It was still a brand new concept to the female that leadership was within her grasp. Bass especially had always raised her to think big, but somehow ownership of Abaven had never even crossed her mind. Now that it was here she was determined to make it work. She had so much to plan and do and consider that ideas where crawling out of her ears. She needed to make her way to the battlefield and recruit wolves. A pack didnt thrive on goodwill and hope alone. It needed pack mates and structure.

She also needed to add to their medical supplies, find hunting grounds, and build alliances with packs. She was only one wolf but she was determined to do everything as efficiently and properly as she could. First came alliances. She could keep an eye out for wolves to recruit all the way.

A tradition her father had once mentioned, was beginning trade or alliance negotiations with a gift. It had to be something exotic and rare, or interesting and practical. She was instead mixing it up and going for something exotic and practical... she just hoped she had the right idea.

She took a jar from Aunt Rhys old dead. It had once stored honey, and still had a slight sweet tang to it. She tried not to think of her Auntie too hard, if she stopped and mourned every wolf she had lost she would never get up and get going again.

Jar I'm hand, existing honey trace as bait, she made her way to firefly lake in the late evenings to set her plan in motion. Arriving by the lake side, she would open the jar, lay it on the earth, and sit back to wait and watch.

The large herbivore had been enjoying his stay at the lake, occasionally wandering away but often returning simply because it was the perfect place to cool off a while during the summer. Sporting his large antlers which had him carrying his head just a touch lower. They got heavier every year, and more elaborate.

Today he was headed towards the lake, moving at a swift pace as though he were in some rush. He wasn't, but he was eager to see the lands' main attraction as the sky grew darker. He arrived at the opposite side of the lake as the wolf, though he failed to notice her for the first little while. His blue and green eyes were surveying the area around him, waiting to see the first sparks of fireflies taking flight before he moved.

Intend on her objective, she didn't immediately notice when another creature joined the party. The lake was huge, and she didn't hear his movement across the other side of it. Her eyes where only for the jar. Evening bugs, enticed by the scent of honey, buzzed about her jar. A few got stuck in the sticky sap, and her bait would complete itself.

As the evening wore on, fireflies buzzed about her still body, casting a glow across the lake and glistening across the silvers on that highlighted her dark-coated body. At last, a few, curious, landed on her jar.
The wolf crept closer.
They began to feast on the bugs trapped there. Shaye reached the jar, lid in her mouth, and lunged. The fireflies took off in the air, fluttering away. Her mouth and stopper landed over empty jar, and she let out a frustrated noise, mixed between a soft howl and a growl. The light if the fireflies near her went out, and most fluttered away from her.

Watching their ascent through the air, her eyes moved over the lake, and caught the creature that stood there. Its noble body was boosted by long legs, and a powerful rack of bone adorned its crown. She raised an eyebrow, knowing how easy it would be for the creature to impale her, and was reluctant to hunt such a creature alone.

As the lightning bugs lit up in their brilliant display while darkness encroached, the bull meandered along the shore of the lake. Nibbling here and there at the vegetation he huffed softly. It was a pleasant evening. That made him hungry. He was always hungry. And since his friends had been scarce he had ample opportunity now to fill his stomach with all manner of green things. Of course he'd never say aloud that he would much rather have been pestered and bothered since it meant he knew his companions were okay.

The sound of the wolf scuffling nearby was what alerted him to her presence. Swinging his head over to look at the dark lupine who seemed visibly frustrated, Atlas chuckled as he noted the jar at her paws. Sweeping one antler through the reeds by the water, he watched as a group of fireflies took flight, blinking here and there with their soft glows.

"You're trying to catch them?" he finally asked, looking to the wolf who'd regarded him from a distance. It wasn't often he spotted wolves making use of old human objects. Usually it was the smaller creatures.
