She sighed as she crawled from her den, gold eyes looking up to the bright sky full of stars. For some reason she couldn't sleep tonight, she had tried several positions, but still couldn't fall asleep. She didn't know why and she was growing frustrated. So instead of continuing to try and crawled from her den and decided to go for a walk. Maybe some fresh air would help and maybe if she walked long enough it would poop her out. She she quietly slipped off, she was sure the rest of the pack would be asleep and she didn't want to disturb them from their slumber. Summer was coming to an end and her season was finally calming down. None of her family had visited which also worried her. Had something happened to them? She really hoped not. Sighing in frustration so continued on walking and walking in hopes to wear her body out enough that she would have to sleep. She had work to do tomorrow and hated the fact she was up so late to begin with. Soon it would get cold again and she wasn't looking forward to it. Soon she settled in the middle of the plains, staring up at the sky as if it could help her. Night had fallen by the time Brandr made it back to Abaven. His mind was buzzing with the information he'd learned from the little star child he'd met in the north in the twisting trees. Brandr knew he needed to tell Corentine. This wasn't the sort of news that was meant to be kept private even though he was afraid it was going to hurt. He gazed out across the horizon as a flash of lighting illuminated rain clouds in the distance. The air was still and he did not know which way the storm was going. Why did things rarely seem to work out as planned?

Fate answered as the form of Corentine melted into view. The white of her pelt standing out against the shadowy dark of night. She was awake? He hoped she was doing alright. Putting on a gentle smile he trotted toward her. "Evening, Corentine! What are you doing up this time of night?"

Soon she could see the form of Brandr in the distance and instantly she felt relief wash over her. She saw him approach and smiled her tail lightly wagging. She stood to greet him, smile still on her face and her golden eyes lighting up. She knew he would ask what she was doing up, but really she could ask the same thing. She didn't know he had just returned from traveling. When he asked she looked away from him slightly not wanting to dump everything on him, but not able to lie to him either.She sat down before looking back to him. "I can't sleep tonight, to much running through my mind," she answered. "How comes your out and about at this hour?" Her ear flicked back at the rumble of thunder in the distance. She had also seen the distant lighting and wondered if maybe they would be getting a storm tonight. If they did maybe if she could focus on that it would help lull her to sleep. She didn't know how else to get to sleep and she didn't want to be up all night and feel like a zombie in the morning. "Talk" "You" Think

It struck him how gorgeous she looked in the moonlight, and for a moment that was the only thought in his head as she turned to greet him. When she spoke and he felt a knot form in his stomach. Brandr frowned. "I'm returning from a trip actually and I bring news of Dauntless. It seems the pack has disbanded. I searched high and low and could find no sign of them. I found a previous pack member who informed me of the disbandment. She did not know where Tyrannis or Storm left to. I'm sorry Corentine." He had no idea how she'd take the news but he didn't want her to be constantly wondering either. He also hoped he hadn't broken the news to harshly but once he'd started talking it seemed the words just spilled out.
