One More Shot
With his spar in Auster finished, Aureus sought to move northward to the Battlefield where the wolves of Boreas met to challenge each other in combat. He hoped to get a feel for fighting other opponents that weren't his family. While he felt the Abraxas were clearly the stronger opponents he knew to be careful around the crafty, tricksome tactics of the mortal wolves. Kali walked lazily by his side while his winged companion, Griff, rested on his back, nestled right behind his shoulder blades. Over time he got used to the feeling of the birds talons on his back. He scouted out a nice location, barren and free of debris. Satisfied, he tipped back his head and howled for an opponent, hoping he would get someone challenging.
Basilia had made it, she was at the battlefield. A quick glance around revealed a young wolf who had called for a fight. He didn’t look like much, but she could use a warm up before she got serious. She walked up to the wolf and squared up. Assuming a fighting stance she said “I’ll give you first move” her blackbird flying above them to warn her of any danger and Zabit hovering behind her talons ready to attack. She noticed the bird he had on his back and the jaguar he had to his side, she noted them as creatures to keep an eye on. Getting caught off guard would do her no good. |
His call was answered by a good sized woman who looked like she'd seen her fair share of fights. "Sounds good." There was no point in chatting. Aureus was ready to get right down to business. Griff took off into the air while Kali moved several feet away but still stayed within their makshift arena. There was no way the cat was missing out on this fight. Aureus quickly set his defenses, among them pinning his ears and raising his hackles. His jaws parted, ready for use as he exploded forward toward the woman. He twisted his left shoulder, thrusting it forward as he attempted to slam it into the woman's windpipe. He hoped she would choke and give him a few moments of advantage.
Simultaneously he attempted to jab his right forepaw down toward the inside two toes of her left forepaw in the hopes that his superior size and weight would strain them and limit her movement. As he did so, Aureus' neck would arc down as he aimed to fasten his jaws overtop of the base of Basilia's muzzle, his upper canines aiming for the flesh just below her right eye and his lower fangs just below her left. The goal was to tear flesh and scare her a bit with how close he would try to get to her eyes. In a maim fight this was good practice for Aureus so he could work out attack combos that might aid him in taking an opponents sight. He did not seek a grip. At this angle, with such a large surface of the face, it would be too difficult to maintain a hold.
