Brandr woke to a loud crack of thunder that shook not only the sky but the ground he was laying on. Dirt fell from the ceiling, cracking him in the head and jolting him to life. That was no thunder!  The earth was shaking violently and the den was starting to crumble around him and his family. "Everyone, outside!" He bolted to the entrance, slipping through and stopping to wait for his wife and child but he could barely turn his face away from the heavens that blazed above him. Fire torched the mountains to the southwest and billowing clouds of black were quickly swallowing the stars, spreading out like a dark curse across the sky. His heart hammered in his chest as he howled for his pack mates. No doubt they were already aware but he craved solidarity. They needed to get out of here. The question was where should they go? No doubt far from the blazing mountains, from the volcano that sent the whole earth writhing. "Talk" "You" Think

His sleep was ripped from him as the earth shook not softly but violently. It growled and rumbled angrily, jostling him awake with wide, confused eyes. After a moment, the tremor grew, causing the earth in the den to begin to fall; panic set in and he did what he did best. He screamed as loudly as he could, hopefully waking up his slumbering littermates and his mother. Unfortunately, the fear overtook him and he could no longer sit there and wait, fear snarled at him to get up and run thus, the pup followed his instincts bidding. He lurched to his feet, tail tucked and body low and he ran. Slipping out of the den, he did not stop, but he did angle towards a howl. Little legs took him as fast as they could carry him, the bright red light going unnoticed until…he saw the other wolf looking up.

Spirit slowed to a stop, hiding under Brandr(if he stays still) and peeking out to look up at the bright light and dark clouds that spewed from the distant mountain (volcano). ”Wh-whats happening?” He would whimper, voice and body visibly shaking.

As if it wasnt bad enough to be ripped from her sleep by tremors and shakes that had been becoming a common problem with the world the girl knew, her brother started shrieking and it wasnt but a moment and her mom was shoving each and every one out without a moments notice. The den was crumbling around them. Then spirit took off. Her eyes followed after him. The air was thick with ash and the heavens were on fire. Yet he was running in what she felt like was the direction of the danger. Her ears pressed. The howl had come from that way. But their family was here. Everything was confusing and scary. Her normally fearless demeanor was disturbed now.

She tucked her tail as she was nudged after her brother. Her pace was much slower but she came to find him under another. Fear was evident on her face as she looked to them all. She wished for certain that Uncle Rhyme had been here right now.

Shed been overseeing the nap time of her children when a tremor happened. She was content to wait it out at first but when it became violent and the den started dropping globs of dirt on them she was quick. Her eyes were determined as she nudged those that were not awake already awake. Then quickly nudged each after spirit's quick exit. Hopefully her son would await their family. Only once each child had emerged she did so. Only when she did her ears pressed and her heart clenched. Spirit was already gone, and her eyes fell on the sky. Her eyes became saucers. They needed out of here fast. She knew Rhyme was not here and was not an option to call, but there was one. She needed help to get each of her five children out. She loosed a howl for Ox, Noir and Theory. If any would fault ox now if he came to aid her, then they would meet a very out of ordinary Eulogy. Her children came first. She nudged each child in the direction of spirit.

"Go, we need to flee here. Hopefully we will be met by my friend and your cousins to get you all across the Rapids and to safety." she tried to stay as calm as possible but only once her children were safe would she be calm. She nudged those that weren't moving and those that were she moved in the direction spirit had gone and she had heard a packmate howl.

Once they were all there and with another adult she looked to the Male. Her eyes pled with him wordlessly to help her. She had five children that needed evacuation from this place before the blazes caught them.

Desolate woke with a startle as his mother nudged him, eyes wide and ears flattened hard. "What is it, momma?" He whimpered. There was a terrible noise outside and the ground shook. The sky smelt wrong, he didn't know what was happening but his instincts screamed 'danger.' He looked up at his mother in fear, following her out of the den. "Why do we need to go?" He didn't understand. This was home, it was safety. Why was momma so scared? He saw Spirit hiding under the stranger and ran towards his brother, moving up close to him and if he would allow it would rest his head upon the other pup's shoulder comfortingly. He remembered scaring Spirit with his pretend bear, and could only imagine how much more afraid he was now. "Momma will take care of us." He whispered to his brother. "Speech" "Thinking" "You."

Void didn’t appreciate danger and what it was very well. Even as a young innocent pup he could only view himself as an insignificant speck compared to the whole of the universe. The distant boy didn’t hurry even with his mother’s urgent nudges. He sighed heavily and reluctantly followed her and his siblings from the den. Immediately upon exit he found his first passion. The stars and the moon were gone, replaced by the plumes of black smoke and spots of fire. Void’s eyes opened in surprise and indignation. How could his lovely stars be so forcefully taken from him?

Tears welled up in the boys blue and lavender eyes and he positioned himself tightly to Eulogy’s side. He was growing fast, but his childhood was far from over. ”Mum, the stars…” He whispered in alarm as he leaned against her.

A pup he didn't recognize came scrambling underneath him to hide, a whimpered question slipped past his lips and Brandr ached for the child. This was terrifying enough as an adult, he couldn't imagine what it was like for the kid. Soo another pup appeared and she moved next to her brother, clearly just as frightened. "I think the volcano may be erupting but we'll be alright. We just need to get everybody to safety."

The pups were swiftly followed by their mother and two more pups. Goodness, she had quite a brood to tend to. He'd been lucky he only had had two mouths to feed. He looked to the mother. "Is this everyone? We'll need to evacuate, I'm sure Shaye has a plan." Their options were limited. With the way the smoke was moving if they tried to head out to the north or south they were likely to be cut off. Eastward was the only option but would they be able to get far enough? Having just returned from the festival he thought the Ibis Islands might be a fair bet, then they could put the water between them and any risk of lava or mudslides.

His head jerked up as he heard Shaye's call. "There, she's calling everyone. That's where we need to head. Do you need any help with your children?"
