after trying to catch fireflies, Siobhan would return to where she saw Aunt Kairi. once more, Papa sat on the sidelines and watched his daughter play. she'd give a friendly wink to him as she set to work. her little paws were nothing compared to the large mass of earth but she tried her best. she wanted to play in all the events, and she'd done everything but this one. "c'mon, c'mon!" she uttered under her breath, digging furiously at the ground. Siobhan didn't know what she'd find, but she hoped it was super shiny or useful. maybe a shiny gem or a rock... maybe something that her pack could use. or maybe she'd gift it to her siblings and parents. the ticket booth had a ton of fun things she wanted to buy, but she'd have to get tickets for that huh? "tickets! tickets! where are youuu?" the girl stuck her head into the hole she made. ooc; sio attempt 1. digs at I-13 |

Rags felt out of place among so many events that required physical prowess. Why weren't there any games of intellectual skill? It was a massive oversight, she thought sulkily. Even worse, she was flushed and in heat. Any adult wolf with a lick of sense could see it wafting off of her in waves. It was an embarrassing condition, to be sure.
But Torin was kind enough to let her tag along on his family adventure, and for that she was grateful. Lirim was turning out to be more of a home than she had ever imagined. She was gladly tailing Sio, relishing her puppy antics. There was something about it that warmed her heart - and scratched a certain maternal itch. "Look at you!" She praised the puppy as she dug. Rags had spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to dig nearby, with mixed results. Perhaps she would return to the spot later and try again - with all of the loose dirt in the hole, she couldn't even tell if she'd found anything.

Paddy would race after his sister, not digging directly beside her, but nearby. He was hoping so desperately to find some treasure, but he really didn't want to beat his sister either. He was just hoping for an extremely fun experience at this festival for the both of them, but he wouldn't go down without putting effort into the events either. He would watch as again another Lirim member, Rags, would dig close by as well and watched both of them for a moment to see if they came up with anything.
Then he quickly paced, nose to the ground searching for the spot that he himself wanted to dig. He wasn't sure if he would end up having a hunter's nose like his mother, but he was more then willing to try. Once he found a spot that he thought might be promising he spread his back legs evenly and began to dig with all his might, digging as fast and as deep as he could.
He really hoped he could find something, but only time would tell as he dug away at the earth. After the main layer of earth the dirt became more softer, and more easier to dig.

Siobhan was full of hope that she'd get something. anything was better than nothing, right? her eyes looked up, spotting a Lirim woman praising her before setting to work herself. she'd give a friendly yap in return, her paws hitting something immediately and turning her attention away from Rags. pulling it out, she looked in wonder at the dirty chain. it looked to be from a necklace of some sort but it was beyond use now. "aww..." she wanted tickets but she got this instead. raising a paw to wipe at her brow, she'd turn to spot Paddy too digging away. "what'd you get, Paddy?" she raced over to him, knowing her turn had ended and she couldn't do anymore. as sad as that way, she was excited about her brother's turn. what would he find? if he got tickets, he could get something nice! the lady was still digging too, and Siobhan turned and bounded away to her to peer into the nice hole she had made. she'd shyly look up at the lady, not really interacting with her before now. she knew she was in Lirim though; she'd seen her loads of times. "did you find something?" she asked innocently. ooc; n/a |

Rags soaked in her time with the puppies. The discomfort of her heat was slightly alleviated by their presence, and she appreciated the fact that they were too young to fully grasp her current predicament. The festival would be best spent with those a bit younger in years, perhaps. After all, it wasn't like she had prospects to speak of. Although the thought troubled her slightly, she tried not to pay it too much mind. Her disabilities weren't hereditary due to having developed from blunt trauma; one day, she'd very much like to be a mother. But that wasn't in the cards this season or in any foreseeable future.
Shaking off her melancholy thoughts, she preoccupied herself instead with Torin's children. "You had a good go of it," she assured Siobhan, knowing that the pup was disappointed in her findings. "Why don't you help me look in my hole? I can't quite clear the dirt away myself." It was true. Her own hole was a mess of loose dirt that her clumsy paws couldn't quite scrape out. Maybe she would get to share some of her findings with the little ones. "And your brother, too - come along, help me finish my dig!" Rags offered with a smile.
