I mean I guess they're pretty

Her brow was deeply furrowed as she marched across the plains, lips pursed as her face slowly scrunched up into a look of humorless confusion. Last time she checked it was still early on in the evening, maybe more like late afternoon still. Yet... Everywhere she looked, fireflies drifted through the long grasses of the plains. With each step she took, more took flight, occasionally flickering as the little lights they boasted flared to life.
Uhm, what. This didn't happen the last dozen times she came here. Seiran supposed she could chalk it up to some strange, freak phenomenon. Maybe they were having an extended, out of control breeding season or... something. Or maybe this just happened and she'd never witnessed it before. Either way, it was distracting her from herb hunting which was a bit irritating to the young healer.

He and Fauldr had left the empire once again, making use of the late wet season to gather more herbs for his personal stores. As he shuffled along with his bags secured to his back the primate made a game of snapping at the glittering flies surrounding them. Rain could only shake his head to himself keeping his own tremulous thoughts to himself. The fireflies reminded him of his last meeting with his grandmother and how his thoughts had been far too preoccupied with his own problems to appreciate either the fireflies or his grandmother's presence. He realized then how much he truly missed his grandmother, and as he watched the fireflies waltz above him he realized for the first time how much he truly missed his grandmother, his sister, but most of all his mother.

Pyralis strolled through the plains, trying to calm her nerves. She'd been restless all day, pacing back and forth in her den and then around the castle. She had yet to pinpoint the cause of this sudden swell of fits but she didn't bother to think too much on it. She didn't want to think on it. It was probably just an excess of energy from being cooped up in her den for a bit and she was sure that if she just exercised it off she'd be feeling a lot better. Really she needed to exercise more. She used to wander all the time and lately she'd just been lazing about in the empire.
But what to do with herself? She was pondering this question when she noticed Seiran, one of Razi's young wandering about. Shilah had already left for parts unknown. She couldn't blame him for being restless and needing to get away, it was something she understood all too well but she felt bad for the girl. Didn't seem right for him to leave her like this. She was about to speak when she was distracted by a mob of fireflies. There seemed to be hundreds of them. She growled and swatted at one that had the audacity to land on her. She knew this was some sort of mating thing and she didn't want the little critters breeding on her.

Please note that Pyralis is a ghost. It is up to you to decide what level your chars can see/hear her. She was killed by having her throat ripped apart. At times the wound may be visible and be actively bleeding.
Hear ye! Hear ye! Beware her Ladyship, her Excellence (etc. ad infinitum), Captain Pyralis Abraxas. Thread with at yer own risk! This cutthroat savage stands accused though not convicted of heinous crimes including murder, maiming, brawling, cursing, kidnapping and an unspeakable event involving a newt, two coyotes and a distressed potoo. Ye've been warned!

Stamping her way across the grass, shaking her paws with each step to send the many bugs that kept trying to land on her on their way, Seiran sneered the whole way and eventually she was just distracted by trying to escape the things. Eventually she just forgot about herbs and decided to try and get out of here without stepping on too many glowing bugs. She'd crunched one under her toes already; nasty.
Shuddering, the youngster turned to look out across the plains for the quickest path away and spotted Pyralis. Seiran had been around the woman before but they'd never really had any real conversations. Tip toeing closer, Sei approached and briefly wondered if she could use the older Abraxas as a shield to hide from all these insects. "I've never seen so many bugs before, who told them they could be everywhere" she groaned by way of greeting.
Focusing so hard on safely making her way to her aunt without getting more bug bits between her paw pads, she failed to notice the other pack member she'd yet to meet.
