This place was a gem in Bellamy’s eyes; a rocky wonderland. The heart-jerking drops and intriguing cave systems were enough to satiate her curiosity for hours and keep sweet adrenaline pumping through her soul.

Bellamy took in a deep breath, allowing the grandeur of the scenery to fill her mind with a sense of wonder and contentment. She hadn’t made it particularly far up the mountain, but Bellamy was on top of the world, as far she was concerned. Belle could not quite wrangle a smile off her face as she surveyed the rocky path that she’d come up; this was exactly the sort of exploration that would make her parents have a minor heart attack. The thought gave her a twang of bittersweet guilt and regret in the pit of her stomach, as her mind couldn’t help but wander back to the warmth of her old lifestyle, and her family. It may have been a stuffy and frustrating existence, but the life of a loner had a sense of coldness that she had yet to get used to. A shiver ran down the young female’s spine. The gusts were cold and unrelenting even this high up, running thickly through her dusty-brown fur.

She decided that she’d had enough of this, for today at least; besides, the grumbling of her stomach was reminding her of priorities other than fulfilling her mountain-goat desires. Bellamy began to pelt down the winding and broken-up path towards the base of the jagged mountainside, paws clattering on the rocky ground. She felt herself building momentum until she was leaping from rock to rock, nails scrabbling chaotically and heart thudding with exhilaration.

She leapt onto a particularly peaky rock, immediately recognising it as a bad move when she was unable to quite get her footing. On her left there she registered a deathly drop; she was still reasonably far up the mountainside. Stopping her momentum, Belle jerked her small form backwards in an almost instinctual attempt to jump back onto the rock she’d initially launched off. The young female simply didn’t have enough power to jump back to safety. She scrambled for a moment of sick suspension, tantalisingly close to stability, then felt her body plummet. A panicked yelp ripped out of her throat. Before she could think, she was staring hazily up at the sky, thorns digging cruelly into her right side. Her fall had been 'broken' by a bush of brambles nestled between the two boulders, a meter and a half or so down.

Bellamy blinked a few times, a pathetic whine escaping her lips as she tried to make sense of her spinning world. Tiny needles stabbed into her coat, left side down. She squirmed a little and winced, finding herself entangled in the cruel talons of the bush. On the bright side, she could still feel all of her limbs. "Idiot..." She muttered under her breath, squeezing her eyes shut and trying to slow down her racing heart. She could already smell the sharp tang of blood tinging the air. Wincing, she craned her neck to scope out her options; the boulders on either side were a little taller than a meter in comparison to her current position, but angled in such a way that would make it difficult for her to climb out herself. Belle squinted ahead; there were cruel-looking bushes surrounding her, but her eyes settled on a potential scramble around the mountain-side boulder. She wriggled a little bit to see how far she could get out, and swallowed down a cry as her side lit up with fiery bursts of pain. Sooner or later, she'd have to rip the off the band-aid, and it was probably going to take off some skin with it.

[OOC: Not my best work, apologies for the shitty post. I realize now that I've never roleplayed in a mountain terrain before, and I am *very* out of my element haha.]

Cannival

Cannival found herself wandering amongst the jagged mountains of Boreas, finding the journey much less difficult then she had been warned. In her maw she carried a large leaf wrapped around a pile of bright blue flowers, harvested from the ashy terrain of Mount Volkan. She was told it was called Wolfsbane and that it had pain-relieving properties. It was hard to find, but after a few hours wandering the volcano she had stumbled upon the small plant cluster.

Slender paws found their grip quite easily amongst the rocky cliff face, claws digging in to find purchase amongst the cracks as she scaled the mountain side. She wasn't sure where exactly plants would grow in this kind of area, but Cannival figured as long as she kept going that she'd find an area flat enough that plants could grow.

As she came around a particularly rocky cliff, a pained yelp rang out from below. Cannival froze and craned her neck around, desperate to pin-point the source of the sound. She wanted to call out, but couldn't without dropping the herb bundle in her mouth. Swiftly she spun around, bracing herself firmly as she angled herself down towards the base of the mountain and began a careful but rushed climb back down. The yelp had come from lower on the mountain, that Cannival was sure, but it was hard to determine from where exactly it originated. She kept her eyes scanning each nook and cranny and found nothing to help lead her to the creature. The feline was about to give up hope, when to her nose wafted the fresh metallic scent of blood.

I'm coming. She thought uselessly, scrambling towards the source. A faint rustling of bush could be heard, now, and as she rounded a particularly steep cliff she nearly walked blindly into the tangled bramble.  She skittered to a stop, paws spreading wildly to grasp the rocks and hold her balance lest she herself find herself entwined. Carefully, Cannival dropped the bundle of herbs and began to circle the death trap, finding the tangled wolf not a few feet inwards.

"Don't worry! I'll get you out of there." The lioness told the wolf, unable to keep the uncertainty from wavering her voice. A series of boulders reached up above and Cannival hurried up towards them, careful to keep her distance from the brambles. Upon reaching their peak, she laid down and reached out a paw towards the other. Shit. She thought as the realization struck her. Wolves aren't nearly that flexible. This won't do. Her panic built as she stood back up.

"This is going to hurt, and I am very... very sorry." Carefully, the lioness leaned down as far as she could from the boulder towards the other wolf, sinking her claws as deeply as she could into the rock as she could to keep herself from falling. Gently, she grasped the only thing that she could reach of the wolf- the scruff on the back of it's neck -and once she was sure that she had a solid hold, she tugged with all her might, attempting to drag the injured wolf out of the bramble's grasp and onto the boulder with her.

[pshh nah you're all good! :P]

Still sprawled within the clutches of her thorny prison, Bellamy’s nose twitched tentatively as a new, unidentified scent came in. A surge of cold fear rushed over her; she couldn’t quite recognise what it was, but whatever it was, she knew it was no herbivore. She lifted her head, ears pricked up and body frozen in fear as she heard the scrambling of claws rapidly approaching.

The young wolf found herself looking into a pair of bright yellow eyes, terrifying when contrasted by the sleek dark coat and intimidating size of the creature that owned them. Alright, what the hell is that? Bellamy thought; as if the situation could’ve gotten any worse. Belle tried to push herself up again but cried out as her paws sunk through another layer of thorns; the bush was as good as quicksand. Maybe her family had been right, she thought ruefully; the period of time she’d lasted on her own was embarrassingly short.

A voice rang out with promise of salvation, tinged with uncertainty but decidedly void of menace. Looking up, it took a moment for Bellamy to realise that the voice had emanated from the beast overhead, to her utter surprise and disbelief. “Am I hallucinating?” Belle muttered stupidly; she didn’t feel like she was, but how would she know? Maybe the fall had been worse than she had imagined. She barely registered the lioness’s offered paw and apologetic warning, but suddenly felt teeth dig into the scruff of her neck. She let out a terrified yelp, despite herself. “No, no, no…” She murmured, bracing herself for the pain that was to follow.

This was it. This was the end of Bellamy Shields.

The lioness pulled her up in a fluid but sudden movement. Thorns which had dug tenaciously into the female’s side raked into her like rusty nails. Some gave way and snapped in the abrupt movement, staying embedded in her skin, but others left gashes in the side of her dusty-tan coat. Her side felt white-hot, the pain throbbing through her soul and crashing with waves of nausea. Having been dragged onto the flat surface of the rock, she allowed herself to lay there, shock and delirium clouding her mind. Blood bloomed over her soft fur, dripping onto the rock’s surface. The initial flash of bandaid-ripping pain had already started to fade, giving way to a sour sting encompassing her legs and body, the worst of it concentrated on her right side.

‘N-not to be dramatic, but if you’re going to eat me, please get that over with quickly.” Bellamy stammered hazily, looking at the lioness warily. Really, the creature hadn’t said anything to suggest harmful intentions, but that hadn’t stopped Bellamy from assuming the worst.

[OOC: I'm going to link this to Sea now and see if she can bring in a real healer so that Cannival doesn't try to use the wolfsbane she'd gathered on Bella. :P]

Cannival

The lioness winced as the wolf let out a fear-laden cry and began to beg. She squeezed her eyes shut, hating herself for having caused the other so much pain and terror. Once the she-wolf had been brought beside her, the poor thing looked up at her and pleaded for Cannival to kill her quickly. She tilted her head and sighed softly, leaning down to the wolf's shoulder to run her tongue along one of the wounds. The brambles that latched against the wolf's skin could hardly find purchase in the lioness's rough tongue, and after enough coaxing they began to be displaced. She spat out a thorn, and regarded the other warmly.

"I'm not going to eat you." Cannival said kindly before arching powerful neck to clean further down the canine's side. Besides," She said after a moment. "Wolves don't taste very good." She hoped the she-wolf could see that she was only jesting, and smacked her together for a moment to work up the saliva to rid her maw of the taste of blood.

The lioness continued to work her tongue along the bristles, being as gentle as she could as to not irritate the raw skin underneath. She knew her barbed tongue must not feel pleasant, but she couldn't leave the injured female like this. How would a wolf even begin to remove these thorns? Cannival didn't know.

After a while, she spoke again.

"I brought something. I'll be right back." The lioness stood, and then gave pause. She fixed the she-wolf with an empathetic gaze as she hesitated, and then scaled back down and around the boulders to the base of the brambles where she had dropped her herbs. Carefully, she grasped the bundle once more before climbing back to where the bloodied wolf lay.

"I'm not skilled in healing." Cannival admitted softly, looking down at the plant. "If I need to, I'll try. But... first I'm going to call for help." The lioness doubted the wolf could walk- or even stand -otherwise she'd take her to Abaven for healing. Their pack lands weren't too far, however. Cannival could only hope that someone was close by that would hear her call.

The lioness stepped away from the wolf, looking out down the mountain and towards the east where she'd met Rhyme and Shaye. The alphas were truly good wolves, and she desperately hoped that there were others like them. Cannival didn't know what she'd do if the one who answered was a wolf looking to fight a lion, but she knew she'd have to do whatever she could to defend this innocent female.

Long, black claws hooked securely into the boulder's stony face as Cannival drew in air to fill her lungs. Her neck arched, her back straightened and muscles tensed, tail lashing furiously. Then suddenly, her head wrenched forward and jaws parted, the fur upon her back bristling as a massive roar was issued from blackened lips. The sound vibrated the stone beneath her paws, and as it's echo reverberated against the mountain pass it shook the air vehemently. A roar of summoning, there could be no doubt.

[sounds good hehe]

Belle let her head rest back onto the ground, cool rock grazing her cheek and eyes fluttering shut. She flinched as the lioness’s tongue began running over her wounds methodically, a warm and sand-papery sensation that also happened to sting like hell on her broken skin. Bellamy jammed her eyes shut, gritting her teeth together. “I’m not going to eat you.” Yeah, like this isn’t the entrée, Bellamy echoed in her head. “Wolves don’t taste very good.” The she-wolf winced, wounds stinging painfully as the barbed tongue ran over them, catching and shifting the still-embedded thorns out.

“Uh-huh.” Bellamy responded sceptically under her breath; was that a hint of sarcasm she detected in her saviour? The she-wolf couldn’t tell. Honestly, there was no point in not trusting the lioness; what else was Bellamy supposed to do, roll off the cliff out of spite? She could hardly caper off to safety, especially not in this kind of terrain.

Bellamy lifted her head up weakly to watch as the lioness got up to grab something, dropping some strange-smelling flowers next to her that made her feel sick in her already nauseous state. That had better not be garnish Bellamy thought despite her previous conviction, eyeing the plants suspiciously.

“I’m not skilled in healing.” Belle gave a drowsy nod in response before getting the overwhelming urge to rest her head again; her head throbbed in pulsating waves. Whatever this creature could do to help her, Bellamy would let her do it. This entire situation was slightly baffling to the she-wolf; not only had this mysterious being not decided to kill her immediately, she was going to help her?

Bellamy couldn’t help but jerk her head up again as the lioness let out a piercing and powerful roar, green eyes snapping open in surprise. “Woah…” She muttered under her breath, unable to help but feel a mixture of unsettlement and awe. Again, Belle couldn’t quite brush off the feeling that the being was simply calling her friends to meal. Whatever, the young wolf thought, laying her cheek down and closing her eyes sleepily, jaw clutched tightly shut in attempts to drown out the burning pain running in flames along her skin. If it really came to that, she would roll straight off the damn rock and into oblivion, Bellamy resolved. That’d show ‘em.

The roar shocked and surprised her, causing her to jump and spin around in the direction of the cry. She should have ignored it, it was absolute commonsense for her to turn around and run the other way, tail between her legs. That was the roar of a lion after all. Tiny little Riva would be just a snack, a few crunches, and gone.

It was stupid to head in the direction of the cry, she should stop, right now. She shouldn’t be doing this, so why was she? As much as she shivered in her skin, the little healer didn’t stay her course as she made her way up the mountain. She just couldn’t do it, the call of summons had sounded too much like a call for help. It was hard-wired into her, apparently it even went across species.

She was very cautiously arriving at the scene, and would see the lioness standing not far from an injured wolf. It was worse than she had feared, she realised. At first all she could smell was blood, but after a few other wuffs she would get the poisonous wolfsbane in her nostrils as well.

What was going on here? was she trying to eat the wolf, or poison her? Because she couldn’t fathom wolfsbane being a pleasant… ‘garnish.’ the lioness picked up the herb and moved to feed it to the wolf, and the little healer realised she was out of time.
“s-s-s-stop!” Riva cried, jumping onto the boulder, all twenty five inches of her bristled, and her light blue eyes where on the lioness as she moved to put herself between Cannival and the wolf. She desperately wanted to turn and help the wolf. Riva had only needed a short glance to see the bleeding girl was going into shock. She couldn’t, because turning her back on the lion was likely to get them both killed. “If you want to k-k-kill her, you’ll have to go through m-m-e.” Healer was where her strengths lay. She couldn’t fight a pig, let alone a lioness.

Cannival

Cannival couldn't wait long once she had made her cry for help, she didn't know much about healing but she did know the she-wolf was not getting any better while they just waited. With a grimace of frustration, the lioness turned away from the cliff's edge and leapt back towards her patient.

"Someone's coming." She did her best to sound confident, to ease the injured female's worries. "Don't worry, someone will come." Cannival retrieved the pile of herbs from beside the wolf and nudged them down below her maw.

"Eat these, they'll help... I think." There really wasn't any way for Canni to know that she had just offered the she-wolf a feast of wolfsbane, a deadly poison. The flowers were bright and vibrant, and after all, the brightly colored ones made the best medicine, right?

Suddenly from behind them, a tiny bundle of black flew out and onto the boulder and Cannival skittered backwards haphazardly as the stranger stood before her patient, bristling in a way that may have been fearsome... if she wasn't half the lionesses size. She stood there dumbstruck, blinking at the new wolf.

"No, stupid." The lioness countered angrily. "I'm trying to save her and you're in the way! Look, you're stepping on my herbs!" Her voice rose with stress, and she waved her paw at the female's hindleg which had disturbed the pile. "She's supposed to eat that now?? With all the mud and muck and god knows what else was on your paws?" The lioness stamped her paw back onto the ground in her nervous tension.

A strong wind blew across the cliff, and the pile of herbs rustled slightly. Cannival watched them in horror as small portions began to roll down and off the boulder into the thicket below.

Some of the smaller cuts and nicks on Bellamy’s coat had already begun to clot, but the deeper incisions where thorns had clawed into her skin and been ripped out continued to bleed slowly but relentlessly. The worst came from a jagged line following down her right shoulder-blade, a trail of blood staining her fur and running down the rock. The pain seared along her skin like fire but Belle focused on trying to control her shallow breathing with eyes screwed shut, ears pinned back and jaw clenched. “Someone’s coming.” Belle’s eyes cracked open and she lifted her head up, hope crossing her strained features as her gaze shifted from the scenery to the lioness, to the pile of brilliant purple flowers that she was offered. “Thanks…”She mustered weakly, sniffing them tentatively. The herbs didn’t smell appetizing in the slightest, but since when was any medicine appetizing?

Suddenly, a flurry of movement appeared and a small black wolf with dazzling blue eyes jumped seemingly out of nowhere, as far as Belle could tell in her easily confused state. The stranger was clearly distressed, fur bristling and voice high and stuttering. Belle quickly rolled onto her stomach as the small wolf moved in between her and the lioness, Belle biting down on a sharp cry as she moved. Pain strained her features but she tried to ignore it; if something went down she didn’t want to be laying on her side, and she could at least see what was going on from her new position. Bellamy numbly processed the chain of events playing out in front of her, tightly pinned back ears and worried eyes betraying her concern as the small but feisty wolf came to her defense. A sick guilt overcame Belle when she thought of what may become of this wolf if the situation escalated, turning her already nauseous stomach even more.

Luckily, the lioness’s anger seemed to stem from frustration rather than plain aggression. Bellamy let out a shaky breath, shifting her focus back to regulating her breathing and calming herself down as the lioness started chastising the newcomer, cringing a little at their arguments over her condition. Feeling another wave of dizziness come on, Bellamy couldn’t help but roll back onto her left side and let her eyes drift shut, cheek feeling strangely at home on the cool rock.

Save her? Riva cried, gaining confidence as it looked less and less likely that this lioness would kill her. She had no idea what the creatures motives where, or what she was doing, but so long as the lioness used words and not actions, Riva was okay. “This is poison!  she kicked the rest of the herbs off the rock with a well placed paw is she turned back to the wolf. She really hoped the lioness didn’t eat her in retaliation, but she wouldn’t let the lion hurt the wolf in some misguided effort to help. Riva then crouched beside the wolf and opened her healers pack. The scent of herbs filled the air as Riva cast a quick, practised eye over the wolf.

Her confidence only grew as she stepped into the field she knew best. Fighting off a lion? Terrifying, facing a wolf going into shock? Bad, but she could deal with it. She gently touched around the wound, seeing the grit in the blood, and would nod to herself. Her movements were practiced and careful, and it was clear she knew what she was doing. Her strong pain relief already had lavender, but as she opened the jar to her pre-made salve, she would add a few sprinkles of dried chamomile, stirring it with a clean stick she kept for this purpose. She then scooped it onto a flat leaf she pulled from her pack and pushed it in front of the girl.

This, is medicine.” she said, looking at the wolf, but speaking to the lion. “Lavender and Chamomile for shock, Meadowsweet for pain relief and fatigue. A pinch of wintergreen, one of the strongest pain reliefs out there, and a small amount goes a long way, and a touch ginseng root to help the body heal.” She spoke as she worked, in the hopes the misguided lion might learn something. “I need you to eat this” she said to the wolf, her voice gentling remarkably. As the wolf -hopefully- chowed down on that, Riva would begin to inspect her wounds in search of the worst ones.

Cannival

Poison? Cannival thought bitterly. The nerve of this wolf; she'd worked hard to gather those! With a small huff, the lioness padded forward on silent paws to move just behind the healer. She was probably tall enough that she could stand over the wolf, but instead chose to stand as close as possible. Her long neck arched to look over the she-wolf's shoulder as she dressed the wounds. "Is that helping? She's not hurting you, is she?" The cat's voice was thick with worry, and she directed an accusatory glare to the back of the blue wolf's head.

The healer was talking then, and explaining why her medicines were better then Cannival's. She sniffed the air gently, craning her neck to better see the various herbs colors and shapes. "Yes, well what are you going to do about the bleeding?" The lioness asked, eyes searching the healers pack curiously. "What an interesting accessory."

“Poison?!” Bellamy’s mind echoed the she-wolf’s words thickly, green eyes snapping open disconcertedly as she peered over at the purple flowers now cascading down the side of the rock, teeth gritted against her screaming wounds. A feeling of cold washed over at her, heart-rate jumping up again due to the close call. “You were going to feet me poison?!” She half-yelled in a scratchy voice, tone accusatory towards the lioness and distaste curling her delicate features. Belle was certain that it hadn’t been on purpose so her tone was laced more with tired disbelief rather than anger. If she’d been in a better state she might’ve laughed, more out of shock than anything.

As the wolf busied herself Bellamy regarded her movements and satchel with strained curiosity, nose drawing in the earthy notes of scent emanating from the wolf’s herbs. She winced at the she-wolf’s touch, but her impressively smooth and methodical movements were having a calming effect on Belle. It was clear that this wolf knew exactly what she was doing.

The she-wolf’s claims of ‘pain-relief’ and ‘healing’ sounded promising to Bellamy’s ears; not that she could verify any of the wolf’s claims, herself having an incredibly rudimentary and fragmented knowledge of herbology. This wolf could be playing her for a complete fool, and Belle would be none the wiser. Still, Belle tried to grab onto as many strands of information as she could as the healer spoke, desperately wanting to be able to use this information for later, but most of it slipped straight through her hazy mind. Still, the healer’s voice was gentle and soothing, bringing back warm memories of her childhood pack’s kindly healer who had often tended to Belle’s scrapes and ailments she gathered from her frequent misadventures. Despite herself, the young she-wolf couldn’t help but get lulled into a sense of security.

Bellamy’s ears pricked forward as the dark female offered her the concoction, carefully inspecting the mixture. The thought of poison still lingered in the back of her mind and played sourly along her tastebuds. The dusty-brown she-wolf took a deep breath and steeled herself before taking it in her mouth, quickly downing it. She let out a shaky breath through her nostrils, teeth gritted as she tried her best not to throw up the foreign mixture. “Thank you…” Bellamy said with quiet appreciation towards the she-wolf’s efforts once she’d somewhat regained her composure. It was evident in her tone that she was not just referring to the herbs, but also to her anti-poison intervention.

“Is that helping? She’s not hurting you, is she?” The lioness’s worried voice bounced around Bellamy’s mind as she once again rested her head and closed her eyes. “No more hurt than I would’ve been ingesting poison… She muttered with half-hearted vehemence, not having the energy to be truly angry at the lioness. Strain crossed her features as the wolf inspected her wounds, wincing at the light touches. Now she only had to wait for the herbs to kick in, and take away the singeing pain.

She felt the presence of the lion directly behind, and well her fur bristled a little in expectation of a swipe, she didn’t stop her work. Helping others mattered too much, was too deeply drilled into her. The lioness still did not strike, through her words were anything but friendly to Riva. “Easy, easy” Riva murmured when the wolf jumped up, she was going to worsen her injuries is she kept moving about. She accused the lion of poisoning her as Riva tried to gently push the larger wolf back down.

“Wolfsbane can be used as a sedative in an emergency, in very small quantity and diluted. Perhaps the lioness heard of it somewhere and didn’t know the dangers of the poison” Riva suggested, a white flag as it were, now that she knew Cannival hadn’t tried to hurt the wolf. Of course, her near disaster due to a lack of knowledge pricked at Riva. she was going to sit this lion down and teach her once she had finished seeing to the wolf.

The wolf inspected the offer salve cautiously, and Riva couldn’t fault her for that. Right now, she only had one creatures word against another to know that one was trying to poison, and the other help.
“I’m Riva, Kesali’s highest ranking healer. What's your name?” she asked the wolf, keep her voice gentle and soothing, giving her something to concentrate on, to grasp hold of well she worked through her fears and pain.

As she spoke, she drew another jar from her bag, and inspected it before grimacing. Her Trillium-infused water was running low. She would have to prioritise the wolfs injuries. She poured some out into a small dish she placed beside her, dipping clean moss into this from her supplies. She then moved to the wolf’s body and started with the worst cut. “I’ve infused Trillium in salt water, it's one of the strongest, safest disinfectants out there. This will sting.” she warned, before gently scrubbing the worst wound, around her right shoulder. Once she had cleaned this wound, she spread a salve over it. “It’s a mix made with Yarrow, Goldenrod, white willow bark and honey. It will help keep it clean and boost healing.” she explained as she spread it, before binding it with a weaving of fibres that she had traded a healer for. Once she was sure it was tight, she moved on to other wounds, using less and less water and salve as she went, until she was simply treating cuts with a quick dab and tying it with lambs ear. She spoke mostly to the wolf, but also moved in a way that the lioness could see what she was doing.

Cannival

“No more hurt than I would’ve been ingesting poison…” The she-wolf gave in response and Cannival glanced away as she felt the heat of shame flood into her face. "Well, you must be feeling better if you have the energy for wit." Came the cat's muttered response. Her ears flattened, and she stepped forward to lounge upon the boulder beside the healer as she worked. She still had view of the wounds, and she craned her head to maintain line of sight as Riva moved to and from each gnarly gash.

She didn't say much while the wolf worked, not wanting to interrupt her train of thought or break her concentration. Though nearing the last of the wounds, the feline piped up. "I didn't know it was poison." Her voice was soft, and in it's inflection was a trace of her hurt feelings. "I am sorry." She looked down at her paws, unsheathing her claws in the dirt to drag them in small, sad circles. To the healer she directed her next few words. "I cleaned her cuts best I could, there were barbs stuck in amongst the fur. I suppose a wolf's tongue would have been better, I hope I didn't irritate any of the wounds too badly."

[[sorry this post is a bit awful lmao, alsoo I won't be posting for a couple days as imma going away :p]]

Bellamy stayed obediently still for the healer, allowing her to tend her wounds. She wasn’t quite sure if the herbs had kicked in, but the pounding pain of her wounds was seeming to slowly die off, especially as she had stopped moving around. She’d calmed considerably down as her confidence rose in this healer’s abilities, giving her mind some time to calm down and begin to clear.

“Perhaps the lioness heard it somewhere.” Lioness? Bellamy thought, more fixated on that word than the rest of the healer’s mitigating statement. The word had tinges of familiarity; maybe she’d heard it in a story as a pup. So that's what the creature was?

“I’m Riva, Kesali’s highest ranking healer. What’s your name?”

"Highest ranking? That's impressive." Bellamy commented offhandedly, eyebrows raised a little as she gave the healer a sidelong glance, pain still evident in her voice and features as much as she tried to ignore it. The dark female looked quite young, around her own age. She couldn't say she was surprised, though, from the young she-wolf's practiced and calm movements.

“Uhh, I’m Bellamy.” She offered after a moment, having almost forgot she'd been asked question. She didn't exactly have much else to say about herself, she realized with a tinge of embarrassment. “I’m, uhm… I’m a traveler.” She added a little awkwardly, feeling as if she also had to tack on a title at the end to meet this wolf's standards. Did that sound stupid? She thought ruefully. Bellamy herself had never really had any strong life goals or aspirations, for as long as she could remember.

Belle gritted her teeth at Riva’s warning of the pain to come. As the healer started applying the disinfectant she cried out a little despite herself, ears flat against her skull. She jammed her eyes shut and focused all her attention on breathing slowly and deeply, breaths shuddering and twisting a little as the healer scrubbed at her wounds.

After the streaks of pain started to die down again, she glanced to the lioness as she apologized, Belle’s features unreadable. “I didn’t know it was poison. I am sorry.” She regarded the lioness for a few moments, remaining icily impartial as she decided if she was still mad. The lioness had almost killed her, but Bellamy had never been great at maintaining a front of coldness towards others. Plus, she was still somewhat baffled that she hadn’t tried to eat her in the first place. She sighed, natural curiosity trumping her lingering irritation. “Do you… hang out with wolves a lot, or is this a once-off sorta thing?” She said, voice not exactly warm and welcoming, but certainly not cold or snappy either.

She could sense the cats disappointment, but her main focus was the wolf in front of her. At least she was apologising and admitting remorse, it was more than she had ever expected from a predatory cat. “You didn’t right in cleaning them, i’m just thorough” she explained as she used the last of her Trillium water with a sigh. She was going to need to spend long days hunting down more of that herb soon. It was too useful to go without.

Riva blushed as the wolf clung to the ‘highest ranking’ part of her speech, she had used it to reassure the girl, not to brag. “Bellamy,” Riva said “You're doing wonderfully and im almost done.” she promised the wolf. She was one of the easiest patients Riva had dealt with, even with the giant lion breathing down her neck. She didn’t complain, she didn’t squirm, and she let the healer get on with her job.

“-and done” Riva said as she finished the last wound and stepped back to inspect the wolf. She had really scored a lot of wounds, but all of them had at least a dab of herbs upon them.

“Don’t stretch in this way, or this way” Riva told her, moving her own shoulder in an example. “I’ll want to change the bandage on the shoulder tomorrow, after that you can add some of this herb to it sparingly over a few weeks to ensure it heals without infection.” she instructed her patient, also implying that she would be sticking around at least for a day.

OOC: Since this thread started before Canni joined Abaven, I'm continuing it as if she's not found the pack yet. :) For Sea's understanding xD Nope I'm fucking stupid. This was set after Abaven. -ninja edit-

Cannival

Cannival stood once the healer had proclaimed her work complete, inspecting the wolf with a careful gaze that realistically the lioness had no right to use. She knew absolutely nothing of healing, she could find no flaws in the she-wolf's work even if there were any. It felt right, however, to at least appear scrutinizing.

In her studying, Cannival had almost forgotten that the injured wolf had asked her a question. Her name she said was Bellamy, and she did her best to remember it. "Do you… hang out with wolves a lot, or is this a once-off sorta thing?”

"I don't know any other wolves." She answered honestly, feeling slightly ashamed that she'd met so little of the wolves in Abaven. "I'd like to, though. I came here to find a new home with creatures less..." Cannival struggled with her words. Violent? Cruel? She couldn't assume that wolves were perfect, she was sure they were capable of monstrosities too at times. "...catty. I'm living in Abaven for now, their alphas seem nice."

A pause, and the lioness continued. "Do you have a home? Someone to look after you? I'd feel quite bad just walking away even with the help you've had to your wounds." How would the injured wolf manage to hunt in her condition?

[[thicc post incoming!! aah]]

Bellamy gingerly pushed herself into a sitting position after the healing announced she was finished, paws tentative against the rock and a wince crossing her features at her stiff movements. She nodded dutifully as the she-wolf administered instructions about how she shouldn't move and about the herbs she could apply to her wounds, eyes considering her movements carefully.

"I'll want to change the bandage on the shoulder tomorrow."
As it dawned on her that this wolf was going to be sticking around to help her, the seriousness of her situation suddenly struck her; the initial shock of her injury had faded, and now she was left stumped at what she’d do during the recuperation process. She craned her neck, looking at her newly bound and clean wounds appreciatively.

“Thank you for all of this, Riva, really,” She earnestly said, meeting the she-wolf’s light gaze, at loss to what else she could do to show her gratitude; her carelessness had wasted this wolf’s time and resources, not to mention the fact that her pack would likely be missing her presence. Not only had she stopped her from eating poison, without any help she’d have likely been in a grave situation in the first place. “I seriously owe you. I’ll have to find a way to pay you back sometime.” She said definitively to the healer, the girl trying to smother down the creeping feeling of guilt tugging at her mind. Not that that her offer was worth much at this point; it wasn’t like Bellamy had much to give, but she felt that it was the right thing to say.

Belle glanced to the lioness, tilting her head at her response. "You're in a wolf pack?" She said, clearly a little surprised. Who was she to judge? "Well, thank you for... helping me." She said with a small wry smile, her voice a little sarcastic but overall good natured. Feeling that her tone had been a little ungrateful, she quickly clarified, "Really, thank you for getting me out. And not leaving me for dead."

“Do you have a home? Someone to look after you?”
Bellamy considered the lioness's question for a few moments. She looked a little at loss, staring at the rock thoughtfully; her family was god-knows-where, she’d have little chance of locating them, especially in her current state. “Nah, I’m unfortunately a drifter.” She responded with a short laugh, paused, then quickly added, “Which I’m fine with, of course, I left my family to travel.” Was the lioness leading onto an offer to stay with her and her pack-wolves? She certainly wasn't ready to settle with her travels, but maybe a little companionship wouldn’t be the worst in her current state… She gave an unsure smile and a small shrug at the lioness’s implied (as far as she could tell) offer, wincing as her wounds made themselves known; she couldn’t deny that the idea of being around a pack again made her a little uncomfortable, even for the short-term.

Avoiding the idea for now, Bellamy pushed her small frame unsteadily onto her paws with a quiet groan, legs shaking a little. She sucked in a breath as she tested each leg, trying her best not to disturb her wounds too much, or their dressings.

Belle cleared her throat, a late afternoon breeze ruffling her coat. “I guess I-uhh… it’d be best if we found somewhere to hole up for the coming night?” She announced as she looked between the two, a little uncertain, although she herself had come across quite a few caves and shelters along the twisting mountain paths. Her statement had been directed at both the lioness and the healer; the latter had made it clear she was going to stay, though she wasn’t sure whether the former was planning on sticking around for the night. Hazel-green eyes scanned the surrounding landscape, trying to trace out an easy path that she could possibly hobble along, preferably sans-brambles. How she was even going to get off this rock was beyond her. “I dunno. If we’re gonna be stuck bunking on this mountain we may as well be comfy. What do you think?” She conferred with the young healer, a tentative smile crossing her maw.

The lioness mentioned a pack, through Riva didn’t know the names of those in the land very well. She did find it somewhat surprising to hear that a lion was making a home in the lands of a pack, but who was she to judge.

When Bellamy thanks her, Riva smiled gently at her “It’s my pleasure, I'm just glad I was nearby” she explained. She was doubly glad she hadn’t had to fight the lioness, to scare her away, because Riva wasn’t delusional enough to think she might have had a chance. She didn’t have a chance against wolves, so the stronger, larger, and solo-hunter was have made an easy meal out of Riva.

“You owe me nothing, I live to learn and apply my craft, I don’t ask for anything in return” she explained as the wolf continued to express her thanks. She got a little embarrassed by the other girls appreciation, and fought down a blush. When it came to healing, Riva never had doubts, but social interactions, accepting thanks? These where things she found a little harder.

“I agree that we should spend a night here, you shouldn’t move too far right now, but after that? Your welcome to come back to Kesali with me, there would be no expectation over you, i’m sure my Alpha would offer you a place to stay temporarily well you recover and figure out your next steps.” she explained, not wanting to impose too much on a wolf that already pointed out that she was a drifter

Cannival

Cannival lifted a paw to scratch awkwardly at her ear, grimacing as she did so. She was right; Bellamy didn't have anywhere to go. The lioness herself was still on probation at Abaven, she had no right to be inviting strangers in. Her eyes lowered to stare upon the ground, as she tried to come up with an acceptable compromise. Bellamy had thanked her for helping, and she could only rumble out a "You're welcome, truly. I'm glad it worked out."

You're welcome to come back to Kesali with me. The healer's words would cut through Cannival's train of thought, and her ears perked at the offer. Thank god, she'd not have to bumble her way through this. She thought on how useful Riva had been, and hoped one day she could excel and help others the same way. "Riva..." She began, tail swinging behind her nervously. "I could use some practice. Would you mind if I stayed with the two of you for the night, and you could possibly teach me a bit more?" She eyed the bundle of herbs which the healer brought, curiosity burning. "I don't want to almost make such a fatal mistake again." She glanced to Bellamy once more, hoping she'd not be opposed to her staying.

The dusty-brown she-wolf tilted her head at Riva's offer to stay with Kesali, a wave of quiet panic rushing over her despite herself. She wasn’t ready to let her travels end just yet; as far as Belle was concerned, her adventure had just started. The young wolf opened her mouth to say something, anything, but she closed it as the she-wolf assured her hat she could stay temporarily, while she recovered. She considered it for a few moments, ticking it over in her mind.

“Yes, that would be amazing! Thank you,” She gave a friendly yet somewhat strained smile at the she-wolf’s offer, unable to help but feel a little anxious, though grateful that she wouldn't have to support herself in this state. She wasn’t entirely convinced that if she recuperated in the pack's refuge she wouldn’t be obligated to stay put for longer, but she didn’t have much other choice in her current situation. Get it together, she mentally chastised herself; she knew she was making something out of nothing.

As the lioness requested to stay and learn about herbs, mentioning the ‘fatal mistake,’ Belle couldn’t help but notice the lioness glance towards her, raising her eyebrows in response when she met her gaze but otherwise looking indifferent. “Yeah, I wouldn’t mind learning a thing or two as well, just to help me out on the road.” Belle agreed. Just so I don't try to down another round of poison, She added in her mind.

“So, what’s Kesali like?” The yearling asked Riva curiously, trying to feel out her new potential refuge; hopefully finding out more about them would calm her nerves. This could be fun, she thought, if she chose to make it that way. “Not too strict, is it?”Bellamy queried, a cheeky smile playing on her maw, although this question was pretty important to her; the female wasn’t sure how well she'd cope in a highly regimented environment, even for a short while.
