This was perhaps the first time she came to the battlefield in search of a real fight. She had trained with her father once upon a time, but they had gotten kinda distant lately. Maybe she wasn't doing good enough? Maybe she was...disappointing him? If that was the case, she'd show that she was good enough and that she could do things. So she strode onto the battlefield, but lacked confidence in her gait. She was nervous. She had never been in a real fight before, or a true spar or whatever. It had always mostly been in theory or practice with her dad, that was it. She stopped. The wind tugged slightly at her fur as she looked around. This place looked so...glum...it was no wonder she hadn't been here before. With a nervous twitch of her tail, she stood awkwardly as she thought about how to go about this. Did she howl? Did she just...stand there and hope for someone to swing by? Or was she supposed to go look for someone? Frowning, she tilted her head back and howled. It was far from confident, but oh well. Valkyrie arrived on the scene in a flash. She'd been drawn to the call for a fight like a moth to flame. If she was going to make a name for herself in these lands then she needed to hone her skills and become someone worth remembering.

The caller was older than her. Female, quite a bit smaller than her...and a pretty shade of red with mismatched eyes. Valkyrie had to remind herself not to covet things she couldn't yet have.

"Looking for a fight, huh? Well I'm game. Let's go, girlie,"

she said with a devilish grin.

Perhaps she should have given her opponent time to respond, but Valkyrie was too eager for a fight for pleasantries. She leaped forward suddenly with every intention of plowing her chest into the outside of her opponent's left shoulder. There was enough of a size difference Valkyrie thought she could knock the smaller woman off her paws and pin her to the ground.

Simultaneously she sought to use her right forepaw to reach out in the hopes of reaching under Kairi and grabbing her right foreleg at the elbow. The intent was to pull the limb towards Valkyrie's chest and by doing so help toss Kairi over.

"Talk"

She nervously stood there, tail flicking as she waited. It didn't take long though because a younger girl showed up and though her colors were simple, she was damn pretty. Not only that, but she noticed her feet...they weren't like normal canine paws, but instead looked more similar to that of a cats. She was dumbfounded for a moment, enthralled even. She had never seen that before, and didn't know such a thing existed! Of course, she didn't know rainbow wolves were a thing until Jewell came along, but this was much, much more interesting than rainbow fur!

The stranger spoke, and before Kairi could even respond the brown woman had charged. Surprise by the sudden quickness of the attempted assault, the red woman flinched back, causing Valk body slam to miss her by a hair. She did feel those claws though, when they cut shallow marks across her chest. The pain surprised her, but luckily for her, her flinching back had saved her enough that she managed to avoid serious damage...for now. Still surprised, the adrenaline started to kick in and she remembered why she was here.

And what she was supposed to do. Shaking her thoughts free, she growled and leaped forward to sort of chase Valk like they were playing a game of tag. She lunged forward, aiming to bite the woman's tail and grab a hold, while her forepaw reached forward seeking to try and trip up her opponents back legs in an effort to unbalance her or...something. She wasn't too sure what she was doing. She wasn't even sure if what her dad had taught her applied to someone with big freaky cat claws or if it was an entirely different game. Whatever the case, this was still her first real fight, and there was a 99.99999% chance she was making a total fool of herself.

Though she may have been big, Valkyrie was fast. As she felt her opponent's teeth close on her tail she whipped around like a snake. Her intention wasn't to pull her tail free - no, her opponent could keep it for the time being - but to curl in on herself in a tight 'U' shape. Valkyrie's goal was to wrap her opponent up. She wanted to get her left forepaw over Kairi's neck and her right forepaw underneath it. Claws out, of course, to add a little 'bite' to her hug.

Her opponent's attempt to trip her up was successful, but had an unintended consequence. With her back paws no longer planted firmly beneath her and her rump no doubt about to hit the ground, Valkyrie decided to hell with replanting her back paws. Who needed a firm foundation anyway when your hind paws were equipped with sharp claws too?

As her left hip hit the ground Valkyrie rolled her rump to her right so that she was "sitting" on her lower back. With her hind paws now facing upwards she kicked up and out in the hopes of clawing her opponent's neck and chest with both hind paws. This bunny kick, paired with her hug, would hopefully overwhelm her opponent and force her to submit.

Well, she managed to grab hold of her opponents tail, but it seemed she was due to be fucked when she did. Still holding Valk's tail, her eyes widened when she saw Valk curl around and towards her. Oh crap... Was pretty much the only thing she had time to think before Valk got her forelegs around her and those claws dug and tangled with fur and flesh. It was like really sharp thorns digging into her flesh which caused Kairi to grit her teeth and squeeze her eyes shut for a moment as a gasp of pain slipped past. Fuck. She was definitely not ready for this and most certainly needed a lot more training. She had also managed to trip her opponent, but where she succeeded she had also failed to think ahead about the potential moves her opponent would make. Again, Valk was successful as she kicked out, though Kairi released her grip on the woman's tail and pulled her head back enough to avoid the kicks to her face and instead, sought to grab one of those hind paws in her own jaws to hopefully reduce anymore damage...though her chest wasn't so lucky. She felt the kicks and she felt the claws. By this point, the adrenaline was there but the sting of pain was still enough to make her feel like this had been a bad idea...
