An old coydog who had once been ginger with darker brindling but now has more gray on his muzzle than ginger and only a few dull yellow teeth left totters up to the remaining fighters and surveys them while sucking on his teeth. "You and you," he says to Dragon and Melanthios in a faint, querulous voice. "Rest of you wait yer turn. Come on then, I haven't got all day." He leads them to a circle of stones set into a ring in the ground. "Iffen you get a paw out of bounds you forfeit," he told them. "Once you're done wearing yerselves out I'll decide who wins. You go first," he says to Dragon. "Now git going!"

Things were going well so far. He had a couple wins under his belt, much to his surprise. He hadn't expected to win, especially his last fight where the stakes were higher. Still, he had come out of the fight with Justice a victor, and he felt his cousin would probably hate him even more for it, he had won fair and square in this tournament so far. Now it was time to try for another win as he heard the voice of an older coydog, and at the direction of his companions, followed to the next stone circle where he would fight in the next round. Ears perked atop his shielded head as Shiva mentioned the collar that his opponent wore. Fair enough, they'd have to avoid their throat. Raising his shielded head, Dragon stepped into the circle and shook his muscles loose while his companions settled on either side of him once again. They were ready for the next fight as much as he was, and when the coydog gave the signal that he'd start first, he turned his head in the direction of his opponent. "Dragon Ancora, good luck." He allowed a moment for his opponent to choose whether or not they wanted to introduce themself before kicking into action. Together with Shiva, the pair barrelled head on at Melanthios with the intention of feigning to his left and then to his right. He aimed to slam the point of his shoulder into Melanthios' left shoulder before twisting his head inward towards them and aiming a hard bite on the fleshy part right behind that same shoulder. Meanwhile, Shiva dove for the opposite side of their opponent, claws extended as she aimed to slash the right side of their chest . They had lost their maim though so far they had been doing well in the senior division. Melanthios wasn’t sure whom their next opponent would be, nor what odd coydog would be the one to be the judge of the match. They didn’t have long to wait for answers either.

The red beast entered the ring and faced off against their opponent, curious of the armor he wore since it covered his eyes. They took note of the companions at his side too… interesting. Perhaps they’d have to look into getting armor as well, or at least some type of weapon, for battle. Though their collar was something that beast had often considered a worthy accessory… it protected their throat if nothing else.

“Melanthios Kedieo. To you as well.”

Then they set their defenses and prepared for the battle to ensue. The male was smaller than they were but that did not mean a guaranteed victory.

Their opponents barreled towards them, head on it seemed, but Melanthios knew better than to trust that. They waited, trusting instinct and reaction to reduce damage and hopefully give some of their own. Melanthios let out a guttural growl as Dragon fainted left and then right. They had followed his initial movement to his left with a right sidestep with the desire of letting the smaller creature smash into their body.

The result was Dragon pulling up alongside them as the edge of his shoulder scrapped along the blade of their own. Mild bruising was going to be the result of that, maybe a touch sore later, but nothing Mela couldn’t handle. Melanthios shifted, throwing their weight into their hind legs as they attempted to rear skywards. They weren’t concerned with the chance Dragon and his companions might be able to topple them as they attempted to throw the upper half of their body to their left over Dragon’s left side. The brown male’s teeth snapped at their fur, missing flesh by a mere second.

Melanthios sought to bring Dragon’s back end down with their weight, hopefully bringing him off balance while avoiding his armored front and top. They were aware of one of the companion’s claws slashing their belly behind their foreleg, drawing blood, but their opponent was the wolf… and that was what they would focus on.

At the same time, just to add a little more oomph to their attack Melanthios attempt to send their jaws downward, towards the base of Dragon’s tail, and give it a sharp bite. While they were not seeking a hold it would be enough to cause a bit of damage were they successful in their endeavor with upper jaw on the outside {right side of Dragon} and lower jaw on the inside {left side of Dragon} of their opponent’s tail.

His bite and attempted shove missed, but the earthen male would press on. Unable to see, however, he wasn't totally sure of his opponents position until he felt their forelegs starting to come over his hind end. His tail tucked as soon as he felt Mela's breath on his fur, eyes narrowing beneath the mask he wore. Baring his teeth, Dragon quickly folded his legs beneath him to allow his body closer to the ground before springing up as fast and as hard as he could. With any luck, he would slam her mouth shut and make her bite her tongue or something. The smell of blood also indicated that one of his companions had landed a hit. Twisting the upper half of his body towards Mela then, he aimed to grip the hind leg closest to him in his teeth and yank it from under them. Kimahri came then, the jaguar diving beneath Mela and aiming to rear up and grab their throat in his mouth while seeking to wrap his claws on either side of their neck to strain them and pull them to the ground.
