As of late he had been feeling fairly bitter about how things had ended up. His life had been turning out to be a life filled with him getting abandoned. He hadn't been able to find Adore's scent, nor could he find any sign of his new friend Etain. Once again it was back to him and Bones. Bones had been the only creature that would never leave his side and at times the little devil even swore if he died he would still be fallowing him. It was strange, but Chasm felt a rather strong brotherly bond with the Tasmanian devil. Together the two had traveled North, far from everything they knew so well and into the bitter life of the North. So far it wasn't really panning out and the two were a bit underweight. They were considering heading back South, but for some reason they had lingered in the north. Winter was around the corner and Chasm feared the two of them would not survive unless they moved South Bones on the other hand still was determined to explore more into the North.

Today the two of them came across one of the more beautiful places that the North hid from the rest of the world. The frozen lake looked different from afar, with the natural looking ice arches, but when they inspected closer they found the glowing algae below the ice. Chasm's duel colored gaze was staring at the ice below his front paws, staring in wonder. Bones was continuing to work his way across the ice towards one of the arches to inspect them closer.

Making progress on exploring the rest of the surrounding lands near his pack was taking some time, since he still had to do his other duties and ensure that the border was well marked always and no trespassers went unnoticed. He still needed more strong fighters to take some of the load off as far as patrols went, so he always kept an eye out for wandering loners who might be potential members and even went so far as to occasionally seek out and follow the scents of others when he caught them on the wind. He'd made a commitment in founding this pack and he planned to put his everything into building it up into something great.

Today he was on one such mission to follow what he'd thought was a trace of a scent. It didn't seem to have a pack smell, but the scent was so very faint since he'd caught it from a ways away, and by the time he'd thought he was getting close the wind shifted and Ig had no idea where to go from there. He'd wandered aimlessly across the lake of ice spires, trying to figure out why the concept of huge ice formations actually felt familiar since he knew he had never seen any before. So absorbed was he that he almost missed the other man standing nearby. It was only that tiny hint of unnatural color in the corner of his eye that got Ig to turn his head and finally spot the rainbow coated wolf. Unnatural colors weren't foreign to him, but seeing a rainbow painted on someone's back was certainly a new one.

Barking a greeting, Ig stepped closer. Closer inspection revealed how underfed the guy actually looked, and being the soft-hearted creature he was, Ig immediately wondered if he could help him get food or if there was some back in the gorge that would be easy to carry. Hmm... He turned his contemplative frown into a welcoming smile when he thought the other wolf had turned to look at him.

A bark drew his attention from gawking at the structure and he turned his head to look back at a wolf more exotic looking then himself. He looked like a beautiful fight between fire and ice and it made his Rainbow back feel extremely plain compared to the other male. His expression was friendly and welcoming and really the young male was craving for social interaction aside from his constant companion. Since the male didn't seem to be threatening, Chasm decided it would be cool to get to know him. Chasm gave a slight smile and wag of his tail in a quiet greeting to the other.

"Hey" he called out to the male. "You don't happen to know what this place is do you?"

It was a way to start a conversation, plus he was curious about this place. Maybe this male lived around here and wound know what this territory was called and how all those ice like arches had formed. Maybe the male knew a lot of the north and Chasm could actually gain some useful knowledge from him.

It only took a moment for the other to seemingly determine Ignatius was someone that was okay to approach, calling back with a greeting of his own. Maintaining a friendly posture, Ig canted his head at the question that was posed to him, red and blue eyes breaking eye contact for a moment to gaze back at the great pillars of ice. "Unfortunately I do not, although it does seem to be a lovely place worth investigating, doesn't it?" A faintly toothy smile accompanied the words. He'd heard there was a place with ice pillars in the northern kingdom back... Forget it. He didn't need to keep comparing the places. It felt like too much of his identity still came from his past, and Ignatius wanted that to change.

"I live relatively close by, but this is the first time I've come this far north. My name is Ignatius Agnivo," he introduced himself, remembering his manners. "Don't suppose you've seen any prey wandering nearby have you?" He wasn't sure that much of anything was living here, but if there was prey to be found it was entirely possible Ignatius would find a way to get some food for the hungry-looking wolf.

Chasm nodded to the male in a quiet reply to his question. He agreed that it was a place worth taking time to admire and thoroughly explore. They had been doing just that and it seemed his companion continued to explore while he talked. He did say he lived near by which meant the male had to be more familiar with the North. Maybe he even knew of good hunting locations. Chasm drew himself out of shouting range as the male introduced himself.

"Chasm Agatsuma, nice to meet you," he introduced himself in return. "Not so far, I'm been trying to track something down all morning."

He knew him and Bones should move on soon and find something to eat. They were both hungry and could use something good to eat.

"Do you know of any good hunting spots nearby?" he asked.

"Likewise," came the automatic response. His mind was already working on answering the question of where to get some food for the other male. Studying the rainbow-backed wolf for a moment, Ignatius' brow furrowed for a few seconds. He knew what he wanted to do already, but this nagging voice in the back of his mind that sounded very much like Mars criticized the decision. Screw that voice.

"Hmm..." Ignatius gave it another moment before he smiled and shrugged, "I do prefer to look a little further south of here around my pack lands. Forgive my forwardness, but, would joining a pack be something you'd be interested in? We have plenty of room for new members, and I'd be happy to elaborate on what Fýri is like." Anyone else would probably tell Ignatius not to wear his heart on his sleeve so often if they could see how easily he decided to take in those who seemed to be in need. He probably wouldn't listen to them though. He had plenty of back-up at home, and felt confident in his decisions. This was his pack to run his way. He wouldn't be doing things the way they were done where he grew up. Maybe that was what drove these choices. The desire to prove he was different.
