and I just want to talk to you for awhile, if you will let me. I can not begin to explain the remorse that I have experienced over what has happened, and it took every bit of courage that I am capable of to come here and face you today. I will not remain here if you do not want me, you are in full control. But... I know it does not change anything that has happened, I can not take back what has happened.. just know that... I am not.. that night, I was weak and... out of control. I.. have made a lot of mistakes, and.. I have hurt a lot of people. I never wanted to, but.. well, I have my demons. However, I am sorry.. and I mean it. If there is anything I can do, I will do it. The whole incident started off wrong, and I am so sorry for taking your friend from you. I know it isn't the same, but I found this wolverine in the Rock Garden, the same hunting grounds that I met you. His mother--" he paused, trying his best to remain considerate of the cub's ears, ".. well, he needs guidance, but he is a very good tracker. He has even helped me, and I believe that the two of you could truly benefit each other."

He took a deep breath, looking her over for a moment as his head started to feel very light, dizziness setting in as his heart raced and yearned for her forgiveness... "If you would like, I can leave now-- I am not here to make you relive.. a nightmare. But if you want to, I can stay.. I would like to get to know you.. if you'd let me."

Her ears perked at his words unsure if she could trust what he was saying right now. Her ears flattened slightly, still vary unsure of this situation. He still had shown no sign of being a threat and he was way different from their last encounter, tone and all. He went on giving out his name and trying to explain and...... apologize? It left her confused, but intrigued at the same time. He was right it had to have taken all the courage he could muster to come here. He was truly acting sincere which made her ears raise. Was she dreaming this? Was this really happening? He was sorry, sorry for everything that happened and vary sorry for killing jack. Her features softened, her body relaxing, and her rump sinking to the ground.

Never was she expecting this, let alone him bringing a new companion to her. She was speechless at his actions, but she was truly grateful even if she was fumbling about how to show it. His last sentence made her features show concern. Was she being rude that she hadn't accepted his apology right away?

"Oh no no," she quickly replied before quietly sucking in a breath.

Her only worry was if Chinook came back early, surely he would lay into the younger male if he knew. Though Chin was normally out for a while so he wouldn't be back. She shifted to a more comfortable sitting position.

"I don't want you to leave. I really appreciate the courage it took you to track me down for this," she started. "And..... I accept your apology."

She was to softhearted, but that was probably how she got herself into the bad positions in her life. Her run in with Elias had not been the only one.

"I'm Storm Wreckage and Elias I would love to get to know you more and.... We have kids" she said feeling a little awkward in saying it that way. She smiled, a sincere one hoping that if he's willing to make amends then maybe his demons were being concurred.

He remembered when he'd met with Odette, how she had been so angry with him. She had been so angry, spit flew from her mouth as she yelled at him and demanded he stay away from their children. He understood, and he respected her wishes and left. While he did not expect the same aggression to arise out of the woman before him, with her seemingly sweet disposition, he did not expect all such a quick apology. Perhaps some fear, uncertainty, or maybe even questions as to how he could do it, why he would do it- but she... she immediately reassured him, immediately accepted his apology and embraced his offer to get to know her.

It was enough to make the criminal melt, his heartstrings plucking a tune that left him in an audible whimper as his tension seemed to evade his body in an instant. How was she so understanding? He did not deserve such acceptance, and she had every right to turn him away- he expected to be faced with rejection, nearly immediately... but he had to try. And now? His efforts were not in vain at all, she not only knew of his remorse... but she was willing to talk to him, and that filled him with immense gratitude.

He was so lucky, and he knew it, that he had encountered two women on those nights that were willing to give him a shot at forgiveness. Two out of three were at least willing to talk to him, Zuriel even willing to help him, and yet none of them owed him this at all. In fact, he would not put it past anyone to slay him for his actions- they were ultimately heinous. If he could take it all back, he would. Though, here they were...

He had met Odette's children, and he knew of Zuriel's but he always wondered about Storm's. Storm Wreckage. He repeated it back to himself in his head, admiring her once again as he committed her beauty to memory and filed away her name in his own heart. His brother had told him briefly that there were more, but he suspected they were not of Zuriel nor Odette. They had to be from Storm, and she confirmed it with her words. His ears perked, and he was ever so curious...

"..thank you. I..." He couldn't even complete his words, but the depth of them and the way they choked up in his throat might have attained to what he was trying to express. He couldn't finish his sentence, unfortunately, not if he wanted to remain strong.

He felt dizzy once again, overwhelmed by the feeling of all this finally happening and becoming a reality. He shifted slowly, clearing his throat so that she could hear him while he lowered his weight to the ground and sprawled out across the grass. He lay on his stomach, thick forelimbs outstretched before him while he rested his heavy neck upon them, looking up at her with interest as he listened. "I am willing to tell you as much as you would like to hear, and if you have any questions - I will answer them honestly. My brother told me of a boy with my blood that ran a pack with his brother. Were they ours?"

She smiled nodding as he struggled with words a silent act that let him know she understood what he was trying to say. How it must be difficult for him to face his demons, to come here and face what he had done. It made her all the more curious of him, even if it could potentially be dangerous. She heard him clear his throat and shuffle around. It sounded as if he was settling down ready to fall into conversation with her. She too copied, her legs getting stiff in her current position. Sliding down onto her belly the smaller women sat sternal in front of the large Elias getting herself comfortable. She didn't know how long their conversation would go, but she was sure he would be curious on his children.

He spoke again giving her the freedom to ask about him, about what had happened. He was being open which still surprised her, but in a way made her want to poke around his brain. Maybe even there was a way for the little healer to help him, he could be her last patient in her years of life so why wouldn't she jump at the opportunity to help. His words brought up Ty and cloudburst and her smile softened greatly. Those boys were so strong and have grown into magnificent young men. She still didn't understand Ty's sudden disappearance taking her grandson away from this place.

"Yes. Tyranis ran the pack and is the most ambitious of our kids. He was a great leader, but unexpectedly something made him pull away and disappear. He had a mate and two children, our grandchildren. He took the boy with him and left the girl with his mate who I have lost contact with." she began.

"Cloudburst is the only other male from the litter, Ty's brother who worked side by side with him when Dauntless was alive and well. Though he is a great man he didn't feel he wanted the responsibility to himself and disbanded the pack. Since then we have parted ways. Then there is the three girls...." She wanted to go on, but her curiosity was killing her and she wanted to know.

"What exactly was going on mentally that night, I could tell something of course wasn't right," she was bold, but she wanted to know. She still felt there had to be something wrong mentally for him to snap in such a way that night, but to be perfectly respectful and kind to her today.

As the woman settled down across from him in a similar fashion to the way he had done, he watched her patiently... thinking internally again on how precious this woman was, how he admired her small stature- she honestly.. was probably the one that reminded him the most of Katar out of the three women he'd attacked that night. A small sigh escaped his lips without him meaning to as he tried to steer his thoughts in the right direction, yet again. He usually did his best to hide these little slip-ups in his expression, but at this moment he was more vulnerable than usual.

His stomach was still partially knotted with the anxiety of facing the guilt of what he'd done, but he was calming down. The wolverine cub next to his forelimbs was a good thing to focus on, as it began to stir and get back on its short legs. He watched it, his ruby gaze glistening as he quietly listened to Storm's words...

The cub was curious about Storm now that she had settled down with them, and took this as an invitation to explore this new wolf. A tiny nose would attempt to meet the tip of Storm's closest talon at the end of her paw as he did his best to assess where she had gone today. Elias' stare broke from the cub when Storm mentioned that Tyranis disappeared for an unknown reason and the same feeling of concern that he'd had when Ace told him about this started to twist his stomach even worse. What if his motive for abandoning his pack was the same reasoning that Elias' held when he'd abandoned Ruina?

He was forced to leave this thought in the back of his mind for now as she continued to talk, and he was curious about his remaining son from this litter and his daughters. He wanted to ask questions, to know their names, and his heart beat with the far-fetched dream of possibly meeting them and understanding what they have become. He broke out of his hopes, his eyes flickering like a fire ignited by a gust of wind as they turned to Storm's own blind gaze when her question came. He wasn't sure if he would have been able to look her in the eye at this moment had he not known she was completely blind, as he couldn't even hold the gaze for long with knowing that she was.

There was a long moment of silence as Elias' focus recessed back into his own mind, his red eyes distant and glancing away from Storm and the cub as he thought quietly on the right words to use for this hard explanation.

"I.. well," he fumbled, perhaps starting a bit too soon. He cleared his throat as he tilted his head backward, gazing up at the sky as he silently prayed to his father for strength. After a moment, he tried again.

"I wish that what was going on mentally that night was something that occurred on only that night. The truth is, I have been haunted for... nearly as far back as I can remember. The blood in my veins and the blood of our children is cursed- plagued by demons that only we seem to be able to hear the whispers of. I know.. how that might sound, but where I come from- this was never anything questioned. This was our life, this was our purpose. My father led a pack of firm believers in him and trained us to continue to serve this relationship our family had developed with these spirits of the underworld. Not all of them are truly evil, but the ones that have haunted me ever since I was a kid surely seem to be."

His muscles were tensing the more he spoke, and his body started to give off a visible shake- not that she could see. It was distracting, and he did his best to ignore it by lifting his weight back up to sit on his haunches, his forelimbs firmly placed in front of him as they did their best to resist the overwhelming feeling of his rushing blood and unsettled muscles.

He grit his teeth for a moment but continued. "Our pack believed that we are immortal and that when we die that is not the end- it is the beginning of a new cycle, one that will eventually also end and lead us right back here. It is difficult to explain, but... there is.. a process we go through when a loved one dies. A ritual.. a funeral... that binds our eyes and ears to the souls of our fallen. Usually, they just spectate through our lives and help provide guidance. My wife, however, died in a very.. unsettling way. I don't think her spirit has ever been truly allowed to settle, and now she haunts me. She has quieted down recently, but on those nights.. her words were the loudest that I could hear. She was tormenting me, taunting me, wishing the worst for those that I came across. I tried to fight it for as long as I could, but... I got tired. I gave up. A demon took over, and that demon was more than willing to listen to her desires. She.. compelled him to do that to you, forced me to watch. Forced me to commit something I would never do to you. I am so sorry."

He'd already apologized, but he felt the need to reiterate his guilt as he explained this all again. He wasn't sure how she would handle these taboo beliefs of his, but he was sincere with his apology. He shook, almost violently now, as he watched her again... wanting desperately to run before another demon took advantage of his current state of mind. As much as he shook, though, he did not feel weak.. he felt very in touch with himself as he stared at her, and reminded himself of his guilt, of his desperate need to correct what he had done.
