Valentine had finally come up with a solution to his freezing cold problem. Fire. He'd heard of wolves who kept a little fire going in their den to keep themselves warm, but he'd never done it himself. Well, those days were behind him because what did he have smoldering in a weird little bundle made by a sketchy-looking trader? That's right, folks, Valentine Imperialis had fire. Be afraid. Be very afraid. With that bundle he'd received a lesson in fire-keeping. Most of it had gone in one ear and out the other, but he'd retained enough to make himself foolhardy. Presently he was running through the Range with a smoking bundle clutched in his jaws. He was headed for the tractor. Of course there wasn't room under it for both him and the fire, but Valentine had a plan. There was a big twisted piece of metal beside the tractor that he thought would make a good windbreak. Reaching the tractor, Valentine quickly circled around it and laid the fire bundle on the rim of one of its big wheels. There wasn't much to the embers inside it, but they put off a steady stream of smoke as they chewed through the layers that held them in place and the plume could be see from quite some distance away. Valentine paid it little attention as he turned to eye the piece of metal. Now, how to make this into something useful... ""

She had finally finished a respectable den deep within the earth, large enough to hopefully hold a family someday, and lined with pelts for warmth. It was placed perfectly in the middle of the Range and the Knolls so that no matter where meetings would be called she would be able to hear the call loud and clear. Now the women was working on a second den, not that far from her first, this den would be for her herbs she would gather when spring would come. This den would take a lot more work be she was getting there day by day. It was back breaking, but she needed to have it ready for spring.

She shook the dirt from her pelt as she exited the den, stretching her form and loosening her worked muscles. She had been working all morning and needed a break, the ground was still frozen and it made her job a lot more difficult. She looked around for a moment until something caught her attention. Something she had never seen before and honestly she couldn't explain what it was. She quickly headed off to investigate. It was within pack lands and it needed to be checked out. When she got closer she could fully make out the grey plume rising from the tractor and that smell? She wrinkled her nose at the smell, but pressed on.

Soon she could see a form around the tractor and she wondered what on earth was going on. She got close enough that she didn't need to shout at him.

"What on earth are you doing," she asked, confusion on her face.

"Speech"

Okay, what next. The guy had said something about digging a hole and protecting it - more or less - from the elements. Or did he say protecting the elements from the fire? He probably should have paid more attention. "What on earth are you doing?" Valentine peeked around the tractor. Ah god why did Chaos have to have so many pretty wolves in his pack. It was unfair, really, to cage him in with them and expect him to be good. For no other reason than that the wolf addressing him was attractive, Valentine decided to be nice. "I'm getting ready to dig a fire pit." A thought struck him then. If he wanted to ogle this pretty lady - and boy did he ever - the odds of being able to do that would go up if she stuck around. "I thought it'd be nice to have something like this to keep me warm on cold nights." His expression brightened as though an idea had just struck him. "You know, if you'd be interested in a fire of your own, I could use a little help in digging." Perhaps the promise of a trade would keep her around. ""

She didn't know the other male, but as he peeked around the tractor and she caught sight of the dots under his eyes it only made her assume that he was somehow related to Chaos. That alone was interesting enough to her. She felt she didn't know to much about her new alpha and maybe she could learn something. This pack was after all her home and she needed to learn about the rest of the members within the pack. The male was also a decent amount bigger then her, matching the height of Chaos himself.

Next thing that perked her interest was his reply. A fire pit...... What in the world was a fire pit? Why would you want to be near anything as destructive as fire? Sure it could keep you warm, but it could also burn you and kill you. She still looked a little confused even as the male's expression brightened offering her to help him with this process. Could it be that dangerous or was she simply overacting? There was only one way to find out and she was a healer in case there ended up being harm done. Bright green eyes would look to his eyes for a moment before smiling lightly.

"Why not? It would be interesting to learn," she said before approaching him and waiting to hear his instructions.

"Speech"

For a moment it looked like she was going to refuse his offer. Her verdant gaze wavered, confusion written across her face. Valentine was on the verge of laying on the charm when she smiled and stepped closer. Good, he could use the help because every second he was away from the sketchy trader the less he remembered of the instructions he had been given. But he thought if he could dig a deep enough pit, fill it with dry stuff and toss the fire in, he could make it work until he got something more permanent (and impressive) in place. In response to her agreement Valentine grinned and motioned her closer. It was a deal. She sounded a bit wary, but he thought he could bring her around if given enough time. "I'm thinking I need a hole that's about as deep as my forelegs are long and ahh," Valentine eyed the space he had in mind for the pit and then measured it with his foreleg. "Maybe as wide as my forelegs are long too." That was definitely overkill, but he was going to play it safe for awhile until he got to know it better lest he wake up on fire sometime in the near future. "The work's mainly digging, but I'll make it worth your while." ""
