⇽This will hurt you more than it hurts me.⤛ ☥ Wind rushed through the gorge, beating the faces of the many dark rocks that made the Col so dangerous, there were secret paths one could take if they knew what to follow. There were moutain goats in this region, a sure-footed animal that could climb the sheerest cliffsides and make it to safety before a wolf could blink. It was the tracks, tell-tale hoof scrapes and droppings from the goats that let him know where he was going. Oddly enough, he was moving on instinct, his actions almost rehearsed in a way. His claws dig into the snow atop a massive boulder, scraping aginst the cold surface to send vibrations of horrendous pain shooting into his already sensitive paws. With an aggravated growl, Reaper pulls himself higher, then continues up the rocks and makes his way to the highest point in the massive rock pile. It was almost relaxing, the rhythm of pulling, finding a rock to stand on, then a foothold, pulling again. Despite the cold, frosty air, Reaper panted with exertion amd sat to rest on a rather huge boulder, looking down to the passage below. ☥The treacherous landscape was made even more dangerous by the covering of snow that blanketed many of the rock faces. Combined with howling winds, it made icicles on the top that ran horizontal thanks to the force of the gusts. To be honest, the male felt his heart swell with pride that he had climbed to such heights with only a few scrapes and bruises from slipping on the rocks. Still, his expression remained passive, almost brooding, as he listened and scented the wind. Cold, reptilian green eyes seemed to take in everything as he scanned his gaze around the Col. How wonderful to have found the land of his father's at last, it only took a few months and some rather hard lessons learned to get here. It was a trial that had made him stronger, better, smarter, and he was thankful to have the opportunity to be away from the almost obsessive oppression of his parents' rule. He had no plans as of yet but wanted to learn what he could about the land he was living in. The wind kicks up in his face, wailing at him to seek shelter. Moving to shield himself with a large enough flat rock, Reaper simply waited for the gust to slow before letting it ruffle his coat again. OOC: for the Nav! Whoot! "Talking." Walking. Thinking. "Hearing." |

Okay, so going north had been okay but she might have gone a little too north now. She'd sought out the dark mark on the horizon with the intention of taking shelter among the jagged, dark rocks that made up the place. Unfortunately once the snow kicked up accompanied by gusts of strong wind, navigating the thin paths wasn't as easy as she'd hoped and shelter was hard to come by.
The wind battered the leggy yearling, running it's icy fingers through her coat and leaving her chilled. Suddenly this wasn't so fun anymore. She spotted someone ahead, taking shelter behind a rock. Lucky asshole. She hadn't seen even a divot in the ground to hide in thus far and here was this guy with a prime spot out of the wind. Maybe she was just crabby after being chilled to the bone for too long, but whatever the reason she suddenly found herself calling out, "Well, don't you look cozy?" Her head was held high and tail just a hair above the level of her spine, though it had to battle with the wind to maintain it's position.

☥ As the wind howled around the brute, Reaper remained crouched in a seated position, watching as snowflakes raced passed and a thin sheet of ice began to form on the edge of the rock where he rested. It was then he discovered a dark and feminine figure in the wind and snow, her head proud and tail held in a slightly elevated manner. The words that she uttered were nearly lost with the sharp song of the gusts, but he made out, "Well, don't you look cozy?" The comment earned the new girl a droll stare and cocked an ear back as if to say really? The crystal expulsion that appeared before his nostrils looked almost like smoke from an angry dragon, though he did find an odd need for feigned civility. For a moment, the intelligent beast looked from her to the snow rushing by, seemingly thinking about whether or not to inform her that she should not be out getting battered by the wind. ☥It is with a sigh and another deadpan stare sent to the new wolf, looking over her earthen coat and taking in the mismatched gaze of pink and green. She wouldn't be much of a threat if she decided to turn on him, and he would need a wolf who lived in the region to help him survive. If he was nice enough to share his hasty shelter, perhaps she would guide him around these new lands! With a grunt, the male tosses his blackened head to the side in invitation. "Welcome to share...cozy, but cold." His deep voice cracked with his youth and lack of use, his eyes remaining almost reptilian in nature as their green depths swept over her frame once more. He moved to make room, taking on a harmless body posture, though his head was low and somewhat defensive. "Talking." Walking. Thinking. "Hearing." |

For a bit the guy didn't seem to be terribly amused by either her attitude or comment. Shame, somehow she always bumped into the uptight fun-deficient types whens he was out and about. Flashing him her best charming smile in an effort to appear less like a petulant child, Caelestis siddled closer so she could actually hear his response if there even was any.
"Welcome to share...cozy, but cold," the man said with a gesture towards the minimal rock shelter. To some it might be not worth the trouble, but to Cael who was pretty sure she was about to be a block of ice even with her shaggy winter coat, it looked pretty appealing. Laughing she replied, "That, my friend, is the definition of an oxymoron. Don't mind if I do, though." Slipping into the available space beside the guy who didn't appear to be the chatty type, she offered him another wide grin. Shuffling around a bit, she found a comfortable position nestled into the 'shelter' and hoped a short stay here might warm her up a bit so she could either keep traveling in a bit or wait out the worst of the snow before leaving. Her main concern was just not leaving too late and finding herself snowed into the pass. That would suck.
Looking her temporary shelter buddy over, Cael chirped, "So what brings you out here on a lovely day like this? Do you like playing out in storms or somethin'?"

☥ The female moves closer, speaking more though she achieved nothing further in the way of response from the tri-colored beast. He moved so that she had enough room to be warm and out of the wind. She gave him a grin and he simply stares a little less coldly at her for a moment before turning his attention back toward the blizzard. For a moment, there was nothing said, then the girl piped up with a question. "You like playing out in storms or somethin'?" This earned an amused huff, the frosted air floating quickly away as the male rolled his head toward her again.
☥ "Was caught in this. Looking around." A shrug of his broad shoulders and the male is back to staring out at the blizzard. Those reptilian green eyes seeming completely uninterested in the events that took place around him. He regarded the female once again, his expressionless voice rolling out languidly, "You play in storms, too." He pointed out, the very reason she needed shelter was because of the storm that raged on around them. Reaper weighed the female in his mind, looking her over and deciding that she would do as a guide. The time to ask the question was not right, so he would wait until they were deeper in conversation. The beast looks at her then, wondering if she could benefit him in other ways. The smell of a pack lingered in her fur, and Reaper was not an idiot, he knew better than to pick on those.
"Whispers." Movement. "You."

Canting her head, the girl listened to this man of apparently few words. Looking around, huh? "So you like exploring too, then? That's pretty cool. I explore all the time, seen lotsa cool stuff, it was pretty amazing," she bragged with a somewhat haughty expression. It was hard not to be a little prideful about her misadventures, even if they were fewer than she let on. After all, she was going to be the best navigator ever and see everything! That would be worth bragging about, better get some practice in.
"Well, yeah, of course I do," she said defensively in response to his observation, "You can't be a master of navigating if you can't find your way in bad weather! I'm just stopping for now." Also she had no idea where exactly she was because of all the snow, buuuut Cael wasn't going to volunteer that information anytime soon.
OOC: Sorry I'm WAY late on the reply. oop.
