Faust vs Eldi
As the match before concluded, the maimed loser was rushed from the ring and a trio of coydogs quickly scrubbed the blood from the circle and laid a new layer of sand over it for fresh footing. Nitro perused the remaining contestants, then picked out Faust and Eldi. "All right, ladies and gentlemen," he called out to the spectators. "Who's excited for the next match in the HARDCORE division??" He waited while the roar of the crowd swelled and faded while he led the pair up to the ring, then gestured for quiet. "You know the rules by now - stay in the ring and remember that the winner gets to leave the loser with scars to remember them by! Why don't you go ahead and get us started?" he added to Faust.
Golden gems drank in the crowd, the inspection lasting no more than a moment before the haunting watch came to rest upon his opponnent, a wolf he had not seen before in his life. Quite abruptly the utterance was done and it would seem that he was meant to begin the duel; sooty curtains drawn back to reveal the pearly armory. His adversary was of similar build, few inches taller than he was, sculpted for strenght over speed. Even if they were similar, he knew better than to assume any direct assault would garner him an swig of flesh and blood. So instead he lurched forth with intentions to drive, to persuade the mass of the other to adjust in accordance to his own. He would attempt to eliminate the distance between them, effectively consolidate the stage on which the male had to dance. With a single gluttonous stride the lands between them dwindled and as his forelimbs struck the ground he centered his balance, angling joints and lowering his titanic frame. Driving with his hind limbs he pressed on, chin angled slightly down and away with jaws agape to both defend against any counter launched and to hopefully snatch up any portion of his opponent which didn’t manage to sneak out of the way in time. Still his pinnae embraced his skull, his lids now drawn thin to protect his sights as he came forward. As his momentum heaved him forward he drew up his forelimbs ever so slightly, keeping the one which was nearest to his opponents face drawn slightly higher. Shoulders slid forwards to effectively bunch his thick scruff about his neck and chest as his banner adjusted to aid in balance. The caudal portion of Eldi’s shoulder is where his fangs were directed in an attempt to grasp the soft tissues. Keeping his aim general he offered himself the best chances of catching a nibble of something and though his aim was set to the midsection of the adversary his stare was directed towards his features, eager to read glimpse of a counterattack or evasion. |
Éldi trotted toward his next match, his companion soaring above him. He was flush with the victory of his first match and he only hoped to continue. Seizing another victory would gain him more respect from his peers, perhaps even Aesir. He wouldn't mind taking the older male down a peg or two. Askr took to the sky as Éldi squared off against his opponent. He quickly set his defenses, his hackles raised and his ears pinned to his head. He moved fluidly for his size, his limbs coiling as he rolled his shoulders forward, chin tucking slightly.
In seconds the battle would begin as his opponent charged toward him. Faust dove for his right shoulder just as Éldi quickly shifted to his left, managing to avoid the bulk of his opponents attack. However, speed was not his strong suit and he didn't get away fast enough to avoid those fangs ripping lacerations across his right shoulder, just above the deltoid. Éldi was swift in retaliating. His upper body arced in towards his right as his jaws flung wide. He sought to tear the middle of Faust's right shoulder, jaws angled to snap across the flesh where the trapezius muscle would connect to the right limb. He wanted to shred flesh and go for as much damage as he could. Askr opted to join the battle, the raven took aim and dove, his talons spreading as he quested for Faust's eyes, seeking to pierce them or tear the flesh of the man's face.
