She was back home where she belonged. Back among her kin. She had to admit, she missed being among her kind. There were a few new scents that she noticed, and she was curious about what she missed while she was gone. Her curiosity would have to wait to be satiated, however. By this time, she was starting to feel the effects of an early pregnancy. At first, she chalked it up to maybe eating something that didn't settle well with her, but having been one experienced in aiding others with their pregnancies, she knew she was pregnant. The male she met in the first back in Boreas was the culprit, but part of her was glad. He was an impressive specimen, so she had no regrets about that encounter.

She decided to start her day by going out to collect some herbs. And lucky for her, Malleus had chosen a herbal paradise to claim, so she didn't have to go far. Everything was practically at her doorstep since she chose to den in the garden. Her choice herb today was yarrow, since it would be good to use during her pregnancy. Abraxas blood was strong, and her pups would no doubt, strengthen their Fallen army.

Rain had been out that morning for his own reason, although there were many beneficial herbs Rain had found that there were just as many fatally poisonous plants within the garden, or those that would leave one who injested them with severe adverse effects. He had been surprised to find that although he had considered his healing skills to be subpar they seemed to be impressive compared to the other wolves of the empire. In another life his father might have been impressed with his progress but that was hardly any of his concern now.

As he rooted through the garden the sound of movement caught his attention and he raised his head to investigate. It was a woman, far older than most of the members of the empire but with the distinct trailing eye markings of an Abraxas. He couldn’t recall having seen her at the meeting Malleus had called over a season ago, and Rain felt an odd disorientation at the realization that the Abraxas had far greater numbers than he had first thought.

“Good evening.” He called softly, then carefully waded through the overgrown plants toward her, his pose carefully submissive but with a confidence that showed he had no true fear of being hurt by her.
