Go ask your mother
Deathbelle

Pestilence's early life was full of playtime and fun and adventures, but lately it seemed like all she'd been doing was listening to sermons and learning about Abraxas culture. Now she was tasked to create a sigil and the small pup was all too confused about what she wanted to use to represent herself. Her mom would certainly have the answers, and that was her first stop after the sermon explaining what was expected of these odd symbols. Pesto was practicing her stalking at the same time, following Deathbelle's scent from the palace all the way to Wolfpaw Lake. However the trail became muddled the further into the territory she walked - too many wolves had traveled these paths and her mother more then once, it seemed. She struggled to find the freshest trail, and finally gave up. Plopping her butt upon the ground she tilted her head back and howled for mom with the same method dad always commanded their presence. Pesto's call however was much squeakier, pitchy, and undeniably a frustrated "Moooommy!" "Thinking" "You." |

The pups now had run of the pack, both a blessing and a curse as Deathbelle eased herself back into alpha duties. She was slowly returning to her pre pregnancy weight, with maybe a bit more curves. Ashen was thriving along with her children and the Empress was more than proud. She scouted the well patrolled borders around the lake when she heard her daughter’s voice call out for her. Immediately Belle was sent towards her, the first time mother took any summons seriously. This one didn’t seem to be any hurt but Belle still raced to Pesto’s side and nuzzled her perfect little head lovingly as she sat next to her. ’Yes, my child?” She asked curiously as she held her daughter for a moment.

Pesto's mother came quickly and the little princess beamed with satisfaction. It wasn't just anyone who could make the Empress of Ashes come running at their call, that's for sure. Pestilence felt exceedingly important, which was quickly stifled as her mother came over her and gave her a loving nuzzle. "Mom!" She giggled, bumping her forehead against Belle's cheek to shoo her away. Regardless, the affections were appreciated and Pesto settled in comfortably to her mom's gentle hold. She sat quietly for a moment before looking up at the Empress to pose her question. "Dad says we need to make some sigil thing. To represent us." To Pestilence, the us she was meant to represent was the Abraxas side of her and the princess was not sure how she felt about that. "I don't know what to do for it, do Klein's have sigils too?" She looked suddenly sheepish, and her ears flopped upon her head. "Do you have one?" "Thinking" "You." |

She disturbed her daughter, but that was alright the pup hadn’t given any thought to what mom might have been doing. Belle was happy to set down her duties for a moment to make her sure offspring were well cared for. She adored her perfect pups, and wouldn’t have changed anything about them. The Empress didn’t leave the princess’s side, but hold her as close as she’d allow as the girl spoke her problems.
She looked down at her adoringly as the words slipped from her young lips. ”Hmm.” She started seriously as Pesto asked her mother of the sigils. ”Your father gave me his, but as far as I know there is no sigil for the Klein.” She told her daughter easily. ”What’s most important to you? What do you think represents you best? It doesn’t have to be anything recognizable.” She mentioned, her daughter could just make a pretty design if she wanted.

Pesto frowned as she learned that the other Klein might not have sigils, though her dad had shared his with her mom. "Well that's stupid." She offered bluntly. "Why isn't uncle hari and aunt luce and everyone else allowed to have one? Sirius should have one too and his should be the biggest of all with pointy fangs." She thought of all the wolves in her life that she loved and adored and what their sigils might look like and it was easy for the pup. Hari could have an owl in his, Luce could have an herb in the middle, Pandora could have a spooky ghost. Why couldn't it have been that easy for her? "I don't... I don't have fangs, or horns, or spikes like the others. There isn't anything that makes me special." Her ears fell to her skull and she leaned into her mother's embrace. It was hard to think of things to symbolize herself when Pestilence had nothing out of the ordinary about herself. "Thinking" "You." |

”No one said they couldn’t have one of their own.” She told her daughter calmly as the girl over reacted to her statement. She was fiercly protective of her Klein heritage, a thought that warmed her. She wanted them to embrace both sides of their heritage, but the pups were beginning to become their own little selves. Deathbelle couldn’t dictate their views.
”You are special to me.” Belle assured her child as she nuzzled her affectionately. ”You have to prove you’re special to the rest of the world. Sometimes you aren’t lucky, and you’ll have to work to show your greatness.” It was a hard truth, but that was the only way to get anywhere. Greatness didn’t fall in your lap. ”Think of what’s important to you and include that in your sigil.” She said comfortingly to change to an easier subject.
