Aria woke up that morning still a bit out of it from the herbs the “healer” had given her the night prior. She felt dizzy, and going right back to sleep was very tempting. Her head was pounding too… vision a bit blurry as she forced herself to rise to her paws. He didn’t seem to be anywhere within sight… thank goodness.

She had split with her half brother’s sibling the season prior as the slaver made his way back to capture her. But she had not only gotten lost but had even managed to twist an ankle in the process. Thus she met this quack who claimed he was ‘helping’ her when in reality he was giving her drugs to keep her docile and test shit on her.

No longer…

This was the best Aria had felt in some time after waking up under the effects of his herbs and now seemed like as good a time as any to make an escape. So she set off in a random direction, praying her path didn’t cross with the man again while she was feeling like this.

---A Couple Days Later---

Aria breathed more easily now, stopping only when absolutely needed. She skirted around pack territories too, in too much distress to realize she had wandered right past Chaos’ pack… and the one where her sister had been held as a slave once more.

Aria kept going, no idea where she was. She was wary of most of those she met too… she didn’t want to hint at where she was going. She just had to wander this land in hopes of discovering her brother’s or mother’s scents so she could find them again.

After a much needed hunt in yet another unfamiliar land Aria settled down with her hare and began to eat. She was malnourished thanks to her time with the quack and the slavers… but Aria refused to let that break her. She wouldn’t die because of this… not after working so hard to get her freedom!

Golden eyes scanned the night covered territory around the tree she lay under, wariness written on her features. If worse came to worse she could stand and fight… make a last stand… But she be damned if she became a slave again.

Riva crossed the stream just above pack lands, eyes scanning the land as she walked. The land was blooming with spring, and the scents of growing things filled the air. She had never liked the cold, and she enjoyed the feel of the sun on her dark coat. She stopped occasionally, nosing through the undergrowth. Sometimes she pull her head free with seeds or herbs to add to her collection, sometimes she would emerge with nothing to show for it.

It never ruined her good mood, and her tail gave a light wag behind her as she walked. Her herb garden was beginning to come together, and she didnt think anything could ruin her cheery disposition. By the time she arrived in redbud nock, the day was over. She had spent too much time foraging on her way, and had easily lost track of time.

She was just considering what to do with the night, continue on regardless, find somewhere to settle in, or head back in the dark, when the scent of a stranger caught her attention. Curiosity brought her head in the womans direction, but a healers dismay kept it there. The older, and thin stranger was perhaps a few inches taller then Riva, with weariness written in her eyes. She could also see signs of wear and tear on her hints of cuts that hadnt been properly cared for. The way she was lying didnt allow Riva to see anything more, but it was enough. The healer would never allow a wolf in distress to slip away without aid. "Miss?" She asked, keeping her voice soft and gentle. Her slim, tiny frame was hardly intimidating, but she kept herself low regardless, and walked in plain view. She didnt come too close, not wanting to distress this stranger.

Aria’s ears twitched at the sound of a stranger’s voice and the young woman instantly shot to her paws. A mistake. The leg that hadn’t quite properly healed, still in a bad state, wrenched and she felt pain shoot within it. She gritted her teeth, catching the yelp that wanted to escape with the action. She had been startled by the other’s presence in general though as golden eyes fell on the smaller woman she allowed her fur to lay flat once more. Slowly ears that had been flicked back lifted from her head and she watched the other for a moment as she breathed in and out, uncertainty shining in her gaze.

The other woman wasn’t just a bit smaller… but she was younger too it seemed. Aria frowned deeply and furrowed her brow, realizing that she had been staring the other down for quite a while without so much as a “hi”.

“Sorry… Guess I’m more jumpy than I realized.” That much the other woman could see for herself. The other appeared to be even less of a threat than she was! That was probably a good thing though. It made Aria feel safer around her.

“Can I help you with something?” Hopefully this stranger didn't want to talk long. She was exhausted and was sure sleep was definitely needed.

The wolf shot to her feet in response to Riva’s greeting, and she could see the way she swayed on unsteady footing. The pain in this girls eyes. Yes, something was definitely terribly wrong here. Riva stayed completely still, keeping her expression somewhat neutral as she tried to convey the message that she was not a threat. Eventually, the stranger seemed to come back to herself. Her ears rose, her fur settled, and some of the fright left her startling gold eyes.

“It’s alright, I’m Riva by the way” she introduced herself with an inviting smile, hoping the other might also venture forth a name. Yeah, jumpy was an understatement, but Riva wasn’t about to mention it. She wouldn’t push the woman, she could see something terrible had happened.

“Actually, I’m a healer, I always give my services free of charge, if you want me to take a look at you?” she offered, her voice still gentle, soft, nonthreatning.
