Valkyrie leaned in over the kill and bared her teeth at the approaching polar bear. She'd already dealt with him once and she wasn't too keen on doing it a second time. The bear was a young one, perhaps recently separated from his mother, and like most young things he was full of piss and vinegar, and he couldn't seem to admit defeat.

Her and Eyrun had ventured north to see what they could stir up for the market. Valkyrie was keen to find more captives, but she was also interested in other valuables, like weapons. She'd heard there was a large metal mountain called a 'ship' in the north somewhere full of human artifacts and it was that they were headed for. They'd stopped mid morning to hunt and to eat, and it was their food that the young bear was after.

Annoyed at another intrusion by the bear, Valkyrie sneered at it and then hissed to Eyrun, "There are some creatures fit only for warming and cushioning the bed. This is one of those." She looked him up and down and then said, "He will fetch a good price on the market. I want him."

Spending more time with Valkyrie had only continued to prove what Eyrun had already been certain of - that she was meant to be here, among like-minded wolves as well as family. Slowly they would make a name for themselves and their people, all in due time... and, apparently under Valkyrie's watchful guidance, Boreas would come to know of them even more quickly than she'd expected.

Today, though, they were taking a break from watching over the wolves they'd captured to find more supplies. Whether for themselves or for their upcoming market, it didn't matter much; it was all profit, and bringing riches to themselves would only aid them in bringing glory to their gods at the end of it all.

What she didn't expect to encounter today was a young polar bear, leering at them from a distance over the kill they'd taken down. Eyrun was muzzle-deep in their meal, but the interruption caused her to quickly jerk her head upright and return the glare tenfold. Though a sneer tugged at her lips, it shifted quickly into a smirk at Valkyrie's words. 'There are some creatures fit only for warming and cushioning the bed,' she explained, earning a sharp laugh from the younger female. "Like the first runt you captured?" She quipped back, referring to Balsam, casting an amused look Valykrie's way before redirection her attention to the target at hand.

"If you want him, we ought to take him, don't you think?" Eyrun asked, her voice taunting the polar bear more than anything else. Valkyrie surely knew that she'd be hard-pressed to find scenario in which Eyrun wouldn't quickly jump to aid her when she saw something she wanted - these things were rightfully deserved, so long as they had the strength to take them. Eyrun looked like she was about to pounce at the signal, slowly lapping blood from her lips as she surveyed the bear and felt a low growl rising from deep within her chest.

He had never gone this far from home before, but he was yet to find a dark coated sheep with a fluffy winter coat that would serve to full the request of Lady Pandora. He ventured further and further afield, reasoning that the colder the climate he moved to, the higher the chance of finding a fluffy thick coated animal.

He came upon the scene of the two wolves, as he entered the North in earnest. He looked to the first, with the scent of blood catching his attention. Neither wolf matched him in height, through the darker of the two came close. Saber teeth jutting from his lips, as he licked them thoughtfully. He was hungry, but it wouldn’t be worth taking on these two for their prey. He could bring something down in the North, before continuing his search for a winter coat. The wolves themselves had not yet seen him, with their eyes set only for something in the distance, he followed their gaze and stood riggardly to attention, as he found the polar bear that watched them with vivid interest. [u] this [/i] creature stood a good five or so inches taller than him on four feet and he hated to think of its height on two. Its massive arms where as thick as tree trunks, and it looked like it new how to fight.

In an instant, he converted it, for the mettle of testing himself against it, for the coat he could bring home proudly to Belle as a gift. No one had given his Empress a gift like this. He smiled, and looked to the two wolves, wondering if they would assist him. It would be easier if they did, and he could fight them after for the coat. Whatever it took, it would be his

One corner of Valkyrie's mouth rose in amusement at Eyrun's comment. "Perhaps, but I dare say this one will do a better job of it." The bear had a great deal more fur and skin to offer than that little tree-climbing vermin.

Eyrun didn't disagree with her and instead egged her on. Valkyrie's smirk turned into a grin. "Let's get on with it, then, before he decides to take matters into his own paws. I'll give you first blood."

Oblivious to Sirius' presence, Valkyrie charged the bear. She acted as though she were going to plow into him head on but leaped away right before reaching what she thought was the danger zone. Valkyrie arced around him, and the bear, not realizing she wasn't the real threat at the moment, followed her around leaving him blind to Eyrun's movements if she played her cards right.

Valkyrie was right, this one would definitely make a better bed than the tree-climbing runt she'd already caught. The thought of skinning him for his pelt was admittedly amusing, but not entirely practical... surely their small, nimble captive was worth more than just his coat, unlike the beast standing before them. "You're right," she returned the sly grin as Valkyrie commanded her, and she nodded, though held her ground as Valkyrie started to egg on the intruder. Another nod signaled her understanding of their plan as Valykrie moved to charge at the polar bear.

Instead of attacking, Valkyrie taunted the creature to spin around and once he did Eyrun made her move. As she lunged forward she became vaguely aware of the arrival of someone else, though she didn't have time to react to him, let alone properly gauge what they were dealing with. This bear was surely a bigger threat than any wolf, unless he brought company.. but they'd deal with that later. A snarl ripped from her throat as she aimed her parting jaws at one of the bear's hind legs, using all the force she could muster to bear down on it and hope it might send him toppling over, leaving his throat open for Valkyrie to inflict some serious damage.

Well he had hoped to entire the two wolves to join in, he was still surprised when the taller of the two charged the three hundred or so kg killing machine. hot damn that was some liquid courage, he thought as she went for a head on collision, then threw herself to the side at the last second. If she had timed that wrong, he could imagine the way that bears paws would have crushed her.

The bear turned to face her, and her ally went charging for his back leg. Grinning like a fool at these two insane wolves he had stumbled upon, Sirius threw himself into the frey. He would have to figure out what it would take to win the coat from them later, assuming any of them survived this.

The man threw his weight into his back legs and threw himself forward, using the momentum of his run as the titan landed on the back of the white bear. He hoped that that, coupled with the white wolf’s attack on its hind leg might unbalance it. Regardless, he was already climbing the beast, he needed to get to its head. His sabertooth fangs might just be long enough to puncture its brains if he could get them into position, and he imagined that would be their best bet of taking this bear down. “Am I crashing this party, ladies?” he gasped as he navigated the bear.

The bear roared and even though she couldn't see what had caused it, Valkyrie smiled to herself. Eyrun had done as she had expected. Knowing this, Valkyrie felt it safe to turn back. What she hadn't expected to see upon turning around was a wolf climbing the bear. Her smile faded, at first fearing it was one of hers foolishly scaling the massive predator, and then his unusual features jumped out at her. He wasn't one of hers. Her smirk returned. It wouldn't bother her if the bear killed him.

With its leg injured and the weight of the big wolf on its back, the bear staggered to the side. While it fought for balance Valkyrie seized the opportunity to get in close. She darted around behind it and then rammed her shoulder into its uninjured leg while biting into its thigh. Hopefully this was enough to send the creature over onto its back. The stranger wasn't going to crash anything. She was.

Courage wasn't the right word for what fueled her sudden attack - foolishness might be a more fitting descriptor for Eyrun. She put the utmost faith into her gods to see her through all scenarios, no matter how reckless she might be.. and if this was the end for her, so be itThe snarl that ripped forth from her lips seemed to bounce off the trees around them and right back to her, echoing through the forest, though the sound only further encouraged her. She gripped the beast's back leg hard, hanging on tight as she saw an unusual flash of fur from her side. Her attention had been mostly on the bear, but also partially on Valkyrie, not the stranger that had suddenly appeared... who now was lunging himself on top of the creature, earning a garbled laugh from her jaws as she attempted to bear down hard (no pun intended) into the bear's leg.

"Ever heard the saying-" Eyrun managed to bark out as the beast began to fumble. "Two's company - three's a crowd?" Briefly she relinquished her hold on the bear as it stumbled, a low growl bubbling at the end of her words. She didn't feel like being crushed, but the three of them all attacking the titan made it difficult to tell which way he might fall. Hopefully over backwards - Eyrun wondered if there was a way to pry this stranger's oversized teeth from his jaw if he ended up an unexpected casualty, deciding they would likely make fantastic weapons that they could fetch a pretty price for at market...

The titan held a fearless, all in approach to fighting. He liked to throw his muscle and elongated fangs at a problem until it was gone. He used the momentum of his run to push at the bear as he landed on its back, aiming to assist the white wolf who had gone for its leg. He didn’t stay there for long, pushing his weight against his back with his forepaws, as he sailed backwards with the force of the push, an attempt to shove it forward, and clear himself from the fall radius.

The darker wolf had gone for its second leg, and it had little to support itself now, and went down as Sirius flew from its back, and they both hit the ground, the bear on its belly away from him, and Sirius on his paws. The titan was already whirling around, running at the fallen bear.

The Titan leaped forward again, going for its head this time, well it lay in an advantageous position for the wolves. He hoped to sink his fangs into his brain, a difficult target for any creature that didn’t have the aid of his long, sturdy fangs.
