dragon warriors

I'm interested in bringing some viking or dragon warrior-esque wolves to ardent, somewhat modeled after the how to train your dragon tv shows and movies. Pretty much, I was just watching the show, got the idea to make viking themed wolves, and then my mind did it's own thing creating this lovely bunch of characters to see if anyone is interested!
The general idea for them is that far away from ardent, there is an island solely inhabited by clans of various sizes, although most of the clans are smaller. However, one clan, the Draconian Clan, is by far the largest and most well known of the dragon warrior clans.
Unlike the name suggests, the dragon warriors don't fight dragons. In fact, they protect and revere them, serving them as if they were Gods. Of course, the dragons don't really exist, but don't tell them that. Many stories float around of others coming across dragons, however obviously they're just believing what they witnessed was the act of a dragon. In a way, the wolves fear the dragons, though similar to the way the people fear their god.. sort of.
The dragon warriors of course follow a viking naming theme, consisting of mostly norse names, however many of the clans follow their own naming theme including Scandinavian names, mythology names, traditional Viking names, as well as "comedic" names, like those need in the HTTYD series (hiccup, stormfly, etc). It mostly depends on what clan they're from, however note that the Draconian clan is one large family unit with a few scattered from other clans, so really, any name that sounds like it fits works with the clan.
Also, depending on the clan depends on the surname. For example, anyone born into the Draconian clan has 'Draconian' as their last name. Same goes for the other clans, however those that change clans keep their birth clan name.
why are they coming to ardent??
Although the island inhabits many different clans, including the Draconian Clan, it's not as large as one may think. Of course it's large enough to handle the amount of dragon warriors on the island, but what it couldn't handle was the raging fire that overtook the entire island, and even some of the inhabitants.
The warriors blamed their misfortune and bad luck on the island being set aflame. The dragons breathed fire onto their home, burning it to the ground and chasing the warriors away and onto the main land, however it took them many months of travelling to make it to Ardent. It's unlikely anyone knows that these wolves actually exist, but in fact may have heard 'fairy tales' about the clans at one point or another in their life. Once the fire began, all the clans came together despite differences amongst the crowd, and began to seek out a new place to call home, bringing them to now. About a year has passed since the dragons tore apart their home, so for a long year, the warriors have been searching and things are starting to get tense.
Unfortunately, most didn't make it off the island without injuries. Some didn't even make it, however those that did are left with various injuries, ranging from minor to major burns all the way up to missing limbs, blindness, etc. Those that did manage to make it out scratch free were unlikely to be on the island at the time of the fire, likely scouting or on some mission or another.
I'm mostly looking for interest right now! I'll be playing Astrid, the leader of the Draconian Clan and the leader of the entire group. Of course, others will not be ecstatic about her leading, especially due to the fact that the entire group is a mixture of clans. Many would like to see their own leader or even themselves leading the group, especially because Astrid fell into the position due to her father losing his life in the fire making sure everyone would get out. Of course, she didn't make it out without injuries either. Missing a good portion of her hind leg, she like many others, had to heal on the way and the healing resulted in a partially lost leg. The 'clan' is now a hodge podge of all of the clans combined and they're seeking a new home, to further their dragon warrior-ing. They'd be happy to preach their ideals onto others, however they aren't a super inclusive group and would only accept and outsider should they prove their loyalty to the dragons through some kind of challenge.
any interested?? because the large clan is a bunch of clans combined, I'm open to adopting out the leaders of the other clans, as well as some ranked members of the original Draconian clan. Astrid isn't unlike her father, so she'd be likely to keep many if not all of the same higher ranked where their at. Her mother will also be available for adoption, however she is the only survivor of her litter, as the others didn't make it through the initial fire or succumbed to injuries afterwards (though i'd be totally down for a sibling 'dying' but miraculously reappearing later when they though they died lol).
anyway, I want this to be a group effort, not just a strict family line. I'm open to just about anything, as long as the theme sticks. Generally, they should be true Neutral, willing to go back and forth on alignment depending on the situation, however by no means should they be overly aggressive (if you want a darker aligned character to go along with this, feel free to come up with your own ideas! keep in mind, however, if they were born in a clan and abandoned, left, etc and did not join another clan, they no longer have the last name of the clan).
I'm down for everything though, so if any of yall have any ideas, shoot them at me and I'd be happy to see if it can work with what I have so far!!

Oooh. :o I am actually interested in this!! I know you said that they don't necessarily accept outsiders, unless worthiness is proved. How difficult is it for an outsider to join? I could always create another character, I guess, but I would be interested in having my character, Khepri, join.

It would just entail proving their worth and loyalty to them, and that can be done in many ways, usually by showing their best skill. Also requires them to at least like the one trying to join, otherwise it'd take a lot more proving. They have to be willing to accept their beliefs and 'religion' as well as drop all their other beliefs and religion should there be any. Those that practice other beliefs and religions are seen as a threat when they're a part of the clan, but they don't care what anyone who's not part of the clan does. They're not gonna run around and preach it to everyone, but they expect those who join to follow their ways.

This sounds like a great idea! I just happened to build Hugin based on one of Odin's crows and this fits so well! I'm just bringing him to the island (all welcome thread of Hugin's arrival to come later today) but I'd be interested in throwing him in with the Draconians sometime if you'd have him.
