Life was good - remarkably good, as a matter of fact. It was sometimes hard to come to terms with just how good things were as of late. Life had been such a struggle for so long, even when he'd returned to his family, and now.. now this. He could only think that he was being rewarded for his devotion to the gods his family worshiped, for turning himself around as best as he could, though sometimes he wondered if he might suddenly awake from this beautiful daydream. But nothing like that seemed like it was about to happen, and as time went on he found himself feeling slightly less incredulous about it all. This was his life, and though sometimes he doubted he'd truly earned it all, he was thankful and didn't want to take any of it for granted.

His sleeping children were no exception. They were growing rapidly - perhaps too fast for his own tastes - and as he roused from sleep he watched them where they lay, sound asleep and snoring softly in a pile among one another. Adjusting himself as quietly as possible, he sought to find Zinnia's gaze, noticing she too had stirred. Outside it was still dark, a long stream of moonlight filtering in through the entrance to their den, and shadows danced against the ground. He quirked a brow, hoping to catch her attention as he jerked his muzzle to the den's entrance, wondering if she'd join him for a quick moonlight walk while their pups slept peacefully.
