Where were they? Paws drummed against the ground. Mother! Fear overwhelmed her small body. Where were her siblings? Mismatched eye were wide, tears rolling down her cheeks. Dragneel!

Seraphine had been out playing, sh didn't think she was that far away, she was just chasing some small animals. And when she came back she couldn't find the others. They were all gone. The pup was scared, she didn't know what to do. The only thing she could was run, to call for mama Luce and hope she would answer her or come to comfort the child. That didn't happen though, she kept running and running but could not hear her new mother's voice.

She sniffed but didn't stop, turning her head to the sides, shaking the tears off. Did her new mother already abandon her not that she had her own children? Seraphine didn't want to believe that, she wanted to think that she was looking for the lost child, just didn't fin her yet. Yeah, that was it.

Before she knew it the pup's paws suddenly hit air, eyes went wide, head turning to look ahead of her. Then she was gone, overwhelmed by blue. Lost in her fear the pup had not been paying attention to where she was going and went right over a bank and into the river below.

Paws thrashed, body twisting and turning as she tried to get to the surface, the fast current of melted snow throwing her back and forth. After a few moments she hit the surface, paws smacking the water, whines, barks and yelps thrown into the wind. Gasping for air and getting what she needed before being dragged under.

His usual routine of scouting out Ala was disrupted that day by the frantic calls of someone in trouble. Powerful limbs came to a sudden halt, audits pricking forward with attention, trying to locate the source of the distress. That voice...Seraphine? It couldn't be the little girl he had been playing with the other day, could it? But the continuous yelps from the youngster confirmed his worst fear. Seraphine was in trouble. Not wasting another moment, the ivory man sprang into action, limbs a blur beneath his figure as he ran in the direction of the youngster's calls, mismatched gems coming across the delta, a now very much active body of water, its icy depths like rapids thanks to all the melting snow from the passing winter. Seraphine's tiny figure bobbed above the surface of the water for a few moments before going under again, her tiny paws flailing all over the place as she struggled to keep herself alive. Seraphine! came his booming call, using his running momentum to throw himself into the chilled water, desperate to save the youngster.

Cold water rushed over the large man's ivory coat, instantly soaking him to the bone, his body going into shock at the sudden shift in temperature. Demonio fought through it, striking out with his powerful legs in the cold water, moving with the current as he swam towards the smaller figure of Seraphine, lunging beneath the water as he swam beneath him, bursting up towards the surface once more, the child safely cradled across his shoulders. Seraphine, little one, are you okay? Talk to me. he asked worriedly, working with the current as he navigated to the closest bank that would allow him escape from the water's clutches.

She was confused, very, very confused. Seraphine could not tell which direction was up and down, was she going to the surface, or to the bottom of the river? Her body twisted and turned, being tossed around by the current. Bubbles pooled from her lips, eyelids together to prevent her eyes from being damaged. A cry sprung from her jaws but was quickly silenced, water rushing in, body going stiff as it forced its way into her little body. A hit to the head, against a rock on the bottom, causing her world to go black just a second after her eyes had parted.

Had it happened just moments later she would have heard something above the surface, a voice, calling her name. Then a blur of white jumping into the river, making its way over and grabbing her, bringing her to the surface.

Eyelids began to slowly flutter open, ears roaring with the rush of blood, but a voice trying to squeeze its way in. At first she couldn't understand it, the voice was grumbled and low, but after a few moments everything began to clear up. Talk to me. She could understand, recognizing the voice as somebody she knew but just not sure who it actually was.

The world around her also began to clear up, feeling her body bobbing in the water, looking down to see she was on somebody's shoulders. Immediately she began to panic, eyes going wide, paws flying all over, trying to get a hold of the body. Wha-what's going on! She whined, ears back against her head, body shaking in complete fear. She didn't like the water and wanted to get out of here, she wanted to know what was going on.

He didn't care about his safety at the moment. The only thing that mattered right now was getting little Seraphine out of the water. How she had managed to get into the chilled water he could only guess, but that was unimportant at the moment. He had her, and she was safe. That was what mattered. The current was rather strong, pulling his massive body along downstream, but the man beat his legs powerfully against the current, slowly gaining ground as he moved closer and closer to the shoreline. Atop his shoulders lied Seraphine, who was still for several moments before he suddenly felt her stir across him, panic in her voice as she attempted to get a good grip on him. Demonio craned his neck around to catch a glimpse of her, wet nose pushing into her little paw as sign of comfort. It's me little one, Demonio. We met the other day when you were playing with that rock, do you remember? Tones were calm despite the urgency of the situation, trying to keep the child on his back from panicking anymore than she already was.

There. The shore was within his grasp. Forelimbs struck out, claws raking against the wet earth, feeling it give way beneath his grasp. Digging his claws in Demonio pulled himself towards the shore, throwing his forelimbs over the bank, clutching to it desperately, hind limbs frantically clawing at the wet soil in an attempt to get a good grasp. Seraphine, little one, listen to me. Climb up over my shoulders onto my bed and jump onto the bank. Hurry, so you can be safe. Audits flattened against his skull in preparation for her short climb, needing to get her to safety before he could hoist himself up.

After a few seconds the pup was able to figure out who this white wolf was, who the voice belonged to. It's me little one, Demonio. Her eyes went wide when he told her who he was, images of the white man flashing before her eyes of the other day when he had come upon her playing with her rock. If it was him then he was definitely trying to help her! Seraphine had to try being tough, she had told him she wanted to be a warrior! And warriors didn't whine like little pups!

She gave a few quick nods of her head when he asked if she remembered him, trying to cling to his shoulders, not wanting to fall back into the icy water. Her body had been shaking uncontrollably since waking up, teeth starting to chatter. She had been shocked at first, unable to feel how cold it was until now.

Even if she wanted to try being tough, the pup was extremely frightened and cold, whines slipping from between her lips as the man tried getting to the shore. She could feel his body working hard beneath her, struggling against the water but able to get through it unlike her. Soon enough he was clinging to the shore, ears held back against her head but able to catch his voice. He want her to climb over him and onto the bank, to hurry so she could be safe.
What about Demonio? Would he be safe? Would he be able to climb up in time or be swallowed up by the roaring river?

Then she moved, as fast and carefully as she could. Paws spread out to keep her up and somewhat balanced, moving her forward slowly at first then lowering herself and lunging forward. Little paws scrambled against the bank, puling and kicking, pulling herself up after a few moments.

She was shaking terribly, turning her body around as quickly as possible to see if the male would be right beside her. Demonio! Hurry! She barked, paws kneading the grass, hoping he would be able to pull himself up and out of the crazy water.

Demonio held himself steady against the bank, talons digging in as deep as they could go into the soil to keep himself from slipping away and dragging Seraphine back into the water again. He could feel the pull of the current tugging at his massive body, trying to carry him away into the delta again, but the man refused to budge, despite how much his legs were trembling from the exertion of hold on to the bank. He could feel the little girl rise atop his shoulders, carefully making her way over him as she lunged to the bank, scrabbling up its side before safely making it into the bank. Once on solid ground she turned around, yelling at him to hurry. Don't worry about me little one. Just stay far away from the bank. I'm coming up. He motioned with his head for her to back up, waiting until she did before making the struggle to get himself ashore.

Hind limbs scrambled at the soil beneath the water, searching for a secure foot hold in order to help himself up. There. His claws snagged on a few rocks imbedded in the dirt and Demonio took his opportunity, haunches tensing as he pushed off the rocks, forelimbs scrambling to reach out and grab a hold of the bank farther up. Right hind paw slipped, causing the ivory man to fall back towards the water but he caught himself, talons raking against the earth as he halted his backwards fall before pushing himself up against, managing to get the front half of his body onto the shore, hind limbs dangling just above the water. Jaws were parted, panting hard from the exertion in the water, mismatched gems flickering to the youth, needing to know if she was okay.

Her little head nodded as Demonio told her to stay away from the bank. She twisted her shaking body, running off a few feet quickly before turning back around, eyes wide with worry as she watched for the man. She felt useless, like trouble. He had come to help her and now she could do nothing to help him back. Seraphine was too small! All she could do was watch him try to pull himself up, scrambling to get a hold on the slippery bank. Come on Demo! She whined on the inside, paws kneading the ground. You can do it! He had to, he couldn't be swallowed by the water! Where would she go then? Seraphine had no idea where mother and her siblings were, couldn't find Dragneel either.

Finally he pulled himself out, her body perking up. Quickly she ran over to him, making sure to stay away from the edge. She rubbed her face against cheek then his neck, thankful for the male coming to her rescue and for him being alright. Almost done, we need to get away from water. She poke up, voice shaky. Even though the weather had been warming up with Spring, the water was freezing from the melted snow, causing her body to shake badly. So she took a step back, giving him room to stand up so they could leave as soon as possible.

Usually powerful limbs trembled with the effort it had taken to rescue Seraphine from the clutches of the snowy water. Despite risking his own life, Demonio would've done it all over it again if by some chance the child managed to get herself into trouble again. He had become quite fond of the child, seeing her as a daughter of sorts and he knew he would risk his life again and again for the little youth. She had listened well to his instructions, staying well away from the bank, ensuring her safety, allowing the man to focus on getting himself safe before he went back to worry about her. Lungs expanded and deflated with each gulp of air, lids falling closed over his mismatched eyes as he took several moments to gather himself, making an attempt to calm his racing heart before he did anything else.

A gentle nudging to his face and neck caught his attention, lids peeling back against icy and maroon gems, his gaze settling on the little pup as she nuzzled him, apparently thankful for his effort in saving her. A weak smile curled his pale lips, audits rotating forward at her words, crown nodding in agreement. Taking a deep breath, Demonio hoisted himself up, hind paws slipping on the edge of the bank but managing to stay on firm ground, the man giving his pelt a brief shake to get rid of as much excess water as he could before nudging Seraphine. Come little one, lets find somewhere drier to go. He needed to get her dry quickly, he could already see the violent shivers that were overtaking her small frame. She needed warmth. Now.

Ooc: crappy phone post. Also, eve quit so if you would like demo could adopt seraphine now. If not then let me know either way. Lol

Seraphine moved away as Demonio picked himself up, quickly running back over and stood beside him as he said they should find someplace warm. She was freezing, shaking badly. All she wanted was to curl up in a ball, to be warm. "Okay, Im ready." She said softly, giving her body a small shake before moving forward. Hopefully they could find a den soon.

The little youth gave him some space to shake himself off, quickly coming back to his side once he'd finished, shaking uncontrollably as nodded to him, confirming that she was ready to move on. He gave the top of her little head a tender lick, nudging her rump as he encouraged her to keep pace with him, half-numb limbs stirring beneath the ivory man as his mismatched gaze flickered across the unfamiliar landscape, trying to find something that would serve as a makeshift shelter for two soaked lupine. Not to far from the delta's shores the white man was able to spot what looked to be like an old den, used by perhaps a badger, or some other creature. It was about medium size, though not big enough for the two of them. Stand back little one, I have to make this bigger. He nudged Seraphine out of the way, making sure she was clear of the path of any flying dirt before having at the den, talons striking at the dirt repeatedly as he slowly dug the den out.

A smile appeared on her lips as Demo gave her head a tender lick and nudge to the rump, following right beside him. Seraphine would keep up, she head to. There was no way she would let herself fall behind and get lost. She didn't want to lose him like she did Mama Luce. It didn't take long before he found them a den, but there was a problem, it was too small for both of the. With a small whine she looked up to the man, about to as them if they would look for a different one but he spoke first. HE told her to stand back so he could make it bigger, giving her a small nudge. She gave a nod of her head, stepping back a little bit to be out of his way but close enough.

He could feel the exhaustion beginning to creep into his very bones, filling them with lead. His chest expanded and contracted rapidly, the ivory man huffing with the effort it took to dig out the den. Saving Seraphine from the clutches of the river had taken a toll on him but he wasn't about to give up and let the little she-pup freeze to death or even catch a cold. Powerful forelimbs continually dug away at the earth, slowly carving out a larger den, one big enough for the two of them. It wasn't until he was thorough satisfied with the way the new den looked that Demonio halted his digging, motioning for Seraphine to follow him, pale limbs collapsing beneath him as he fell to the ground in a heap, mismatched gems fluttering closed an instant later. He'd never been this tired before. Audits flickered gently to and fro, waiting to catch Seraphine's little paws beating the earth as she joined him in the new den.

From where she stood, little Seraphie could see that Demo was really tired. The water must have done to him like it did to her, made her body hurt and made her wanna sleep. She yawned from her place, the shivering stopping for only a moment but then continuing. Within moments he finished digging out the den for them, collapsing to the ground inside. Slowly she moved, padding over along side him, pressing her face into his neck before lowering herself to the ground, pressed right up against him and curled into a ball. "Demo... thank you." She said into his fur, eyes closing slowly.

He had never been this exhausted in his life. Even when he'd been making the trek from his homeland to the rest of the world, the white man had never been this thoroughly exhausted. His body felt like it was made of lead and it was someone had pinned rocks on his eyelids; he could barely lift them. His pale pelt clung to his muscular torso, looking rather disheveled with all the dirt that was clinging to it now. He could care less about his appearance at the moment. Sleep and making sure Seraphine was okay were his main priorities. Speaking of Seraphine, he could hear the quiet thumping of small paws as she made her way inside the new den, pressing her darker head against his neck as she thanked him, snuggling into his side. With much effort the brute managed to peel his eyelids back, revealing dreary icy and maroon eyes. You're very welcome little one. He murmued gently, his voice thick with exhaustion.

ooc: Naughty Azzy just realized she never noticed Demo's different colored eyes. xD Also, I'm thinking we could end this thread after she tells him she wants to be his kid, like in the middle of the night, sound okay?

Little ears twitched at the man's voice, rubbing her face into his fur a few more times before she finally lifted her head to look up at him. When she did though she noticed something about him that she didn't catch before his eyes, one was blueish and the other reddish, it made the little girl smile. ?Demo... you have... pretty eyes...? Eyes would slowly close, slightly open, then close more, sleeping coming over the child. The day had been hard on her, losing her family, nearly drowning, being saved by Demo. Within seconds her eyes were completely shut, her chest rising and falling with her breaths. She needed, no, they both needed some sleep, to relax and regain their strength. Who knows what would happen the next day.

He had never been so glad to be able to lie down in his life. Though his wet fur made the dirt cling to his pelt, at this point he didn't really care. Dirt or not dirt, dirty or clean, Demonio just really wanted to get some sleep and he was sure Seraphine shared the same sentiment. A sleepy smile curled the edges of his pale lips as she pushed her head against him a few more times before looking up at him, her own mismatched eyes meeting his icy and maroon ones, apparently having noticed them for the first time. He chuckled quietly, allowing his bi-colored eyes to disappear from view as sleep tugged at his consciousness. Yours are very pretty too Seraphine... He trailed off, already asleep before he'd finished uttering the last word. Sleep was such a beautiful thing.

OOC: Sounds good to me and silly azzy XD
