It had been an awkward talk with Sirius, and Zee figured she could use some air. She went far from the den they now shared and wandered her way to the lake to catch some birds. Truthfully they had enough feathers to make their pillows, but she needed something active to clear her mind. She could have gone to Deathbelle, but she worried the guard might make his appearance there as well and for now she simply needed time to think and reflect.
Sirius made the whole thing look so difficult, but for Zee's light frame it was easy enough. It wasn't hard to find the birds, and as soon as she was able to slither close enough she'd leap forward quickly to try to snatch it out of the air. Failing that - occasionally the bird would lift off too early - there were plenty of boulders nearby that she could launch herself off of into the sky to latch onto the fleeing creature's legs. Killing the thing was much harder, and unfortunately when holding onto only it's leg she was forced to smack the bird against the ground hard to end it's struggle. After only two birds, her face was scratched and her fur out of place. Zee hated it, but it was for Deathbelle.

Harbringr headed toward the lake, anxious to burn off a bit of excess energy. He hadn't quite decided if he'd run a lap or two around the lake or if he'd instead try his paw at fishing. He was getting better but still inclined to believe that the effort of fishing just wasn't worth the return. Maybe he could find a packmate to spar. He still had goals of getting on Hannibal's level in terms of experience and skill.
Hari's head jerked up, his nostrils flaring as he caught the scent of blood, bird blood. Someone had made a kill. Curious he followed the source to a small woman who had a couple of birds at her feet. He dimly recognized her as Deathbelle's slave. "That's a fine pair of birds. You looking for a bit of physical activity? I need a sparring partner." True she was smaller than his usual opponent but he knew he needed to learn to fight all kinds of wolves and he had next to no experience with shorter wolves.
There was an interruption, and Zee was startled enough that she released the bird in her mouth to flap wildly away. She gave a terse growl before turning to meet whomever had addressed her. Immediately she recognized the male as a Klein - hell, everyone in this pack seemed to be a Klein. He did not demand anything from her as she was coming to expect from her masters. In fact, his request seemed to have given her the option to say no.
She considered for a moment whether or not she could be found disrespectful for rejecting his challenge, but remembered her promise to Sirius. He was tired of being the tool the Klein's used to hurt her, and she'd sworn to do her best to not have it happen again. "Certainly, Sire." She could have went with 'your grace' as Sirius often used to address them, though saying it felt silly. "I'm not the most adept, but I will do my best to provide a decent challenge for you."
Zee stepped away from the birds, giving them one last longing glance before moving a good distance away from the challenger. What was customary? Ten feet? Zee had no idea, but it sounded right. She swallowed hard, and then nodded at the man - a signal that she was ready for him to proceed. "Maybe I should have Sirius give me a sparring lesson, this is going to be rough."

Harbringr flinched as he watched the bird sputter into the air. Oops… he hadn't realized she'd been in the midst of killing another bird. No doubt she was doing an important task for the pack and he hadn't meant to goof it up but there was nothing that could be done about it now. The bird was wounded so perhaps she could track it later and finish it off.
His ears flicked forward at being called "Sire". It was so strange to be referred to formally again. He'd spent most of his time as a wandering vagabond since the drought. There were no ranks or honorifics against those struggling to survive. In some ways Harbringr felt out of place in the pack. His older siblings seemed to fall so readily into their rolls in the upper class. He knew he was superior to the woman he was facing but after everything he'd been through some days it was hard to remember that. Starvation didn't care about his bloodline or his name. Agony didn't care about his bloodline or his name. Death didn't care about his bloodline or his name.
I'm not the most adept, but I will do my best to provide a decent challenge for you.
Harbringr chuckled. "I'm sure you'll do fine. I'm old and rusty and I have four left feet." His klutziness almost caused him to meet his end in a jaguar's jaws. He never used to be that way. No doubt he needed to get back in shape. Food and water had certainly helped and now it was time to sculpt calories into muscle. Harbringr faced off against the woman and quickly set his defenses including pinning his ears to his head. He let his tail align with his spine rather than tucking it. As the first attacker it was more beneficial for him to use it as a ruder.
He kicked of violently, sending dirt and grass into the air as he bared down on the woman. His jaws open and he twisted his head sharply to the side as he tried to grab hold of the woman's head just in front of her ears with his upper fangs on her right temple and his lower fangs on her left. He hoped to get a solid grip that he could use to make it harder for her to retaliate. In addition he lifted his right foreleg and attempted to throw it over the base of her neck right in front of her shoulders with the goal of letting his weight fall onto the smaller woman.

Her opponent sprang quickly and Zee swallowed a fearful 'yeep' as his larger form barreled towards her. His jaws opened and came straight for her head, and the small woman ducked out of the way of his teeth, her ears pinning tightly against her skull to keep them free of the attack. Having dodged the bite, she did not expect a second move. His paw came down upon her shoulder hard, wrapping tightly around her.
She didn't like the feeling of being restricted and a part of her wanted to turn tail and run if only she could get free of his grasp. Though she tried to be brave, telling herself that the Klein wouldn't seriously injure her. She angled her head upwards towards the larger male, aiming to throw her neck forward and latch her jaws around the underside of his muzzle from underneath.

Harbringr's teeth snapped shut over air as the woman ducked his bite but his arm was successful and he quickly pushed his weight down, aware how vulnerable his undersides were with her head still free. Her jaws lanced up and he twisted his head sharply to his left to try and avoid those fangs. They would fail to get hold and instead clip his skin leaving light lacerations on the right side of his lower jaw. Well, well, the little twerp had drawn first blood! He felt almost proud of her.
Twisting his head back in and down he sought to grab hold of the woman's upper right arm seeking a good hold and hoping to return her bite for bite knowing full well her jaws were still free to do more damage. Let them. He was here for a good spar and the pain only made him feel more present. It kept the past at bay and cast a haze on the future. There was only now. In addition to his bite Harbringr also sought to continue putting pressure on the woman with his right arm, seeking to continue to hinder her movement.

Her bite landed and Zee was so shocked that she recoiled from the metallic taste of blood, eyes widening in surprise. It didn't last long however, as in her distraction the Klein took opportunity to grasp his jaws upon her leg. The pressure built from his heavier form, and for a moment Zee was beyond panicked. Her mind told her it was only a spar, but a slave was considered expendable was it not? Harbringr was putting pressure on her as well as holding upon her leg, if she were to fall at this angle there was the potential for real damage.
Fear-driven, the she-wolf took advantage of the freedom of her jaws to lash out against him. Her head angled downwards and she aimed to latch them upon the side of his muzzle where he held her leg. It was a very awkward maneuver, but hopefully if she could puncture flesh in any sort of way she could cause him to release her. Her body wanted to buckle against his weight, but she needed him to let go of her leg before she could consider it.

For a moment everything seemed to be going his way but the slave woman was quick and fierce and her jaws latched on the side of his muzzle. They were tangled together and this put him in an awkward spot. Normally in a fight his go to move would be to thrash his head to both free himself and simultaneously worsen the damage to the woman's shoulder but he'd run the risk of maiming her. She was not his slave, she was Deathbelle's and he felt his sister would be furious with him if maimed her. In truth Harbringr expected the woman to give up much sooner in the fight but her tenacity had won out.
Harbringr tensed the muscles in his stomach, his legs coiling beneath him as he slipped his arm off of her so he could push back and out of the way. The result was lacerations on his muscle but he was free. "Ok, I give! Good fight, you have a lot of spark for one so small." His tongue flashed out as he licked at the blood on his muzzle, grinning at the woman as he did so. "What is your name?"
