Vail felt like she had accomplished little since her time in Abaven had begun. She and Solor had started their little healer garden, but the variety was lacking. Though she was disabled slightly she couldn’t bear to just lay around in her den, so she had decided to take Notch out to look for more species to cultivate. Of course, Vail never meant to travel far from home while she was alone. She’d mentioned her future outing to Rhyme, who’s duties entailed accompanying those who wished to leave the borders for protection. She insisted she would be fine, convincing him to stay behind and work on other duties as Vail didn’t plan to go very far.

He knew she would be out though, and that seemed to satisfy him. He’d warned if she was gone much after the sun reached it’s full height he was coming after her. She believed him. So as the early morning sun’s first rays reached over the land Vail would leave Abaven’s borders, following Notch into the relatively unknown.

Their trip remained relatively uneventful until she noticed her paws were falling on stone rather than the lush grass that covered much of the east. She wondered where Notch had decided to take her, and if there were even any herbs to be found here. The sulfur assaulted her nose and she wasn’t a fan of the sharp stones that poked into her paws pads.

”Notch, where in the world are you taking me?” She called out ahead to the tiny screech owl as he made his way to the thinning tree branches. She knew the elevation would begin to rise, and really had little desire to make her way to the top of the volcano.

Well everything was going incredibly wrong wasn't it? Pari felt abandoned, left alone again and her mind had shut down again. In a desperate bid she'd moved from the original den of the lambs out onto the volcano; hoping someone, anyone would see her and give her meaning again. She wasn't going to move from the former lands of her previous master though; no she didn't have the courage to break the last few orders she'd been given.

As the woman stood on hunger shaking legs she scanned desperately. Mullbery gaze lifted to find someone, anyone. It didn't take much to spot the pale figure making it's way up the volkano then, the wolf's fur standing in stark relief against the dark stone. Slowly the woman limped down the slope, she hadn't eaten in a while, taking only the scraps she could find and so her movements were weak and shaky. She also wouldn't approach too much, only getting as close as she dared in assuming the wolf would be able to spot her. Then she dropped onto her stomach, ears flattening against her skull and averting her gaze, a weak cracking whine pulling from her lungs.

"speech!"

Vail continued to pick over the increasingly difficult terrain, the rocks were somewhat loose and Notch was getting too far away to be much help. She grumbled slightly under her breath as he continued on, debating of she could navigate herself or call him back to help her. She was mumbling so much she didn't hear the other wolf approach until the pitiful whine reached her ears. Vail stopped dead in her tracks, ears erect more use detecting the stranger then her eyes. She saw nothing but rocks, but the scent and sound were enough to direct the pale rose she wolf where she needed to be. Curiosity more than anything drove her, she knew lone wolves could be as dangerous as they were friendly. "Who's there?" She called out curiously as her paws stepped forward cautiously.

Notch returned to her shoulder, in case of a fight he wouldn't be much use except as a distraction. She continued to try and see the form of the creature who had approached, and eventually thought she made out a wolf shape in the gray of the rocks. "Are you hurt?" She was able to call out more directly at the stranger this time, still cautious in the presence of one she didn't know.

Trick!

Pari gets a trick!

Actually... let's be honest, Pari is having a pretty bad time as it is. The Ardent gods have decided to spare her from any further misery. Pari gets... nothing!

Treat!

Vali gets a treat!

Even from a great distance, it is obvious to Vali that Pari is injured. A good healer will be able to assess some injuries and ailments without being too close to their patient. Vali will get +5 healing points if she inspects the stranger's ailments in (1) more post!

Pari kept her gaze down, only just able to make out the stranger on her approach up the mountain. It seemed she hadn't been spotted yet, something she found hard to believe at this distance but still she appeared to have gone unnoticed. Which was a bit of an odd comfort to the woman; she was used to being mostly ignored. Still she was desperate to not be left behind this time.

Finally it seemed she'd been noticed, the unknown woman called out. A question and Pari whined again, shaking her head. She was no one, not worthy of speaking her name allowed and yet she'd been asked a question. Swallowing hard the woman spoke for the first time in a while, her voice hoarse from lack of use. "I'm no threat." It was the truth, though she feared a bit presumptuous to assume.

The woman spoke again, another question and Pari silently wished for an end of questions. Questions like this would not get her out of this situation. "A bit." Was all she'd answer, dropping her gaze again as she recognized the pale woman's eyes on her form. Why this wolf cared if she was hurt she'd never know and to be honest she felt uncomfortable being asked such vulnerable questions about herself. She'd have given anything right now to be told what to do.

Vail tilted her head curiously, only barely able to make out the other woman’s form. She could smell dried blood then, and wondered what happened to the poor woman. She mentioned she was no threat, but seemed hesitant to admit she was hurt. Vail tried to take a couple of steps closer as the woman hunched on the ground. ”You should let me see your wounds,” She tried not to command the woman, but her inner nurse was coming out. If Pari let her Vail would lean down, tentatively pushing her nose towards her new companion. She could see that she was emaciated, even her strained gaze could figure that out. She tried to smell out any infection, and felt a little worried about her. She thought she smelled infection, ad wondered if she’d broken any bones. ”What happened?” She asked softly as she tried to continue searching for wounds, wondering if she might be allowed closer to inspect with her more sensitive sense of touch.

Soon enough Pari would get her wish, the pale woman finally giving her an order... of sorts. Enough so that she would at least gently roll her limbs out from under her, laying out on the stone as the woman poked and prodded at her with her nose. Still, more questions would fall from the stranger's lips and Pari flinched slightly. As the pale pink of the woman's nose would rove over her body she'd shiver and could feel her skin twitch every time she passed over a scar, too long healed to be painful but sensitive nonetheless.

"The pack I was in disappeared." She'd keep her words careful and short, not wishing to speak more than was demanded of her by the question. "I was left here." That was all she could say, to her it was the most logical response. She hadn't been taken with anyone so she'd stayed, she wasn't to move until told to. She didn't talk of her scars and her emaciation, the scars were something she'd had for as long as she could remember, sure she got new ones regularly but that was just part of her life. As for her lack of food... that was a byproduct of being left to fend for herself, a wolf who'd never learned how to hunt...
