Joshua and Jericho
Which meant this pack simply couldn't continue to reside here.
Or maybe they could as long as he could use it.
He intended to find out.
Coming to the border, Archon made a simple and clear call for the leader. He stood full height and with superbly groomed fur. He was here on business. One way or another, he was getting the church. What was one more obstacle in the way?
Tyranis arrived at the Shrine border with his head raised, exuding confidence and authority over the loner standing at his gates. True this loner smelled of other wolves, but lacked the scent of a distinct territory unlike him and the gathered masses of Erövrare.
“State your business.” He demanded roughly while the raven flew in a wide circle around them. Something about the man unsettled him although he could not place why.
Speech, Thought, You |
The alpha male seemed to attempt to offset his short comings- of which Archon noted to be around 6 inches in some wolfen unit or another- with an eager stature and loud voice earning him one thought from the Godly man: Unpleasant. Archon kept his face slick, resisting both the urge to smirk down at the alpha or to scrunch his face at the pleasantries.
He barked a command and Archon let out a small breath. Pack wolves were always like this, weren't they?
"Simply put," he said, speaking slowly in hopes that the mortal could follow without offense. "I would like to know how attached you are to this land."
He let the words roll off his tongue and hang in the air for a moment, his own stature mirroring the confidence of the alpha. Alphaship held no power over a mere loner, did it?
"Because if you are any less than completely attached to it, I have the mind to ask you to abandon it."
Did he expect the alpha to agree and move? No. But at least he could try to be cordial.
He looked at the man in utter disbelief at what he had just heard. Abandon his shrine because some male told him to? With a look to his companion the raven flew toward the woods where the majority of his pack lived. Something told Tyranis the man would not be leaving without a fight.

He should have been praying.
He asked why he would do that. Archon let out a light, disappointed sigh- one that seemed to almost suggest that Tyranis had missed something painfully obvious. It was like a pup after they had missed one too many prey pounces during training. Even if he tried, he just couldn't get it.
And then he got all defensive. It was easy to understand that in the presence of such greatness, such power, that the smaller ruler would feel threatened and cornered even in his own pack. His display of defensiveness reeked of fear and Archon had to put some effort into not smiling confidently when he went to answer.
"Oh, well, because I want it. God wants it- and it will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." Archon wondered if it was even worth explaining. "I thought maybe you would want to save face for your pack or save your packmates from the pain of being forcibly uprooted."
Was that a challenge? Maybe it was a challenge. Archon glanced towards Obi's direction, setting himself up defensively in case the monochromatic alpha didn't take kindly to his next words.
"Tell me, would you rather settle this here or in the battlefield?"
The male’s words made the hackles on his back rise with fury. For an instant he nearly charged forward, ready to tear him apart but higher reasoning kept him still. Slowly he let the raised fur on his back settle into place and continued to keep his regal composure as he watched the male. The man's challenge was an empty, hollow thing which he wouldn't honor regardless of whether or not the male won. The man was a beggar zealot who had gotten too absorbed in his own ravings.
“I don’t need to fight some raving lunatic or his miserable god .” Tyranis said resolutely. “If you want it so bad come and take it from me.” He said and turned his back on the male. He made a point of lifting his leg and marking one of the scattered stones of the shrine while the stranger could still see him before he skulked away unbothered.
-Exit Tyranis-

"I fully intend to," he reassured the other. The alpha went into full compensation mode, making a big show of his exit. Archon shot a look to Obi who made no attempt to hide his snickering expression. What a typical mortal king, so insecure in himself that he had to go around making a big show about it. He was sure the given the opportunity the big and strong king would have his pack tear Archon to pieces rather than risk his own hide in battle.
A shame he would be forced to do the latter, as a true alpha. Archon let out another disappointed sigh and headed to gather his band and head to the battlefield.
