Jupiter sulked through the territory with a scowl on his face and a near constant stream of curses falling from his lips. Every time he was forced to limp because of the throbbing bite wound on his butt his voice briefly rose in anger. That hateful little gremlin better not have given him a disease. He was going to be pissed if he got sick. Since his presence wasn't required while Valentine interrogated the bitch, his grandfather had told him to seek out Rhythm and ask her for help. While he'd never met Valentine's mate Jupiter had jumped on the chance to flee the scene. He would die happy if he never say that pointy-eared beastie again. If he hadn't been in such a hurry he might have asked Valentine where he could find Rhythm, but he'd been much too preoccupied by the pain in his backside and his hatred for Echo to think clearly. Perhaps it would be best if he just called for her. Sure, she didn't know who he was, but he could explain that fast enough. Assuming she answered the call of a stranger. Only one way to find out. Jupiter tipped back his head and howled (somehow managing to do it politely despite his mood) for Rhythm. "Jupiter"   "Amadeus" ”You”

She loped slowly over the border, going out and getting some exercise. It wouldn’t do for her to get fat now that she was no longer a prisoner. She had to think of the new grandbabies on the way too. She’d have to stay in shape to try and keep up with them. She started thinking about the grandchildren Valentine had offered to her. She thought she’d met one, Orion, but he’d gotten away from her before she could help him find his grandfather. Of course there were many more than that and she would like to meet them eventually. It seemed the universe read her mind as she was suddenly summoned by one. She tilted her head curiously and headed in his direction. It wasn’t even Valentine asking her presence for him either. She felt her lips pull up in amusement as she veered in his direction. She wasn’t quite as confident in this territory, but she’d learned a new trick. She’d click softly and listen for the returning sound. It helped a little, and she was getting better at the technique. Good enough she hadn’t stubbed her two once before finally appearing before the boy. "Hello there." She’d start, head tilted questioningly. ""

As the little old lady came into view Jupiter smoothed his scowl into something a little more presentable. Then, about two whole seconds later when he remembered that she was blind and couldn't take his PO'd face the wrong way, he started scowling again because why not. Her voice was...not quite what he expected, honestly. Softer. Nicer, really, than what he thought Valentine's mate would sound like. That was a good thing, honestly. He'd been kind of expecting a hag who would smack him over the head for being dumb and then somehow manage to make wound tending violent and slightly scary. So far...this was promising. "Hello," he greeted her politely. "My name's Jupiter, I'm Valentine's grandson and um..." Okay, this as where it got awkward. Jupiter waffled for a second before clearing his throat. "You see...Valen and I had some business to take care of and I got bitten...and uh...well...he said you might be able to help me." Perhaps he should have told her more about the wound, but he honestly he just didn't want to. No, he thought it would be better (for him) to wait until she was committed before he told her that she'd be working on his rump. "Jupiter"   "Amadeus" ”You”

With her ears perked towards him Rhythm felt herself pleased at how polite he sounded. Much like the first grandson she’d met with. She hoped Valentine had meant it when he called them good kids, so far she couldn’t refute him. He was a little hesitant as he began, first naming himself ‘Jupiter’ and mentioned he was Valen’s grandson. She had figured the latter part out, he also sounded a lot like his grandsire. The angle of the tilt of her head increased as he hesitated in his reason for even asking her here. Rhythm withheld a smile as he did eventually spit it out. She knew he wasn’t telling her the complete truth. He was in need of a healer, he’d gotten bitten. That was curious, what business were they taking care of that got the boy bitten. He seemed… embarrassed about it? Or was he trying to be sensitive for her sake? "Well, what were you bitten by?" She asked, just because it was unlikely he was bitten by a snake in the weather didn’t mean it was impossible. Confidently she stepped closer to him, sniffing around him lightly. Similarly if it was something with a dirty mouth she wanted to take extra precaution in treating potential infection. ""

Valentine's mate seemed like a really nice, really proper, cute little old lady. While she may not have been his sweet little grammy, she was someone's grammy and that just made this all the more awkward. This cute little grandma lady was going to (hopefully) check out a wound on his butt. Jupiter cleared his throat again. "It's a wolf bite. I..." Sat on a gremlin and got bit? Farted on a crop-eared ho and was punished with a bite to his keester? How could he explain this without sounding like an immature idiot? "Got into a fight." His ears fell back. "It's uh..on my...on the back of my..." Frik. "It's on my...thigh." Well, in that general area. Just...on the back of it. And kind of high up. "Jupiter"   "Amadeus" ”You”

Rhythm perked slightly, her ears swiveling towards him as the boy cleared his throat and started again. He clarified that he had indeed been bitten by another wolf, which was obviously not the reason for his hesitation. The old healer twisted her features back towards the sound of his voice.

He managed to continue, telling her unbidden where the wound happened. With all his nervousness and hesitation she wasn't about to believe his half truths. He was a young man, and she wasn't as clueless as she looked. "How'd she get your ass?" she asked bluntly knowing by the scent that lingered that the perpetrator was female. She didn't have to put too many clues together to know she chomped his rump.

For a moment Jupiter was taken aback by Rhythm’s choice of words. She just looked so sweet and grandmotherly he’d been sure that foul language would make her ears burst into flame. Then he remembered who her mate was and decided that he had probably had her all wrong.

Once he got over his surprise he still had to deal with her question. His ears drooped a bit and huffed silently to himself. There was no point in lying because knowing his grandfather Jupiter was going to get teased about the event at some point.

Perhaps he could play it up. Pretend he thought it was funny even though he definitely didn’t. After all, the old lady was blind. She couldn’t see his face so all he had to fake was his voice. Wryly, he answered, "I sat on her and she took offense."

She smiled to herself as Jupiter was stunned long enough for her to notice. She might not have been able to see it on his face, but his long pause amused her. She nosed against his hip, a little roughly but he was a big boy and likely barely noticed. Rhythm knew she was going to want to wash the puncture marks out as best she could. Didn't want it getting infected, who knew where her mouth had been.

Valentine’s grandson did eventually answer the question, he had sat upon her. She chuckled internally, not blaming the she wolf in the least.

”Well, that’ll teach you not to sit on people, eh?” She told him as she poked at the wound with her paw, hoping for a reaction to see if he’d bruised badly or not. ”We’ll have to go to my den in the knolls to put the proper herbs on this. Think you can make it that far?”

Rhythm pushing on his bite annoyed him all over again and he huffed softly. He wasn't mad at her, no. Just that bitey little weasel for getting him into this mess in the first place. The blame, in his opinion, could be pinned on her and her alone. If she hadn't been so difficult and such a pain in his ass he wouldn't have had to sit on her. It wasn't his fault and he couldn't be convinced otherwise. ”Well, that’ll teach you not to sit on people, eh?” Jupiter was quick to agree with that statement. "It definitely did," he muttered. No, next time he had a problem with Echo he was going to do more than sit on her. She would pay for this insult. In response to her second question he shrugged...then remembered again that she was blind. Sooner or later that was going to sink in, right? "I made it this far, I'll be alright.
