smols are not tanks, exxon
With a healer in his company, he felt comfortable enough to leave the Battlefield and quickly make his journey back to Exxon. It was night now, but he remembered the path to the mountainside clearly and it wasn't too hard to follow the scent of blood, either. The stocky giant wasn't as fast as some of the slower wolves in his company, but his youth and his long limbs carried him in a giant stride that made it easier for him to stay the same pace as others, for now.
Every so often, his thick neck would twist to look behind him and search for the image of the gray wolf that had accepted to come with him. He hoped the fact that they had to climb a whole mountain wouldn't deter her from wanting to help, but he didn't want to waste time sharing details back on the Battlefield.
He led her through the pines, preemptively choosing a semi-cleared path... the same one he had taken Exxon through. With the way he cleared and lept over trunks and boulders without care as to what was behind them, it was clear he had spent some time in these woods. The forest was dark, but as the pines started to thin the smell of blood would begin to thicken. Suddenly, the dirt transitioned... dusted in a light layer of snow as they neared the peak of the Maw.
By the time they reached the scene of the fight, the blood that had been spilled had dried in the dirt that had been exposed from the snow due to their combat. It was hard to believe what it had once looked like, but he remembered it clearly. Blue eyes searched the lower branches of the pines surrounding the area, searching for Exxon as he expected her to be hiding somewhere among them as he instructed. So far, he could not see her.. and it was too risky to howl and alert any other bears that weren't already on their scent. Instead, he kept his nose low to the ground and followed her blood trail. He came across the disturbing clearing where she had rolled in the dirt in an attempt to slow the bleeding from her wounds and paused. There were so many trails from her running back in to fight and back out.. he was having difficulty pinpointing exactly where she went, and he could only hope that medic with him wasn't getting irritated with waiting.

Huntington did not care how far she had to go. if her silence was guessed for her being irritated, that was on the young man. she kept her focus entirely on where they were going, asking no questions for her mouth held a bundle of herbs. she did not know the other's name and also did not care if she did or not. what mattered was practice. the chance to show her skills, so hard earned, to the world around her. if she lost the patient, there was nothing to be done about it. the blood on the floor already told her that it was a severe injury.
how severe though... she waited a few paces away as the young man looked for his companion. if it was a normal situation, she would suggest moving the patient to another area. but judging by the panic in his tone, the other being was unable to move far. if another predator came along, it was up to the large young man to protect her as she worked. Huntington did not drop her bundle; she waited patiently enough for one who was eager to begin. this part of the north was unfamiliar to her, and she had a small amusing moment when she had 'begged' the woman known as Deity to collect wolfsbane for her around here.
she wondered if that woman had succeeded or not. not that it mattered. she was disposable until she proved herself to the girl.
[ooc; if you could tell me exactly what exxon's injuries are in a note out of character i'll properly prescribe it!]

She was used to being alone, or had been. It was unknown when she'd started becoming dependent on Dominus' company, but having an extra set of eyes and teeth around was beneficial. And...he hadn't tried to kill her yet. A great friend. Now she was left to wonder where the wolf had gone, what if he wasn't coming back? Perhaps he wasn't interested in running with a now half blind companion. Not that she could blame him. He'd said something before he left, but her state of mind had been irrational at the time and she couldn't recall his words.
A bout of dizziness interrupted her thoughts, she was lying still so why was the ground still lurching beneath her? Her tongue lay quivering in the dirt beneath her gaping jaws, pale white in color as she fought for air with unsteady panting. Never had she been so cold, shivering like a leaf in a storm. At the very least, she was a luckily creature, if the bear had gone for her throat instead or severed an artery, Exxon wouldn't be here to complain about the cold. She stared at the pool of blood below her head, the only thing she could see from her position, it had nearly blackened, with a slight amount of bright red still weeping onto it. The once streaming flow had ebbed to a weak trickle. She'd already decided to move once she had the strength, pickings would be slim with her leg muscles chewed to hell, but if push came to shove, the coyote would be able to live on pine seeds for a short while.
(OOC; Ello doc :D She's got four deep lacerations on her face and bite on her left thigh from the bear. She rubbed dirt into the wounds, so they're pretty dirty now. Lotta bloodloss, eye is still in there somewhere, but blind.)
Dominus followed the scent of the coyote's blood, trying his best to pick it apart from the other new scents. It wasn't too hard, especially as he neared the pine she was hiding behind.. the scent was thick. He braced himself for whatever it was he was about to see past the girth of this pine's trunk and rounded it just in time to witness Exxon attempting to stand. She was a lot worse than he had left her, and immediately he ran to her side to protest.

Huntington would approach the coyote neutrally as the boy rushed to her side. a quick look up and down and she could tell what was wrong. the blood loss was most troublesome; especially that the fool had placed dirt in open wounds. her head whipped around to the boy as she dropped her bundle. "clean the wounds while I prepare a poultice. lick her wounds clean" she ordered him softly. if he wanted to save his friend's life, then it would be in his best interest to do as she said. "it is fine if she bleeds more; it will make the dirt flow from her wounds."
settling next to her patient, her eyes cast a glance at the worst of the lacerations. the bite could wait. she set to work preparing a poultice of the meager herbs she had brought with her. the trillium was most useful; it helped with infection and cleaned wounds. she was quite sure it would set in if not properly attended to. Huntington chewed it quickly before bending over to spit the moisture from the plant onto the woman's face before spitting the rest of it on. taking a paw, she gently pressed the herb against the open wound, massaging it into the lacerations.
