With nary a care Jupiter ambled through the creepy forest. Upon seeing the foreboding trees and the consuming darkness below their tangled tops, Amadeus had bailed on the adventure so Jupiter was alone. That suited him just fine although he was going to miss having someone to bounce snarky comments off of. The forest just demanded them. Oooo what a creepy spider. Doesn't that hollow look like the perfect place to hide a body? Amadeus didn't know what he was missing. Oh, well. Jupiter would just have to amuse himself. His grandfather had told him about this place, how he'd used to scare Jupiter's father when he misbehaved with stories of some kind of evil white witch who ate puppies, so naturally Jupiter had decided to visit. Not knowing him well, Jupiter was curious about Angelus' childhood. He craved the kind of closeness Valentine described, how his aunts and uncles had bickered, fought and bonded in the south. More than anything else he wanted what they'd had and it made him sad to think of his own fractured little family. If he ever had kids, he vowed, he'd make sure to give them all the things he'd wished he'd had as a child. Realizing he'd fallen into some kind of broody funk, Jupiter shook himself and redirected his attention to his surroundings. Up ahead was a patch of sunlight. Surrounded as he was by darkness, Jupiter was drawn to it like a moth to flame. He stepped into it and basked in the warmth while he tried to decide his next course of action. This dark forest was no place for an angel to be, Chael could feel that much in her bones. Of course, the young beauty hadn't really gained much experience with woods that were as thick as these. It almost chilled her, the way the light barely filtered down from the thick branches above. Not that she was frightened, simply, apprehensive. What could be lurking in this forest? Her mostly white body stood out in the relative darkness of the shadows, and she felt an odd vulnerability in this new place, one that was disconcerting, to say the least. Chael kept moving though, not wanting to be in this place for too long and unsure why she had even entered this godforsaken place. A flash of blue caught her eye, and she stared into the darkness to find the source. Convinced it was some kind of bird, Chael followed the path it had seemed to be on. Spotting a wide beam of sunlight piercing the infernal darkness, Chael moves faster toward it, relieved to find some light at last. She is utterly surprised when she discovers the patch is already taken. Her opalescent eyes widen and she pauses midstep and gasps, finally realizing that this was the blue flash she had seen earlier. Regaining herself after her rather uncouth entrance, Chael shook her head and gave the flashy male a beautiful grin. "Hello there, I couldn't help but notice you seem a little...blue..." Her tail waved behind her to show her good-natured jest, and she hoped this spirit didn't take offense to it. She wasn't sure what was throwing her off, she was usually the best at conversation. Maybe it was the fact that he was her favorite color or maybe the fact that he rather suddenly appeared in the only light source around. She would never admit such a thing out loud to another soul, but she suspected the male was some sort of spirit. Though, in this place, he could well be a demon. Either way, Chael figured she would find out soon enough. Action. "Talking." "You." Chael Anjelico

Jupiter snorted derisively and shook his head to chase away the melancholy. He was being ridiculous. This mopey woe-is-me nonsense was for the birds. He shouldn't care. He knew he shouldn't. There were much more important things to think about than the deficiencies of his childhood. For example, where he was going to get his next adrenaline fix. Or finding where all the pretty girls hung out so he could camp out there. Priorities. "I couldn't help but notice you seem a little...blue..." Upon hearing the woman's voice Jupiter canted his head to the side and cast the woman a sly, side-eyed glance. The corners of his mouth rose slightly in an amused smirk. "Blue," he said with an easy laugh, "Is what I do best." The glance out of the corner of his eye didn't let him get a good look at the girl so he turned to face her. His expectations were high as he did so; her voice was pretty and he hoped the rest of her matched. Jupiter was not disappointed and upon realizing that a pretty girl had graced him with her presence, his amused smirk turned into an easy smile. "Although," he said cheekily, studying her so she'd know without a shadow of a doubt he was talking about her, "Now I'm not feeling quite so blue anymore." "Jupiter"   "Amadeus" ”You”

Her remark earned her a sidelong glance from the male, and she widened her grin to a smile as he responded with a coolly delivered retort, "Blue is what I do best." This earned a small laugh from Chael, unable to help herself at the display of wit. Turning to fully look at her, the male gave her a smirk and said he wasn't feeling so blue anymore. "But, you wear it so well," she said to him, making a point to lash her tail in lofty and eloquent fashion, curling it about her paws as she sat before him. "Though, my presence has been known as paradisical." Another easy smile was given as she accepted his compliment, holding herself a bit more proudly rather than the tenative mess she had been before. "What brings you all the way out here?" She asked before she caught a rather egregious etiquette error, "Before I come off as rude, I am Chael Anjelico, and I hope it continues to be a pleasure to know you." With a wink and a teasing grin, Chael watches his response and gauges his reactions to her. It was her first real run-in with the spiritual after all, and she didn't want to come across as uncouth. That would destroy her before she even got to build anything! She would disappoint her entire pack and family if she ruined her chances before getting to start, and she had to accomplish her first solo mission! Her entire first year had been spent in preparation for moments like these, and she sat here feeling as though she was babbling. The encounter reminded her of a lesson with her teacher back home, when she was too excited and puppylike to shut up and the grizzled old buzzard had yelled at her so harshly she had run to her mother. Chael kept herself calm, however, refusing to show a stranger that he made her more nervous than the old assassin who taught her how to fight. Action. "Talking." "You." Chael Anjelico

"Same, Chael," he agreed warmly. "And the name's Jupiter," he bowed grandly before fixing her with a wry smile that undermined the grandiosity of his gesture. "Jupiter Imperialis." "And uh..." he swept a slow glance across their surroundings beofre turning back to Chael and shrugging nonchalantly. "When I was little," you know, a couple months ago, "My grandfather liked to try to scare me with stories about this place. And I decided, now that I'm a "big strappin" man"," he said with a self-deprecating smile, "I thought I'd check it out for myself. See if the boogeyman's real." "Jupiter"   "Amadeus" ”You”

Jupiter bowed as he introduced himself, making Chael grin and laugh softly as he smiled at her. She had stumbled upon another imperial member then, how fortuitous for the angel to discover the divine among the rabble! She considered herself to be very lucky indeed as she watched the blue male and listened to his tidbit of back story. She could see how this place could be frightening as a pup, but now, she could only see a dark and misty wood that had choked itself off from life. "Would you like some help in this boogeyman hunt? If you really want to find such a creature." She gave him a soft smile and laughed to show she teased him just a little. It was unlike a stranger to admit a fear so soon, though the really confident often would. "I am not fond of the darkness, but I will go with you if you want?" She hoped he would at least take her up on her offer of company. Action. "Talking." "You." Chael Anjelico
