Yawning, the girl wandered her way through the thicket as the beams of morning light filtered through the brambles above her. Her legs were getting longer, and her body was filling out into what would likely be a hell of an awkward teenage body. The way her frame wasn't quite proportioning out foreshadowed a thin and leggy yearling indeed. She chuckled as she walked, paws crunching loudly in the snow. If she was going to look silly then her super tall brothers would look hilarious by comparison. The mental image of Aiden with stilts for legs had her sides shaking for a good long while.

Ahead she could see places where the snow had been disturbed by some of her packmates passing through. Pausing to study the marks she noted two... no, three sets of prints. One of them had veered far from the others for a bit and from the look of it dove headlong into a great big snow bank! Must have been that crazy older yearling girl and her family or somethin'. That was the only member of the pack she knew that might do such a thing. On a whim she followed after the tracks for a little while, only stopping when she spotted something strange.

What on earth? In the clearing up ahead the rambunctious yearling appeared to have found another game to amuse herself with. The tracks got more scuffed and further apart, she'd gone running through the area at top speed before stopping to make... weird snow piles? Creeping closer to the strange creations, Rhea sniffed at them before staring one down with a skeptical look. Was... That supposed to look like a wolf?

Corvus hadn't exactly meant to get up so early today. Something outside the family den had made him stir, and a yawn wracked his oversized body as he stretched his forepaws in front of him, forcing himself away. Quietly he pulled himself upright, as unsteady as one could be while still awake, and slipped into the gentle light of the early morning. He parted his jaws in another slow yawn, his body unfurling like a fern as he stretched out his limbs. Unlike his far more gangly sister, Corvus was growing awkwardly large, just as his father had. His paws seemed too big for his teenage frame, and his head seemed a touch too big for his body. The fact that he was barely awake didn't help the way he lumbered after Rhea's scent once he caught it, his pace lazy and slow as he navigated through the snow-covered thicket.

Though winter would be gone before long, some snow still remained, and he too saw the collection of pawprints - some made by Rhea, and some made by other packmates. It didn't take long to catch up to her, his ears flicking and a goofy grin taking over his youthful features. It took him a moment longer to realize that she was standing next to weird piles of snow, like someone had tried to form something out of the stuff. Weird. He barked out a greeting, his pace increasing slightly as he waded through the snow to bump his nose to her flank. "The heck is this? You make this?" He.. wasn't even sure what it was, or even how someone would begin making such a snow monster.

The snow-wolf that had caught her attention was a bit of a monstrosity, though perhaps that was to be expected when it's maker didn't exactly have limbs all that adapted to sculpting such things very effectively. Most of the resemblance between the pile of snow and a real wolf came from the lumps on it's head that were carefully smacked on in the best approximation of ears and a muzzle. The craftsmanship - or lack thereof - that really made it a crime against nature came from the pebbles patted into it to make lopsided eyes and a too-small nose, but the worse were the ones that were possibly supposed to be teeth?

She had to laugh, it was so creepy and rediculous looking. Amidst her fit of giggles she heard Corvus arrive. When he asked if she made the monstrosity she vigorously shook her head no. "Nope, I jus' found it. It looks creepy! I think it's supposed to be a wolf? Maybe?" She still held out hope it was just supposed to be a generic monster. Thank goodness it's creator wasn't here to ask her what she thought, Rhea wasn't sure how she'd respond to such a question.

Turning to grin at her brother, Rhea asked, "Think you can make a better one?"

Bleck! What a nightmarish looking thing. Corvus wasn't at all fond of it, and he frowned deeply as he eyed the snow monster. The frown he wore was evidence of his distaste, as he tilted his head and narrowed his eyes in quiet wariness of the thing. He really wasn't sure what the point of this thing was, if it had any point at all. But the more he stared, the more he thought he saw the resemblance between it and a wolf.. or some kind of really freaky canine, at the very least. Kinda.

Weird. Rhea seemed to agree, earning a soft chuckle from Corvus. "Yeah, I don't really know," he snorted in response, shaking his head. "Whatever it is, it looks freaking weird." He shook his head too, squinting harder at it now. His sister asked if he could make a better one.. and he couldn't help but take her words as a challenge. "Uh, obviously," he scoffed matter-of-factly, though the truth was that he had no idea how to even begin and he had a feeling whatever he created would look even more monstrous than this. But oh well...

"But you have to help," Corvus added as casually as he could, almost as an afterthought, as he eyed her sideways. With that being said, he padded a bit away from the snow-wolf-thing to start digging at his own pile of snow. At least it was fairly sticky but he still had no idea how he'd properly mold anything but the body of it...

They were in total agreement; the snow beasts were weird as heck. That made it even more amusing when Corvus took her question as a challenge. A small smirk played at her lips, exposing one of her pointy canines as she reguarded her sibling for a moment to ensure he wasn't simply joking. "I dunnooo, not sure you're the creative type." she giggled in an effort to goad him further.

Prancing after him in a high-stepping trot, Rhea's smirk turned into a grin as she watched her brother trying to gather up the snow. She was happy to help, curious how the snow-wolves had been made and eager to try and recreate - ideally with better results - whatever the creator had done to make them. After some contemplation, she took a great big bite of the snow. Her jaws were gentle enough to just begin to squish it, but only enough so it stuck in a small not-so-round ball. Setting it down, she nosed the snowball around, tail swishing to and fro with excitement as it began to pick up more and more of the loose snow.

She had to remind herself that she couldn't make their snow-wolf too large, and stopped when it was roughly the size of a grown wolf's chest. Turning to Corvus to see how he was doing, she suddenly turned thoughtful when she looked back towards her work. After a bit she called, "Wait, how're we gunna stick the head on?"

Corvus had been partially hoping that Rhea would be too intimidated by his false confidence that she'd lose interest entirely in this snow monster building endeavor. But... although she tended to be easy-going by nature, she wasn't one to back down to her brothers easily. No, she teased him instead, saying she wasn't sure he was the creative type. What, what? How rude! He frowned a bit, shaking his head despite the slight smile that was visible in his emerald gaze. "You... don't know me very good, then," he lied, not sounding the least bit convincing. At all. Rhea knew him better than anyone, except maybe Aiden, and maybe their parents. He really wasn't sure.

Intent on proving her wrong, he busied himself with his snow-digging, only briefly glancing toward her as she took an entire bite of snow. It wasn't long before the two of them had piled up a nice mess of snow. It definitely didn't look like any real creature, but Corvus supposed it was mildly body-like. He turned to nose all around the base, tucking in the snow and giving it somewhat of a better look... sorta. Barely. Rhea's question had him confused all over again, though. "Umm..." He turned to scoop up a mouthful of snow and spit it on top quickly. What resulted was obviously a bunch of it melting, but maybe this tactic would work? "Maybe we do this for awhile?"
