Now that she had gotten more used to the idea of settling down into a new pack she found herself really excited to do so. Now that autumn was getting toward the later half of the season and she could tell that winter was just around the corner, she knew she and Ara should probably be making their way toward the pack sooner rather than later. The silvery woman made her way back toward the open land where she had last talked with Ara to see if her friend was near by. Athena took her time and walked fairly leisurely. It was fairly easy to wear herself out these days, but she tried not to dwell on that too much. There was no stopping age so she just accepted that it was part of life that she had to accept. She walked along the fence that cut across the territory, noticing how it had broken down and fallen apart in places. Time wasn't any kinder to this weathered wood than it had been to her. Her dual-toned eyes scanned the area near by, but she didn't see the black and gold woman anywhere. Ah well, perhaps she'd come back though this way eventually. If not Athena could always take a look in some near-by places. She broke away from the fence line and made her way through the wooded area of the land, cutting through to the lake. She padded close enough to the water so that just her forepaws were dipped in the cool water. Athena took a long drink of water before she lifted her head again and looked out across the gently rippling water. It had taken her a long time to feel this at peace, but even now it felt ever so slightly uneasy. There was so much she still hoped for and wished for, but she was beginning to wonder if she would get the chance to see those things become reality. |
