Ashmedai vs Dragon
As the match before concluded, the maimed loser was rushed from the ring and a trio of coydogs quickly scrubbed the blood from the circle and laid a new layer of sand over it for fresh footing. Nitro was looking over the spectators, getting them hyped up, but as the coydogs scurried back out of the ring he bounded over to the contestants and chose Dragon and Ashmedai. "Step up into the ring, gentlemen! Remember, if you step out of the circle you forfeit the match, and the loser is going home maimed so you do not want to lose! Let's get this started!" Grinning he gives a sharp nod to Ashmedai as he hops back nimbly to stay out of the way of possible flying bodies.
"How 'bout we avoid taking chunks out of each other's faces, hm? We're both far too pretty for that and I'm just here to have some fun so... how about your chest?" Ashmedai motioned an X on Dragon's chest, not taking into account that maybe Dragon couldn't see him.
Once he was sure Dragon didn't have anything more to add, Ash would throw on his defenses like an old coat. Tail and head leveled with his spine which stood tall with raised hackles. Nails bit into the fresh grit as his toes splayed to hold his balanced weight of lofty, bent legs. Ears back, eyes narrowed, shoulders rolled, lips lifted, chin tucked. Check check and check. It didn't take even a second of thought for it all to come together, although his snarling face was twisted into a chaotic, exuberant smile.
"Leggo!"
Ashmedai launched himself at Dragon, aiming to slam his left shoulder into Dragon's chest while his jaws snaked down to bite, grip, and tear Dragon's left shoulder. Simultaneously, Ashmedai would lift his left fore paw, re-balance his weight, and seek to slam and pin Dragon's left fore paw with his own.
If he could immobilize Dragon's leg, maybe he could get a good tear on Dragon's shoulder, but he'd have to see about that a bit later. He wasn't scared of getting torn up. Either way, he would leave a victor, or he'd leave with a cool scar. He never had to tell the truth about his scars anyway, so there was no losing situation.

Word had reached the once king about a grand tournament to welcome the start of the new year. He had prepared for the event, and together with Iskra, had fashioned something incredible before the start of the tournament. He wore it with pride, head held high and his tail waving like a banner over his back as he walked through the crowd, each companion on either side of him. Some of his family had come to spectate the events, and he knew Greed was one of the participants. He wished his longtime friend good luck before parting ways, and eventually, Dragon stopped to listen to the head honcho as he spoke about what was to come. When all was said and done, his companions stepped forward and guided him through the crowd to where Nitro and his opponent were. Though he couldn't see the boundary of the ring they were to fight in, his companions would make sure he didn't step out of bounds.
He wasn't yet sure who his opponent was, but he would soon enough. "He wears a spiked harness," Shiva purred with cautious amusement. Dragon's ears leaned forward at her words, making a mental note to be careful about that. It seemed Dragon hadn't been the only one to prepare for the event at hand. He turned his shielded face towards his opponent's voice, recognizing it in an instant. Ohohoho, he would be fighting against Ashmedai, eh? This would certainly be fun! He chuckled, "Fine by me, you'd have a hard time getting at mine, anyway. Alright pretty boy, let's rumble!" He would honor Ash's wishes and instead, he'd attempt to scar Ash's chest in return.
His defensive stance came easily enough. Legs spread hip and shoulder width apart, hackles bristled along his spine while his ears pinned. Tail flagged out behind him for balance and his toes spread over the sand while claws gripped it for traction. He lowered his shielded head over his throat, aligning with his spine and protecting his neck to make it harder for Ash to get at him there. He rolled his shoulders forward to protect the sides of his neck, using them to act as a shield. He didn't need to narrow his eyes anymore. He was blind, and the new armor he wore completely covered his eyes and face. Eyes were overrated anyway, who needed them anymore? Not him, that was for sure! He heard the soft footfalls of Shiva's steps as she broke away from him and Kimahri, the jaguaress beginning to circle the ring in a clockwise manner. Meanwhile, Kimahri stood at the ready near his left side.
"Leggo!" In unison, both Dragon and Kimahri ran forward to meet Ashmedai, the pair seeking to close the distance between them and their opponent. As Dragon neared the last couple of feet, he darted to his own right as he sought to slip towards Ash's left side. A growl erupted from him as his left shoulder jutted forward, the earthen warrior seeking to thrust it into the point of Ash's left shoulder and hopefully jar the appendage and bruise him. Simultaneously, his crown tilted in towards the left side of Ash's neck, teeth glinting in the sun as he tried to dig his fangs into the top left side of Ash's neck with his upper fangs aiming for the scruff and bottom fangs aiming to pierce his neck. He wanted to try to bite, grip, and hold his opponent in an effort to limit his movement.
While he was trying to do that, Kimahri ran head on at the larger wolf, leaping forward and slashing with his claws at Ash's chest to intercept their opponents attack. He would seek to cut an X into the man's chest, hopefully distracting him enough for Dragon and Shiva to do their work.

Ashmedai lowered himself enough that Dragon's bite and grip landed solely on his scruff, causing blood- but not pain- to flow freely.
As this happened, Kimahri would seek to slash at Ash's chest. With his head already lowered, Ashmedai flared open his mouth, seeking to catch and crush the cat's paw in his mouth and not get his face flayed in the process.

He hadn't realized where exactly Ashmedai's spiky harness was. He didn't know it protected his shoulder, so as Dragon neared his target, he felt teeth land somewhere on his opponent (he couldn't tell where exactly since he can't see) and just as he was about to unknowingly impale himself, Shiva dove in and swiped his paws out from under him, effectively tripping the earthen male.
A surprised grunt escaped wordlessly past his jaws as he tried to recover his footing. Luckily, the side of his own spiked armor glanced off of Ash's flashy getup, though he didn't completely escape from harm. The spikes on Ash's harness grazed the outside of his (Dragon's) shoulder, leaving shallow scratches behind.
Dragon wasn't totally fast enough to recover his footing, but considering the proximity between him and his opponent, he let himself fall forward and decided to use his momentum to his advantage. He turned and tucked his body slightly to his left (in towards Ash) with his left shoulder jutting out again, seeking to jab at Ash's ribs on his way down.
At the same time, he sought to let his body fall against Ash's hind legs, a last ditch effort to trip the male up and make him fall and tumble just like he was. Simultaneously, jaws snapped open as his head snaked towards Ash's underbelly, teeth fixing to bite the other male's stomach dead center. In the short time Dragon was falling down, down, down, Shiva shot up and over Dragon (Ash's left side) as she sought to land square on his back, foreclaws aiming to dig and cling onto the wolf's back.
Meanwhile, Kimahri was just kinda shit outta luck as one of his paws got caught in Ash's mouth, though luckily his reaction time was just quick enough to give Ash an open handed slap with his other paw (claws sheathing to avoid scarring his pretty face since he asked nicely), though he hadn't escaped completely unscathed. Ash had managed to pierce his paw pad, leaving moderate punctures.

He wasn't sure how it happened, but he stood victorious! Dragon stood tall and proud, releasing a howl of triumph for his victory! Shiva joined him, and Kimahri joined them as well as the two joined their voices with Dragon's. His chest was still heaving from the effort of the fight, the adrenaline still pumping. He hadn't fought like that in a long time. Since the challenge for Talis, actually. This certainly gave him more confidence. The earthen male was proud of himself for doing this. His confidence had been lacking for some time now, unsure of his abilities and constantly doubting himself. But now? He would be walking with his head held high like he had before he was blinded and before he lost Talis. Then again...it was also possible his companions had done more than he did, but still. A win was a win. He turned his attention towards wherever Ashmedai was, a friendly grin on his face. "Good fight, Ash. You certainly put up a good one."
The masked warrior offered a final nod before turning to make his way out of the ring. He wondered if Iskra and the others had been watching. Or maybe they were in fights of their own. Whatever the case, he took off to maybe find a snack and some water after all that excitement, and to wait for the next round to start.

The fight and maim were over before he knew it. Dragon told him he put up a good fight and Ashmedai offered a sharp laugh- ow ok that hurt, maybe he shouldn't laugh.
"You did alright for an old blind guy," Ashmedai sassed, a friendly smile on his face even though he grit his teeth in pain. "If your cats ever decide to breed, let me know."
He nodded to the trio and hauled himself out of the ring. Who knew, maybe he could find a pretty little lady to help patch him up.
